  1. So how much did Chuwit donate or pledge for the happiness of the people? And how about the people who don't care about football but want a free (soapy) massage? I am ready to receive donations.
  2. We thought about that. I would be the person who buys that car. I can afford 100k, but I wouldn't be surprised if there are some repairs, maybe a little accident and things like that. I definitely prefer a per day or per trip deal.
  3. Thanks Sometimes that works and this is how we (my gf) did this in the past. But it seems now many people have older cars and not so much time and it is more difficult. Let's see
  4. Will now all the faithful stop donating to this "monk"? Will they ask him how he can afford such an expensive car? Or is it part of being a good Buddhist not to ask such questions? Somehow I would be surprised if this guy was until now a "good monk".
  5. Thanks. For clarification: The idea is to hire a (kind of) taxi or rent a car in that area and only use it in that area. The distance between the village and the hospital (the longest distance) is 70km. We don't plan to use the car to drive to and from Bangkok, at least if we can avoid it.
  6. They have even more. You can usually find them in bars and casinos.
  7. The family of my gf is in Prachinburi. Normally she goes there with the bus or train. And maybe someone picks her up at the station or maybe she hires a motorcycle or pickup for the last kilometers when she arrives. Until now that worked. Now her father is sick, and he needs to go several times a month to a hospital. Maybe he is in the hospital for a few hours, or maybe he is admitted. That is often not clear in advance. If it is an emergency, then an ambulance picks him up. But the ambulance does not play taxi service for follow up visits - I understand that. So what are the options now to transport him to the hospital? The father and brother of my gf don't have a car, normally they don't need one. But for these trips it would be good to have a car. Sometimes the neighbors have time, and they transport the father. And obviously they get paid of that. Ok. But sometimes the neighbors don't have time. And then? In Bangkok I would just take a taxi or Grab or whatever, but up country that is not so easy - at least that is what my gf tells me. Do you know if services like that exist, where the taxi company or driver can be called, maybe he has to travel 20km to the village, and then he should drive to a hospital. And maybe stay there for hours and drive back to the village. And how about hiring a car, with insurance? Do reliable car-rental companies like that exist up country? And do they maybe have a service to bring a car to the customer? Or does the customer has to go to the rental company to pick up the car? Maybe all this is obvious to you. I am living in Bangkok and have little idea about life up country. And until now my gf also didn't need these services. Thanks for any advice.
  8. That is obviously very suspicious. Did he just finish his Pilates session?
  9. One of this, IMHO, totally useless news stories which could end with: Similar events happen every day probably thousands of times all over the world. And then the speculation about the nationality of the victim. And the question of the nationality of the accused. And why did anybody steel lots of money and valuables? And why did anybody leave money and valuables accessible to others? And why did they bring money and valuables to Thailand at all? We still need the question why they came to Pattaya at all, they obviously must be sex tourist and deserve to be victims. And all that from a little boring everyday article. Interesting...
  10. And some of them are Thai, some are farangs, some are from other countries. And lowlifes exist all over the world. Is that a surprise for you?
  11. I agree with above. HDMI connections are sensitive, they are much more than just a cable. Cheap splitter, without electronic, should not exist. Good once cost several thousand THB.
  12. It doesn't matter. Because the reason for any arrest is to show the public that they are doing something. Here, look, we arrested some bad guys. Great, good job, and now continue as usual. Repeat after some time.
  13. I just had a look at Lazada. They are cheap. Personally, my first criteria would be quality you can trust. Because if such a thing decides to start burning in your pocket you have a problem...
  14. Win/win He will bring up lots of dirt about anybody who will dare to run against him in the primaries. The DEMs will be happy that Trump brings up the dirt and they don't have to do that. And if Donald runs for president, he won't have enough support from within the GOP and he won't win. And if he loses in the primaries, I am sure lots of his supporters will hate the then GOP candidate. Whatever happens is a win for the DEMs. And whatever happens is lose for the GOP. Summary Win/win for the rest of the world.
  15. Wow, 15 suspects! Is that even 0.1% of the people who are involved in gambling in Thailand? It's almost funny when they always pretend to do something. And then the same officers can be seen not so much on duty in the casinos. TiT!
  16. Will the girls have in the future QR codes with their bank details instead of numbers on their bikinis? And how should I explain that to the wife? Difficult times!
  17. That reminds me of that Thai criminal fugitive who sues people left and right but who seems to think he is above the law...
  18. I live in a big building in lower Sukhumvit Name Building Number/Unit Sukhumvit Soi x Bangkok 10110 THAILAND does the job. I never used the other little details. I don't think there is anybody in the mail office who doesn't know Sukhumvit. That doesn't mean you shouldn't do everything correct, but (likely) you don't have to.
  19. Thanks. That is actually an interesting thought. Because now we have it often enough that my girlfriend in the kitchen tells me: Remind me in 5min to do xyz. I think my new oven or even the hood has a clock and timer. But I better doublecheck about that.
  20. It seems you want it all cheap and then you complain when it breaks... I paid for my titanium frame about 20k - about 15 years ago. It's still perfect like when I bought it.
  21. I would have given you a thumbs up. And then I read the last line...
  22. Your reply is to my comment so let me reply. I don't think single party rule is a good long-term idea. There should be choices. That is good for everybody. And in a prefect scenario there should only be valid choices from politicians who tell the truth. I.e. they could discuss immigration and the pros and cons. And maybe one party stands for more immigration and another party for less immigration. There is not one answer what is correct. It is a choice for the people. And, as far as I know, people can establish a new political party and that party could get many votes in the next election. They could even win. One of the problems with many voters all over the world is that they always vote for the same party. It would be best if they analyze the current situation and then decide what to vote for. Obviously they should keep in mind what parties did in the past. But they should also consider alternatives.
