I understand that you are concerned all this could happen. But I very much doubt it will happen. Because it won't take too long before the authorities will realize that this would just involve too much money and manpower - even if 90% would be done by AI. Targeted individuals might suffer. But I can't imagine anybody, or any AI, looking for i.e. trans comments and then prosecuting everybody.

I bought many things from AliExpress. I always select the regular post delivery. From 100 packages I paid maybe 3 or 5 times tax and duty in Thailand. It's a gamble. But mostly, in my experience, you don't pay anything in Thailand. If things are delivered by DHL or FedEx or anything similar, then you can be almost certain that you pay tax and duty. And you pay it on the total cost arriving in Thailand including transport.

The important word from the headline is ALL. I know I can search every chat individually. I am looking at my bank records and I see that maybe on the 3rd Jan 2024 I transferred 500B to Somchai whatever. Now I don't remember what this was about. I can easily search for a name in my email, LINE and WhatsApp. I can also easily search for a specific date in my email. But as far as I know I can't search in LINE or WhatsApp to show me all chats from a specific date. Is there a function to do that? Sometimes I order something from little shops and I transfer money. Most of the time the bank account is in the name of a person and not the business. And when I chat i.e. with LINE with a business they send a picture with their bank information - and not text. So searching for text doesn't bring up that information. Is there any way to search by date in all chats? It is very unlikely that the money transfer was not initiated by me. I just forgot and want to find out in the hindsight.

Why? What do you expect will happen? Who will check and investigate and prosecute all of us? Take the NSA in the USA as an example. They have data about everybody and everything since a long time. And what happens to ordinary people? As far as I know little. When I remember it correctly after 9/11 the NSA found data related to that, because they knew what to look for and they looked really hard. But before that event it seems the NSA had no clue about it. Obviously with AI a lot of that will be more automated and on a bigger scale. But I still don't expect most people will be in any trouble.

What nationality are your partner and daughter? Most travel insurances don't cover anything inside the country where people "come from". If they are Thai nationals, even if they don't normally live in Thailand, most travel insurances won't pay. Travel insurances pay for acute conditions, i.e. food poisoning. They don't pay for anything "foreseeable" like connected to preexisting conditions.

Never ask "why?" in Thailand. There is no why. There just is. 😉

Just get a stable desk which fits your height. You can check online about best sitting position, desk height, etc. IMHO don't buy anything with a tray for the keyboard. Always put the keyboard directly on the desk. Those trays are always instable and annoying.

They attacked Iran's embassy. Internationally an embassy it seen as the equivalent of the country. An attack on the embassy of country X is equal to an attack on that county. And Israel obviously did this deliberately.

If you like watch the video from Glenn Greenwald, which I included in my original message. He mentions a couple of cases where there would have been "good reasons" to storm embassies, but it didn't happen because in general countries respect embassies from other countries. Israel obviously knows this. They knew that their attack on Iran's embassy would provoke retaliation from Iran. It seems that is what Israel wanted, so that they pull the USA more and more into this conflict. And the USA obviously does what Israel wants. Sad.

Yes. I wrote above because in my experience ThinkPad is about as good as it gets about support and spare part. After a couple of years these devices are treated like obsolete, like nobody would ever use them again - even if they are still working. Sad.

I have a Lenovo ThinkPad with a bad hinge for the screen. The notebook is maybe 7 years old and working fine. I asked Lenovo and they don't have a spare part to fix this issue. And in general Lenovo ThinkPad are notebooks with one of the best supports.

Imagine all those TM6 administrators who store and analyze all those papers. There must be big warehouses full of them. What should all those people do if there wouldn't be the TM6 anymore?

Whatever It is a reminder to all of us how fast things can change. I guess most of us don't kick people, especially no women. But I am also pretty sure most of us do sometimes some things which are not lawful. Maybe traffic violations, maybe we bribe someone (like everybody else does it), etc. After living in Thailand for a while many of us get used to do many things like Thais do them, even if they are against the law. In 99% of the cases that is never a problem. But with the wrong person, on the wrong day, bad things can happen.
