Just back home from a walk around Pattaya, from 11 pm to 1 Am, on the 19th.

Pattaya Tai - full chaos lower part even at 1 AM.

Second road - chaos extreme both sides of the road 1 AM.

Beach road - total anarchy 1 AM.

Sales tent all beach road (yes again) and hardly place for walk between the tents (nothing new there).

Across View Talay was a big 'house music party' that attracted a big crowd.

Outside Royal Garden was a huge 'Pool' where there might be some 'graphic fun' tomorrow.

Pattaya have a new 'breed' of Songkran party goers.

I am just heading out and will end up Soi 7/8, great fun.

Will I have to bust through a blockade of ThaiVisa members against Songkhran protest, nah, they'll all be sitting at home in front of a PC living the dream..lol.

I will report later if I done the right thing, oh and I'm walking from Wong Amat Soi 16 so it's good exercise too.

I have found it's Farangs who are really bad at paying people back or just downright cheating people out of money, with never any intention of paying back.

Years ago I fell for the " I'm getting money sent over soon " story, one guy took me for 60,000 Baht, then disappeared. ( I J. if you're reading this, you know who I am, you are not forgotten!), Various other small loans rarely paid back, on the other hand I have had Thai people always pay back, incredible that I and ThaiVisa members should have such different experiences.

Then again mine are real, not made up.

People are still buying them brand new, Fortuner has been a smash hit, and rightly so, very good transport for Thailand.

I've had mine since January 2006, I've replaced the Battery Once and bought new tyres, that's it, I've never had a car as reliable, it's been great.

In Pattaya, many Thais and Farangs were caught early Monday morning at a Police checkpoint in South Pattaya, I saw the Farangs sitting in the back of a Police pick up, nearly every Farang I know drinks and drives on a regular basis in Thailand.

Don't worry lads, it's only till the 19th.

That's the main purpose of this thread - to warn people. There's always "sick....holes" out there, only at Songkran they have licence to do as they please... and at Songkran it's not "some", it's many. They converge on the town from all over Thailand and the rest of the world.

The reason why Songkran "fun" goes on longer and harder in Pattaya than any other place in Thailand is because there are so many "sick...holes" here. They started the whole 10 day mayhem. It'a a pity that the normal people can't put an end to it.

My theory is that any adult who enjoys these activities for over a week is a "sicko" by definition.

It can get a bit out of hand at times, Alcohol has a lot to do with that, but for every person who has a problem , thousands never have a problem.

As is usual on ThaiVisa, the focus is on the negative.

The vast majority of residents, farang and Thai, have a problem: the 10 days.

I wouldn't suggest it as a good idea to my Grandfather, but my younger brother would have a ball.

I've always enjoyed it, but it's not for everyone.
