  1. Yes, correct. But sometimes they are right/correct. And sometimes not only the rightwing base should be triggered. In principle I consider myself left of center. And I see a lot of things which the rightwing, and especially the radical rightwing, do wrong. But I also see things which the radical leftwing do wrong, like above. I think the problem from many of us left of center is that we often only argue (and/or hate) all those right of us. But I think we should also acknowledge that there are some crazy radical left people and ideas which we should oppose. And we do ourselves a big favor of we oppose the radical left. Because if we don't speak up then those people on the right will rightfully point to those people on the left (anywhere a little left to radical left) and say: Look at them, they are all crazy like those people who want to be called "they". We should oppose those idiots. And what do people who oppose those crazy radical left-wingers? They vote right. If the left of center would make clear that we don't want to have anything to do with those radical left then maybe more people would think twice before they vote right. It would be great if they would just vote a little right of the radical left. They should vote for the center or maybe even a little left of center. Because left of center is still right of the radical left.
  2. Yes, but if it is in the wall then normally single core is used - at least according to my knowledge.
  3. Unfortunately that does not happen only in one school or one district. Many schools and universities have more and more crazy ideas like that. And it is getting worse all the time.
  4. Over the years the police stopped me hundreds of times, mostly for riding not on the left lane with a motorcycle. In almost all cases it was friendly. And in almost all cases I paid 100B or nothing at all. They want money, I think that is obvious. What is maybe not obvious is that they want money fast. Because if they have to argue for an hour to get 500B then they didn't really get much money. They could have stopped every 5 minutes another driver and collet 100B each. So one way to do this is to be friendly and have all the time in the world. A friend, who could speak fluent Thai, showed the police officers who wanted money all the other passing vehicles. 100B, another 100B, another 100B, how long do you want to talk to me? ...
  5. Maybe find out or ask someone to find out where exactly the noise comes from. I don't think you would hear it in your apartment if people scratch a chair or walk, even with shoes, in the floor above you. Or to be more precise you won't hear it through the concrete floor/ceiling. But maybe there is a water pipe shaft or something similar or a gap near the windows with a hole between the two floors. That's were sound can easily travel. So maybe walk through your apartment and listen where you notice the noise most. Maybe in the bathroom or entrance or window, etc. And then maybe investigate further and/or ask the management.
  6. I like to buy some stranded and full copper (is that the correct term?) cables to use indoors in my new condominium. I want 3x1.5sqmm 3x2.5sqmm 3x4.0sqmm. What are the official (Thai) names for these cables and what is a good (online) source for good quality with a reasonable price. It seems many places sell a lot of cables with just 2 wires without earth. I don't like that. I want these two types. Thank
  7. My gf often switches off her phone when one or two annoying friends call her more than once a day. But to be fair, when she had a drink or two too much then she calls all her friends for hours. Luckily that doesn't happen too often.
  8. I find it surprising that a guy who seems to do attacks like that regularly is still alive and not in prison. Does he normally get a slap on the wrist or what is the usual punishment for attacking people?
  9. I decided already to have a deep double sink and hot water. My gf is luckily not demanding. Most of the time her attitude is "up to you". But then again, she has a good idea about what I like and she knows it is unlikely that I will select something which she doesn't like. With the kitchen (surface) and many other things my first priorities are that they work as intended and are good quality to last some time. I would never buy anything that is the newest design only because of that reason.
  10. If the pictures are the best they can offer than they should try again.
  11. Security is not as good as it should be. After all TiT. I don't worry too much about the security aspect. As far as I know that is not a considerable risk in this building. But sometimes it's just nice to see who is at the door. And with modern technology that is easy to do remotely.
  12. Is it legal and accepted to have a small security camera at the apartment door in a condominium? I.e. if someone is at my door and rings my bell and I am not at home then I would be able to see such a person remotely. Or maybe I am home and I want to know who is outside of the door without opening the door. For some cases a door spyhole camera would do the job. But it's 2022 so why not use a camera? I have something like this in mind - just a sample.
  13. Obviously it's not true. I tell my gf the same. There can only be one most beautiful girl in the world! ????
  14. If someone would have shown us such an article a few years ago we would have all agreed that can and will never happen. Just never, not in 100 years. And now it is obviously still strange but not really surprising anymore. Crazy new world. And somehow I think it gets worse.
  15. That works if it is about the type of plugs. That is not the case for me. I need 86 x 86 which fits in the standard 86 x 86 wall box. I have an important reason for that, maybe I publish a picture when I finally found what I am looking for.
  16. Good comment! I think sometimes it is not only big money. Lets say someone reports that a black guy was fired by his white boss. That must clearly be racism. That white guy must be a white supremacist and racist and make sure his picture is everywhere so that everybody knows the face of that bad guy. But maybe he was fired because he did a bad job. And maybe 3 other white guys were fired at the same time. But no, that is not in the news. And who dares to question if maybe the bad work was a reason to fire that guy and not his skin color.
  17. Thanks, don't ask me why I didn't find them... Sometimes the problem is in the detail. I.e. "your" Nano PDF file shows the square plate 86 x 86. Great! But when I look at their Thai website their "square" products are 70 x 120 and there is no 86 x 86 product on their Thai website. With Häco I found some 86 x 86 products but they seem to be all a cm or more away from the wall and not flush with the wall. Another interesting problem is that even the 86 x 86 maybe don't fit. I order this here: https://www.sahndesign.com/product/18362-16639/2-pin-amp-universal-socket It looks good. BUT the internal part is so big that it doesn't fit in a standard wall box. That is a problem for me because it has to fit... Yesterday I ordered one from LUZINO on Lazada. Let's see if that fits. If not then I will use your links to search some more...
  18. I think the better, fact checked media, often omits details, and sometimes important details. Or they don't ask important questions. Just today I read an article about a guy who fled a massacre in Sudan. He finally arrived in the UK and now the UK wants to send him to Rwanda. Lets assume he fled a massacre in Sudan and he should get help. According to his own information he fled through Libya, Malta, Italy, France and then he crossed the channel in a little boat. Nowhere in that article was a comment or question why he didn't stay in any of the safe counties through which he traveled. Now he blames the UK. He could have applied for asylum in any of those countries he traveled through. But obviously that is not what he wanted. Any question why? No question...
  19. We could fill a book about that. But I am a little tired to discuss this, especially here with too many red-shirt fans. Just look up the articles on BBC from 2010 and talk to people who were in Bangkok and saw reality with their own eyes at that time.
  20. No, it depends on the view and maybe parts which are not reported. And not just in this picture.
  21. That was discussed many times in this forum. If the internal search does not bring results I suggest you use Google, that search works most of the time for entries in this forum. About the money: I transferred money to SCB. Important: The transfer to Thailand has to be in the foreign currency like EUR or USD. The exchange to THB has to happen in Thailand. On the transfer you have to write something like: for purchase of a condominium in Bangkok. For the bank transfer you don't have to mention any condominium name or address. When you know exactly what you want to buy then you have to get a letter from the bank that the money for the purchase of unit x of condo y was transferred to them from out of Thailand. The condo manager or whoever will join you in the land office should know the details. There are lots of different fees involved and you should know what to expect and you should clearly agree with the seller who pays what. When I bought a unit my seller agreed to pay all the fees. That made it easy for me to relax and don't worry about those details.
