  1. And when "the left" in the USA insist on putting all minorities everywhere, independent of their qualifications, then they shouldn't be surprised when people vote for the right - because they don't have these stupid ideas. Personally, I always thought of myself as center left. But when I see these idiots with those stupid ideas that makes me rethink my affiliation with the left.
  2. Did he mention that Brexit was a stupid idea? Or did he pretend that the idea was great, but politicians didn't do what he somehow thought they should have done. And obviously the EU is to blame that they didn't agree to everything he wanted. Bastards!
  3. And I thought the free UK wants to do business with the rest of the word. Why exactly do they have in mind? Maybe NZ? Anybody?
  4. Why is anybody still listening to that guy? The only thing he is capable of doing is saying: You didn't do it right. And maybe: I would have done it right. But obviously he only tells people in hindsight what didn't work.
  5. What are they going to do? Tell American companies they can't do this and that? And then the Chinese and Russians will do it? Good luck with restricting AI.
  6. Maybe I will lookup the parts online on the KTM websites. They show all the parts including part numbers and it is easy to find the prices (i.e. in Germany and the UK). Then I have at least an idea what the original parts cost over there. I know KTM is not producing the chain themselves, I least I guess they don't do that. I am happy with a brand name quality product which KTM sells under their own name or which the brand name company sells. I want to avoid a bad product to avoid future problem. I replied to that email from the dealer asking for more details. Let's look...
  7. I have a 150cc Suzuki and I bring to the Suzuki dealer where I bought is for service and repair. They do what has to be done, use original parts, all fine. For small bikes like that original parts are cheap so there is no point in looking for cheaper options. I also have a KTM Duke 390, not really a big bike, but it's a proper bike with lots of electronics, high performance engine, etc. which should be maintained by a qualified dealer / service center. And that seems to be a problem in Bangkok. I bought it in 2018 from the KTM distributor at that time and the first service, at the same shop, was fine. Later the distributor changed. And dealers changed. Over the years I had my bike at 4 different KTM service places. After the first and good service I used a by KTM recommended service center near Rama 5. They asked me if I want synthetic oil or cheap oil. What a question? In the KTM manual is written which synthetic oil should be used. I expect KTM to use that and don't ask if I want cheap oil. For the service they didn't clean or lubricate the chain. Like: If you want that you have to tell us. And I thought that is part of the service. Not good. Then later I had similar experience with an authorized KTM dealer on Lat Phrao road. They also told me I need a new battery and they told me I should buy the battery and bring it to them so that they can install it. I told them that should be their job. It seems they were confused about that concept. Later I had a little problem with water temperature. I visited a KTM dealer on Phetburi Road and they were able to find and fix the unusual problem. So I thought I will visit them again. Now I visited them again for service. And I told them they should check the complete bike for any issues. They told me it will be ready in one day, now it's almost a week. They also "lost" my phone number. Yesterday I called them again and asked them what is going on and they told me (in Thai) about a problem with the front suspension and some other issues. I told them: Send me an email with the details. This is what I received. front frok building Chang seal&oil 5000 baht Chain 5750 baht rear brake pad 860 baht rear disk brake 2520 On the phone they told me the KTM original fork would be very expensive, so they suggest fixing it locally. I would have expected more details. If the fork is not original KTM, how about the chain and the brake? I would have expected the brand name from the products and maybe part numbers. Is that too much to ask for from an authorized KTM dealer? I accept that original parts are not cheap. And sometimes 3rd party parts from reputable manufacturer are fine. But I don't want any parts from no-name companies. "rear disk brake" means little, without information about the brand and maybe part number. What do you think about a situation like that? Do I expect too much? How is your experience with your authorized dealer for your big(ger) bike? Years ago, I had a Honda VFR400. I bought that from a Thai guy who had his own little shop, and he was specialized on that bike. From that one man show I didn't expect any sophisticated quotations. And I knew he was good with those bikes. But from a proper authorized dealer I expect more.
  8. He looks like it wasn't something special for him. Just one of those days.
  9. It's obviously nice that she did that. But is that so unusual that this is news? Like: 20 people were seen to make video and selfies near to the fire and she was the only one who alerted the fire fighters?
  10. I always though this forum is for entertainment. Or is there anybody out there who really likes to discuss if they prefer a chimp or an orangutan to play with their wife or gf? And about pretty girls with braces: Would you prefer old women with missing teeth? I am sure there is some forum for those kinds of pictures, and maybe you want to join that. I stay with cute girls. Sometimes with and sometimes without braces - and no monkey business.
  11. I hope he retires and has a happy life. I think he was one of the best politicians Thailand ever had. And certainly the best PM from the last decades. But until now the majority of Thais clearly didn't want a smart and honest leader. Let's see what will happen now.
  12. The women in the picture should be happy about any attention she gets. My gf is obviously only for me. The rabbits are allowed to kiss her, and that's about it.
  13. I am pretty sure the Thai beef in Foodland was chilled until it arrived and never frozen. Freezing meat doesn't make it better. If I can get good tasting chilled beef or frozen beef, then I prefer chilled, never frozen.
  14. Coming back to my questions above, is there something like a "British restaurant" which is not a pub? Anywhere, not just in Bangkok or Thailand? I know some pub food like fish and chips or beef and Guinness stew. Now is that pub food or British food or both of it? I think Italy has some distinction in the type of food places. There are pizzerias and there are "proper" Italian restaurants. Until now I thought pubs are similar to pizza places in the UK. But do they have "real" restaurants? Or are those real restaurants the type with a French menu?
  15. I have to admit I am surprised that there is something like British restaurants. I am aware of pub food, but I don't think I ever saw anywhere in this world a British restaurant. To be fair, I also didn't search for them. But restaurants from lots of nations and regions exist in many places. British restaurants - not so much.
  16. I read in an article somewhere that the teacher asked at some time for the permission to play any Disney movie and the parents agreed to that. I think it would be nice if parents and teachers and people in general would focus on important things in life.
  17. It seems to me that the voters stated clearly they don't want Prayut and they don't want Thaksin.
  18. Additionally to above: A long time ago there were different Windows versions per country or language. That is not the case anymore. It's all the same now. So it doesn't matter where you buy it. The language is up to you. You like you can buy it online or offline in Thailand and it will be the same as if you would buy it in the USA. And obviously don't download it from dubious sources including malware.
  19. She should have expected that the guy will be violent. And she should have expected that he won't like it if she (wants to) break up with him. Likely the above-described violence was not the first violence which happened. At the first sign of violence, she should have run away, far away. Obviously she didn't. And then it got worse. That's what bad guys do. That doesn't change the fact that he is still the criminal who did this to her. And he should be punished for that. She didn't deserve it. But maybe/probably things would have been better for her if she would have thought about possible consequences of her behavior. Like I wrote above: I hope she learned from this. And I hope other women learn from this as well.
  20. I am not surprised to read a comment about victim blaming. I have to admit I have difficulties with that concept - at least in a situation like this. Did she think he is an accountant with a 9 to 5 job? Or did she know, or should have known, that he was/is a criminal, and probably a violent criminal? When a woman decides to have a mafia boyfriend, what does she expect? Love and a quiet life until retirement? I think she, like every one of us, is responsible for her decisions. If she is in a relationship with a mafia guy, then she should expect that he acts like a mafia guy.
