You clearly like that term "victim blaming". And you clearly don't understand the concept of common sense. And it seems you don't understand that bad guys only go to jail if bad guys are convicted of a crime. And they won't be convicted if nobody reports a crime.

It seems your conclusion is that what was reported in the UK was true. Maybe it was true. But maybe, just maybe, those were gold diggers back then. Who knows?

I will tell you something about people like me. If anybody claims he or she was abused or raped then I support this person to go forward. Report the crime, try that the criminal will get prosecuted and convicted. If the criminal goes to jail then there is one criminal less on the street who can do harm. I am sure many people think like that. We all want that criminals go to jail. So what happens if a person speaks up about a alleged crime which allegedly happened many years ago? Is there any evidence to convict that criminal now? And if that evidence exist why wait so long? Just coming out like "he also did this to me" is useless! It is no proof that a crime happened so an accused person won't be prosecuted or go to jail. And if an innocent person is accused he has almost no chance to defend himself. Who has a record of what he did Tuesday afternoon 12 years ago? If a women waits a week or two to get over the shock that is understandable. But reporting something many years later is for many people like me useless and suspicious.

You avoid giving answers. It seems you try to live in a beautiful world without crime. And maybe in your world crimes just happen out of the blue. Could a victim be maybe even 1% responsible for doing something stupid which she shouldn't have done? Not according to you. We don't live in a perfect world. When will you accept reality?

A appreciate you post. Let me concentrate on this part for a minute. What do you mean with "now to try and make the wrong right"? Do they really expect that the alleged rapist will be sentenced now because they also claim they were abused or raped 10 years ago? Or do they think if only enough women say something happened then we all should believe that it happened? I mean: Maybe it did happen. But just the fact that some women say it happened many years ago is no prof that it happened. And as we all know many women all over the world who accuse men after many years want compensation. That is obviously a big motivation to "remember" what happened long time ago. And if we assume for a moment that everybody is innocent until proven guilty: Do these women really expect that the accused still remembers in detail what he did 10 years ago? That doesn't mean he did it or didn't do it. But we all forget events. And we forget details after days. Nobody remembers all the details after many years.

What is your definition of abuse? Is anybody who has sex with a young Isarn girl in Pattaya an abuser?

Ok, so they decide to stay silent for several possible reason. I can understand that. But why then don't be silent anymore after a decade? What do these alleged victims hope will happen after so many years? Is there any evidence left? Do they expect a confession? Do they expect a compensation? Why stay silent for so long and then speak up?

Like: Don't trust advice that you read on a forum.

I am not so sure what would have happened. I agree it is not easy in Thailand to complain about somebody powerful. But also 15 and 20 years ago powerful people were convicted and ended up in jail. Today it is still a big step in Thailand to complain against the powerful. But more and more people do complain. And/or they post things on fb. One thing is sure: If nobody complains then nobody will be prosecuted and convicted. And saying "nothing will ever change" and then expecting it will change just doesn't add up.

How do you know? I don't say you are wrong, but I also don't know if you are right. There are often lots of assumptions what might have happened. Fact is if many women would have complained earlier then probably there would be fewer victims.

Mansplaing to sexual assault survivors on how they should behave…classy. Your a women, wouldn't you like it if the men who assault and rape women are exposed and hopefully prosecuted and jailed? Now how does it happen that bad guys get arrested and jailed? Does it happen because victims and witnesses go to the police? Or does it just happen without anybody coming forward? It seems someone has to explain this to you. If nobody comes forward and complains then nobody gets prosecuted and possibly jailed. And if they don't get exposed and jailed then the bad guys do bad things again and again, maybe for many years. And then there are more and more and more victims. So what is the best way that there are no more victims? Lock up the bad guys or execute them. But how can that ever happen if nobody complains? A criminal can only get away with his crimes if nobody complains - maybe for 15 years. Now you can try to womensplain to those assault survivors why that guy did it apparently again and again and why he was not in jail.

It's difficult to try to think like a bad guy - at least for me it is. But we all learn from experience in any aspect of our lives. I.e. if I drive too fast and I have to pay a fine then I think again if I do that again. If I drive too fast all the time and nobody cares then likely I won't change my behavior. If a guy assaults a woman and he gets away with that then maybe he is disgusted with himself and decides he will never do that again. Or maybe he learns that nothing happens and he does it again, and again. It's naive to think that a powerful guy does this one time and never again. I understand that it is not easy for a woman to step forward and accuse a guy of assault or rape. But then, if these women decided years ago that they don't want to face the public why do they do it now? And if there is no proof what do they expect will come out of it now, years later? And if there is proof why didn't they report it earlier?

But once registered people can and do drive vehicles for years and never renew any tax or insurance. And most of the time nobody cares. TiT!

They also kept gold bars at home. For what? Hanging them around their necks every couple of days? Just put them in a safety box from a bank or another professional company. There is no reason to keep valuables like that at home.

Why would anybody leave valuables for millions of THB at home? It's just stupid!

Imagine she would have reported that 15 years ago. And maybe he would have been removed from his position. And maybe his bad behavior would have been in the news. And because of all that then maybe lots of other women wouldn't have gone through the same assault. I wonder if women who wait many years with their reports ever think about how many others they could have saved if they would have reported the assault when it happened. And sure, if all that happened then he is a bad guy and he should go to jail and he is/was responsible for his actions. But imagine he would have gone to jail 10 years ago...

It's not just one person or company which has your number. So maybe different people, connected or independent from each other, call you. The best way to handle this is to tell them "I am not interested" and hang up the phone. If they do it again then do it again. Done in 5 seconds. Case closed. Phone sales people want to make money. If they get a clear NO then they move on to other people. If they don't get a clear NO then maybe they try it again and again. And maybe some sales people also have sometime fun and take the pi$$. Like: let's call this guy again, he always gets to angry, it's hilarious

The police informs the embassy and the embassy tries to find the nearest relatives and informs those relatives about the death. Many embassies also inform the family members, who might be in a country far away, about service companies in Thailand who manage these situations. I.e. maybe the father in Germany gives the Thai repatriation company the right to collect things from the apartment. That company will also sort out any payments to the hospitals, etc.

Thanks for your information! Do you know the legal and real life situation about compensation for accidents? Before Covid my gf's father was hit by a motorcycle in the village from a guy without driver license and without insurance. Her father is old and does not work anymore. As far as I remember he didn't have to pay for his hospital treatment. I think it was "for free". But then I remember they talked about a compensation because her father was for some time in hospital and then had difficulties walking. I think they agreed that the family of the bad driver paid maybe 50,000B to him or something like that. I was never asked for money and my gf does things like this without my input, so I don't know much about it. So how is that situation legally? Does the person who is responsible for the accident and injury have to pay a compensation? How much? And what happens if he doesn't pay or can't pay? Thanks

It seems for Thai hospital that makes a huge difference. As far as I know (and I might be wrong) If a person i.e. walks and falls down then it is free for this person. If the person works then the company pays for government health insurance. And if the person is not employed then there is the 30 baht scheme. In both cases the patient doesn't pay. But if a person gets injured in an accident with a vehicle which should have an insurance then, it seems, the above insurances will not pay. Then the hospital wants money from the vehicle insurance. And if the vehicle in the accident didn't have an insurance then this is a problem. At least that is how I understand how this works.
