I also thought about that. I even thought about buying a winch. But like you write, they should be operated by professionals. Mistakes could be expensive and dangerous. Do you have any idea what kind of jobs such people would regularly do? Like: Where could I start to look for such a team? And it's not sure if the space between the stairs would be big enough. It likely depends on how much protective material is around the aluminum frames.

If you rent, then the commission is obviously not your money - but I am sure every owner would be happy if they don't have to pay any commission to anyone. I have to admit some time ago I thought those people behind the counter, who get paid to work in that building, should provide that information as part of their job. It seems many think otherwise...

That's what I thought. 2 people front, 2 people back, in average 20kg each. And obviously they can make as many breaks as they want. Without any research I though 4 people who each get 3000B (for maybe 1/2 to max 1 day of work) should be sufficient. What do you think? And yes, it's 30 stories.

Thanks for all your answers. There are three 80kg panels, and a few smaller and lighter items. The manufacturer/installer of the sliding door suggest smaller size which fits in the lift. That is obviously an option. But if possible, I prefer 3 big panels compared to 4 smaller panels. I don't think an outside crane is a reasonable option. There is too much wind to just wind it up. Motorcycle guys are obviously an option. But if they drop it maybe they say sorry but that's about it. They won't have an insurance they won't care much if anything is damaged. I think asking a piano company might be a good idea. I will try.

The sad thing is obviously that few people in Thailand will be surprised by any of this. The only surprise would be if the influential abuser would be jailed for years.

I will install some sliding glass elements in my new apartment. I can choose smaller elements which fit into the lift. Or bigger elements which are too big for the lift. In that case they have to be transported up, about 30 floors, in the fire escape staircase. Can anybody of you recommend a company or people who are able and willing to transport 2400x1500x30 mm elements, about 80kg each, up the stairs? If they only speak Thai, no problem. Personally I would try to stay as close as possible to where you mostly spend your day or night. And if work in A but go regular out at night in B then I suggest try to find something in B. Obviously it is annoying to get to work every day. But it even more annoying to have a long way after you go out at night. Even in lower Sukhumvit you can get reasonable prices. Just don't look only at the first and new buildings in the soi. A few hundred meter into the soi (easy with motorcycle taxis) are prices often a lot better.

Even if you ask directly at the counter of the building that doesn't mean the owner won't pay a commission. Sometimes/often the people behind the counter collect the commission. And if the owner doesn't want to give them a commission, then they conveniently forget that that unit exist. Welcome to Thailand! And obviously any information about free units with phone number might be from the owner or an agent. You just don't know. And also shops etc. in those buildings charge the same commission.

Somehow it is funny that some of us have to remember the time of those stationary phones. Like everybody had one at home. I even had two at home. Amazing!

No For truck on knows roads that might work. But for cars on all kinds of roads in all kinds of conditions there will be lots of restrictions and imperfections for a long time. And I think the whole concept is flawed. As far as I know the current situation is that some cars drive automatic while the "driver" does nothing. And in case of something unusual the driver is supposed to take over. Does that make sense? More and more new drivers will be used to "autopilot". These "drivers" will never get much road experience because they almost never drive themselves. But the automatic system gives these inexperienced drivers full control when things are too complicated for the automatic system. What can possibly go wrong? How about people learn how to drive? And practice every time they drive to learn more and get more experience? As far as I see that concept works just fine and it doesn't need to be replaced.

I can give you advice from the view of a motorcycle rider. Install a big and loud exhaust. You will instantly know that your vehicle is faster and accelerates faster. Ask all the boys with little loud bikes and they will confirm this. ????

Inverter units should run constantly. They regulate if the run with full power or a little. Non-inverter units only run all the time if they need to run all the time to cool down the place. Non-inverter units use more energy mostly because they switch on and off all the time. That constant on/off is inefficient and expensive.

Obviously it would make sense that you talk to a specialist who should visit you and look at the details. Two ideas from me: Double glazed windows should help - but are maybe expensive and difficult to install. How are the ACs installed. I.e. both on one wall facing in the same direction? Or are they installed on opposite sides of the room facing each other? I read that it is important to position them correctly, especially if you have multiple units in the same space. You can find lots of details on the internet. This is just an example:

That is not entirely true. Before I moved to Thailand I was under 30, had a very good income, was slim, etc. but I still didn't get the girls I wanted. I wanted <=50kg girl, any age up to about my age would have been fine. But those girls were very rare and they were happy to join me for dinner but not much more. Was I the most handsome guy in town? No. But I also wasn't the worst looking. Did I make mistakes with the girls? Sure. But I treated them fair and would have provided for them. Could I have some girls? Sure. But not the pretty petite girls which I liked. Fast forward to Thailand. Most girls were slim. And many were interested even without money. In the hindsight I am happy about this. Otherwise I would still be in that cold country with all those ugly women.

Ask me again in maybe a month, then my anti-slip tiles should be installed everywhere. What I did, and what I recommend, is buy a box as a sample and put them on any existing floor and just try. I feel comfortable on my tiles, and I didn't have any negative impression. Just try!
