Maybe, but Europe and the USA are soaking up, and have throughout history, 100s of thousands from all around the world. Not popular I'm sure, but both continents were built on migration, much of it forced, but much of it of incalculable benefit to the host nations. Every American was an immigrant somewhere along the line. And the Thai people never existed prior to Phiboon scrapping Siam. Suddenly, you were Thai or nobody. Not Lao, Khmer, Burmese, Mon, Chinese, Tai, Hmong or any of the other tribes, nationalities and stateless people who came to make up the bulk of the Thai population.

Yes, you're right. I think that was the original idea behind them. Medieval cookery wasn't up to much and sauces made it palatable.

I think it's right down the far end

Chicken is tasteless. It was cheap a few weeks ago. 55 THB per kilo for breast in Makro. But like eating some sort of mattress filling. Now sliced belly pork at 199, down from 240.

I buy the pre packed beef in Makro. It varies hugely in quality. Some of it is perfectly fryable and eaten as steak. There's a diced offering which does well after 2 hours stewing with carrots and mushrooms etc. It's "Thai Brahmin" mostly, but plenty of Aussie imports too.

Police Don’t Believe 9near Hacker Bought Data From Dark Web
bradiston replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Tried hacking my way through the weird assortment of articles put out by the above. According to one of them, he never went on the run, suggesting he has been held all this time, since April 2nd, by military authorities. Then they say he turned himself in. None of it makes any sense, that's for sure. BS baffles brains. -
Put all your stuff, phones, money, keys, cards, condoms, Kamagra, blow, fags etc in watertight bags inside a dive bag, and take only what you really need. Have the bags clearly marked. Pre op, in op and post op. The best laugh is soaking a brand new iPhone. Yeah ok they're waterproof, but you wouldn't want them on display, either, would you?

phone scam on BIL succeeds - any advise?
bradiston replied to SunnyinBangrak's topic in General Topics
The scammers are remarkably good at finding a mark, I guess. Some sort of profiling software? Or AI? Not difficult to outsmart even the smartest with that. How do you defend against AI? It's not like a virus. Or phishing, or whatever. Just remember, you never know who or what you're talking to on a phone, chatline, forum etc. Hello? Tap tap. Is this thing working? So if anyone thinks they're stupid for falling for these bxxxxx tricks, no, you're not stupid. Just unlucky your name and number came up on their screens. -

Feeling Insecure about dating ladyboys

I thought this was about ladyboys. -
I think his wife should know this. It's a bit of a no-brainer. She just goes to the amphur with ID and whatever else is required, and yes, probably make a police report.

Maybe if they provided proper training, proper equipment, eliminated hazing and bullying, had a proper career path in place, fair and non discriminatory promotion system, decent pay, housing and insurance, eradicate pay for promotion practices etc etc, they might get volunteers from all walks of life, not just the press-ganged usually impoverished citizens who can't afford to buy their way out. -
EC Apologizes for Disruption of Advance Voting Registration System

4000 people per second? 14m per hour! The entire electorate in 4 hours. That's going some. Complete cobblers of course. More like it has a capacity of 4000 hits per second. Doesn't mean you get anywhere after that. Maybe the first 20 get lucky. Where's the Minister of Digital Doo Dah when you need him. Next thing we hear, the whole database has been hacked and sold, or gifted, to interested parties. -

Maybe a pointless question, but what happens to conscientious objectors? Is there such a concept in Thailand? Hanging's too good for 'em? I doubt it. They'd have strung up Ali, GOAT, amongst a million others. "Refusing to serve in the Vietnam War, boxer Muhammad Ali stated "I ain't got no quarrel with them Viet Cong ... They never called me <deleted>." in 1966." https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conscientious_objector -

New Home Country. For Thais this time around.
bradiston replied to swissie's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
My Thai ex wife has UK citizenship and hasn't been back to Thailand in more than 20 years. She remarried and lives in a big house in London. When I was living in the UK, we used to meet quite regularly and I'd ask her if she was ever going to "visit home". "Why me go Thailand?" she'd reply angrily. "Only poor bloody people there!" I learnt to hold my tongue. I still love the old girl. Fighting spirit. It's what most Thais are very good at. -

She'd need a WP to hang herself? Interesting. And send back all Russian "refugees" with dodgy ed visas, working without WPs, to Siberia, to be banged up on arrival, then conscripted into Wagner for fleeing in the first place.
