  1. I can never understand why he lived in Thailand, the penalties are more severe than someeuro countries

Did he possess or consume illegal drugs in Thailand, or traffick them into or out of Thailand?

You can only consume certain Legal drugs in Thailand that will kill you, Alcohol and Tobacco and prescription medication, anything else can't be taxed.

  2. These guys are probably on the most lethal drug of all, Alcohol.... plus Cigarettes.... jeez, what a combination...

I see guys everyday, drinking beer, sipping whisky, smoking cigarettes, taking Valium and Xanax for the anxiety they cause, yet none of that is illegal, smoke a joint of a herb, they'll throw you in jail, why is that, why is a man made drug legal, and a natural plant illegal ?

Cos they can't tax it, that's why !!!!!!!

  3. I have a place in Wong Amat, many units are empty most of the time, Farangs use them for their holidays, and the Thais come down from Bangkok at the weekends.

The condo developers who are throwing Billions of Baht in The Wong Amat area must know something.

I have been hearing from the doom mongers since 1990 that Pattaya is finished, to think they didn't even have Foodland then, lol.

  4. 20 Years in Prison, just for that level of drug dealing??? <deleted> Thats just wrong...

You reckon, do you not think about the number of lives that have been affected bye his trade...?

And alcohol producers, cigarette makers and giant pharma companies that get millions addicted to the latest and greatest drugs every year.

Between that lot, there is an awful lot of blood on their hands.

They are legal drugs that kill millions, but these giant corporations pay an awful lot of tax, so they are legal, anything they cant tax, is illegal no matter how many are killed by these products. Giant corporations support the politicians and Political parties who make the laws with huge political donations, so they remain legal.

If Alcohol wasn't taxed, it would be a Class 'A' drug, think not ? try making your own Alcohol that isn't taxed by a government.

Governments tax the drugs they can, and make illegal those they can't.

I was addicted to Valium for 15 years, prescribed to me, yeah right, then try to stop, see how you get on, yet they and other Benzos handed out like candy and have been for years, ' Mothers little Helper '

If I made a tablet that gave the same effect as a double Scotch, no impurities, no health problems just mind altering, you think it would be legal, of course not, but then why can I go and buy a double Scotch in a pub ?

  5. They have been fingerprint scanning at Tokyo Narita Airport since 2007.

Doesn't really add that much time, but then again, Thailand isn't as efficient as Japan.

So it will probably add hours ! smile.png

    I went through there maybe 4 or 5 years ago, so 2009/10 ... I never got fingerprinted ... w00t.gif

Sure it was then David ?

November 2007 it was introduced, did you go through Immigration at Narita, maybe they had problems with the system that day, or just looked at you and knew you were not a risk to National Security ......must have an honest face. thumbsup.gif

    Impressive Technology.

  6. Yes you can start at Jomtien with a 30 day stamp. First step to do a conversion to O visa done there. With that you can apply for your new annual retirement extension. If using the 800K method, the funds must be seasoned two months rather than three as it will be a FIRST TIME extension based on your new visa. Sounds like you are using the 800K method. Well with your new visa obtained Jomtien, you'll wait until the last 30 days of the 90 day stay and then apply for the extension, by then you have time to season the money.

    Good luck!

BTW, I have a wild idea for Thai immigration.

What happened to you must be very common.

They could raise money by offering to stamp people in AS IF they had a reentry permit by charging a large fine.

For example instead of 1,000 baht for the permit, charge people 10,000 baht for reentering without a permit and then granting the time as if they had a permit.

It's good money ... why not?

Thanks Jingthing, yes you're probably right, must happen to a lot of people, the low season extension of stay will be much better to renew than the mayhem in Jomtien just after the New Year.

So it's not all bad news.

    Thanks again to all.

  7. Unbelievably stupid I know, considering how many times I've had to get one, it just totally slipped my mind.

I'm in Tokyo, so I can apply for a Tourist Visa, or will the 30 Day entry I will get at the airport be enough, I have the money in the bank, it was extension based on retirement.

I don't mind to change it really, as my one year visa ends ( used to end ) on the 5th of January, and it's super busy in Jomtien around that time. Low season is much better.

So, will my 30 day stamp be enough to get the ball rolling again, or best to get a Tourist Visa ?

    Thanks.

  8. My friend got sorted out, no big problem , no great drama ( except on ThaiVisa ), so for me , It's topic over.

Is that so hard to understand ?

Thanks again to the poster that actually gave great info, as to the rest of you, live with it, it's real life, people do get into trouble, your pontificating and disgust won't change that while you have a breath in your body, and it wont change after you have no breath at all. we are humans, we make human mistakes.

If you think you are so great, think where you get your food from, take a look at this, then eat a steak.

  9. Yep, it was quite a strong one, had a minor one 20 minutes before, but the one at 5.20 quite a shaker.

I only arrived on Saturday, they are a bit unnerving. Tokyo is waiting for 'The Big One' and when it starts shaking you're wondering, is this the one.

I have felt much bigger quakes in Tokyo, but they are all unnerving.

  10. Another thread designed to make Farangs feel better about themselves, guaranteed hits.

Started by an Admin, now there's a surprise.

This penis size thing is ridiculous, what good would a huge penis do in Asia, Asian women are in general smaller than European or African women, so why would an Asian man need a bigger penis ?

    Are you Thai?

    No, I'm a Zulu warrior.
