  1. Find an article in English and use Google Translate to translate it to Thai. A new free service put out by Google a month ago or so. Works for me to show my girl English articles in Thai.

we actually tried that already. unfortunately most thais do not possess the critical thinking abilities to be able to comprehend a non-perfect translation.

and to the poster who told about the application process. thanks, that is good info to know

  2. I know a pretty bird that has been approached by recruiters, they said they needed her to 'take care of old people.'

I was on a bus that got stuck in traffic for 4 hours (between Sanage and Kourankei gorge, Aichi prefecture, Nagoya) last November, there were 15 nurses on the bus from Indonesia + their Japanese teacher taking them for a day trip.

They all cuddled my daughter and we talked almost all the time.

They were recruited in Indonesia by the Ministry of Health, Japan has made agreements with Indonesia and the Philipines to recruit nurses from there.

Contracts are : 6 months full time learning of Japanese in school with dedicated teacher(s) and then 2.5 years deployment.

All the girls were nearly same age, low 20s, bright, excellent English, Japanese skills aiming at level 1 in 1st week of December when those tests are held nationwide.

That is how it goes when the recruiters are legit.

This is along the right lines as described above.

What I told her is that if it is legit, she can get full contact information and photocopy the ID card of the recruiters here in thailand and contact of the place in japan where she will be working. I can even meet the recruiter here in thailand and we can take some photographs together. We can then do some verifications and contacts. We can also investigate exactly how she would get her visa and its validity and who would be purchasing the plane ticket (assuming a round trip ticket with what return date) and how they would expect to be compensated for that.

these are questions that the girls usually dont ask because they are hypnotized by the chance at a 'better' life. Most likely at the first mention of her having a falang friend 'wanting to help' the recruiters will be long gone.

    -----

and to the others, this girl is actually not a BG, just a a friend of the family looking for options

    go have another chang. :o

still looking for a direct thai langauge link to an article if anybody has one

  3. :o:D she not making enough here?

opps, i see she not a hooker here, sorry.

nothing wrong with being pretty and servicing the old :D:D

Actually there is nothing wrong with hooking, me thinks it is a fine profession. :D what is wrong is what the japs do to the girls once they are there which is more akin to slavery than hooking

    this might help

    http://www.womenthai.org/

both Thai and English. Give it a look over

Thanks for the link. Any particular article in Thai you could direct link to? (as I dont read thai and she doesnt know how to use the net )

  4. Can someone point me to an online Thai language article about what happens to pretty thai girls when they go to 'work' in Japan

I am talking about the confiscated passports, big debt, abuse and sexual slavery and then deported back to thailand with no cash

I know a pretty bird that has been approached by recruiters, they said they needed her to 'take care of old people.'

and while I told her what would happen when she gets there, I think it would be good to read it in her own language.

    Thanks

  5. Being the Megomaniac that he is, I am sure Dr. Taksin regually checks/edits his Wikipedia page and perhaps even this forum. It would be intrested for the mods to check to see if any strange african IP addresses have been accessing ThaiVisa lately, or some of the Thai Online newspapers. Bet he has even subscribed to google updates for his Name.

bet someone clever with the right resources can bait and find out where he is.

  6. I got a multi-O in Delhi about 18 months ago. Takes 3 or 4 days. Mine was overstamped (handwritten) "family visit only, employment not permitted" which was totally ignored by the labour dept. when they issued my WP :D

VERY helpful staff at VFS, it's the same company that handle UK visas from BKK where they don't enjoy such a good reputation :o

The visa application place (it's not the embassy) is a 10 minute walk from the Metro (forget the station right now) but you can find the building on Google maps and plan your route :D

They seem helpful. They just replied to my email and basically said I could get it with a copy of marriage papers and kids birth certificate. I will bring some bank books to make sure. I assume they didnt actually keep your passport for 4 days? You just have to come back to get the visa affixed?

  7. Have a look at

    http://www.vfs-thailand.co.in/

    This should help.

Thanks for the link. Well it kinda helps..

On their visa info form it says you need a marriage certificate for a type-O

but they dont really specify if that is for a single or multiple or what?

as we know each place has their own polcies that rarely line up with stated policies.

Anybody had actual experience or contact?

I also just sent them an email. See if they reply.

  8. Yeah the sonofasenator webdesigners were using their standard dreamweaver 2003 templates again that they used for the thaiairways site

but as for this topic I actually emailed the NYC support desk and got back the following

" With response to your inquiry, you can just re-register your PayPal

account with youraccount held at our Bank in Thailand and follow

the procedure steps as attached below:

    (See attached file: Paypal reply.doc)

Thank you for your business and best regards

    BBLNYB-HelpDesk."

"With reference to your questions, as currently our Bangkok Office will assist the customer to verify the funds with Paypal, therefore, you do not need to send any form to New York Branch but you may register your Bangkok Bank bank’s account with Paypal by using our New York Branch Fed wire routing no. 026008691. After a few days, update your passbook or checking your account activity through I-banking service. If you see the two small deposits in your account with the code FTT or FRTT, you may contact our Bangkok Phone center at Tel. No. 1333 or 02-626-4156-9 to inquire for the US dollars amount which you can use to verify your account with Paypal accordingly. ":

So I dont really know or care about ACH or other things. Only about getting paypal money out cheap Based on these instructions it seems very possible. Any body want to write a support question to paypal and ask them what they think about this?

  9. From

    http://www.bangkokbank.com/Bangkok+Bank/Pe...e_eCommerce.htm

Though the thing that troubles me is the last line that says

The online payment service provider will ask you to confirm the amount of the trial deposits - DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS REQUEST as it is intended only for recipients that have bank accounts in the US.

sounds a bit shady. Anybody do this?

  10. Amercain name.

you board the plane in and go through immigration in the US with your US passport with your US name on the ticket

then upon arriving in Thailand show them your Thai passport at immigration.

then when you go back to america, you check in at the airline counter with your US passport so it matches your ticket, but go through thai immigration with you Thai passport.

then upon arriving in US, show your US passport again.

    got it?

  11. its funny because the thai tourists scare the falangs away and lots of the shops in town are geared for falangs and are empty when it is shoulder to shoulder on the street. thais dont frequent internet cafes/used books and pizza parlours (unless of course they want to take a picture of themselves eating a pizza)

current going rate for any land a 15 minute walk of pai center 2-3million a rai -

current rate of land in pai center - - who knows.. . . .

  12. Santika ( spainish language ) = Beauty of the nature

It's NOT a Spanish word, neither Thai.

    It sounds Indonesian to me.

    R.I.P.

It is Indonesian as far as I know - though not sure what it means. There is a 5 star hotel in Jakarta named Santika and a fairly popular beach resort in Bali.

  13. I am just going to end all the disucssions here so listen up because you wont often have someone tell you the facts straight

    1) AMoung other things (including some good things too) Thaksin/TRT engaged in massive PRC/authoritative like movements. Things that a bad dictator does.

    2) Because of this he has been deemed unacceptable. Point closed.

    3) All other logic and arguments do not matter. He is not allowed no matter what the reason or logic. He will always be wrong and his oppisition will always be right despite any "facts" . Nothing else to say.

    now sit down.

  14. Where can I park my car for a few weeks in CM on a regular basis?

Preferably covered (rules out airport) and secured.

    Willing to pay.

Maybe a hotel? but which one?

    Ideas?

Check out the bus station. Some of the bike parking places there take cars as well. Try the ones between the bus station and the superhighway. Not sure of the prices but they're open 24 hours so should be secure.

now that you mention it I remember those places - they will stuff cars 3 deep in the bottom floor of shop houses.

i suppose it would be kinda secure if your car isnt that interesting, though probably get a few dents in the process.

good thought though, in the end, we may just take an apartment with a space and just occupy 1 week a month

  15. falang punters dont appreciate white skin half breed beauty - i wouldn't worry too much if it is a falang bar

on the other hand if it is frequented by thais, japs or chins then you should worry

I have met before the daughter of bars from upstairs before and they were quick to talk and take drinks, but not so quick to go home. hope that makes you feel better.
