I 2nd using Open Office
For %97 of users it does things faster and simpler than any MS suite (and its free)
for hardcore spreadsheet/macro users then you should stick with MS
As for upgrading to Office 07- with regards to recent microsoft products I would have to say that if 03 is currently working fine for you at this current moment, then don't press your luck.

Nice to see the Thais doing what they do best....F^^K their country up, as they have done for the past 70 odd years.
Thais actually do fine - they just work in circumvent ways. Any other country would have been a bloddy civil war. Here we shut down the airport for a week
Try following Phillipino politics for a while if you want to feel better.
-
I hope these idiots arent doing something bad again at the airport, that will sink thailand
I have no idea if anything is actually going on or not, but if something is, then it is not 'those' idiots again
now it is 'those other' idiots.

what a foolish drug smuggler. customs must have it in page 2 of their playbook to scrutinize people with excessive tattoos. bet ya 10 baht if he wore pants, we would not be reading this thread
So, are you saying that if a person has "excessive of tattoo's they must be a drug smuggler?
I have many tattoo's but cant stand heroine etc or the effects that it has on users/families etc.
FF
of course not, but its about the percentages and you know they dont lie.

Australian Andrew Hoods, 36, arrives at Bangkok's Criminal Court December 19, 2008. Hoods was arrested at Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi international airport on Wednesday with 3 kilograms (about 7 pounds) of heroin strapped to his body.

Can anyone tell me of a good web-design company in Pattaya or Bangkok that can speak good english,
Thanks,
Eamon
the fact that you are demanding that they "speak good english" means that you want a thai company. I have not heard of any good thai web design companies unless you want dreamweaver 2003 flash templates. you can find semi-competent falang for cheap and even professional quality if you are willing to pay a bit more. just define what you require.

A friend of ours bought one, she has had no end of trouble with it......not having thai menu hasnt helped her.
I had never seen one, but have spent hours playing with it now & think its aweful....but obviously the masses don't think so, but I just cant figure what the attraction to them is? Is it seen as a status symbol??
not in reference to your friend, but it brought up the thought that I have found that non "educated" thais dont get the iPhone.
you can by these girls a Nokia N-Whatever spend 30k baht on it and they will be right at home. get them an iphone and they will scroll through the picture and complain about putting music and ringtones/video and go right back to their nokias.
it is much too complicated for a thai public school education.

have seen the visual redesign of the BKK post website
looks like they got the special redesign package rate.

I'm sure there are many posting on this but not sure about all the particular points though, if you are getting this phone just note the following
1. Unable to increase memory storage
16g not enough?
2. What happens when your battery dies, can't replace it, and so far apple does not provide warranty to replace the iphone battery at least in thailand
future tripper
3. Don't bother watching any online internet videos because apple does NOT support flash. ( NOTE i am unaware if someone has fixed this issue or not on the old iphones
built in youtube app -can watch all youtube videos
4. pretty much stuck with itunes, yes i'm aware there are alternatives to this but not as smooth as itunes, ( NOTE could be wrong on this issue am currently be looking for good alternatives but i use on linux though
see this it is list of bunch of itunes replacements
if you guys find any other issues you want to point out let me know
now you have nothing else to complain about. fork over the 20k

I am just wondering how much it now costs to pick up an English copy of Wii Fit in BKK.
Are there any other new Wii games that people would recommend.
I got the Jap Wii fit in CM last week worked fine with my US chipped console. It was around 5k and they threw in the US (backup) version of the software which worked fine
as for games.....
super mario galaxy, super smash, mario kart, zelda, metroid - I heard jedi is good and shawn white snowboarding too (for wii)
Wii Music is worth about the 80 baht you pay for the backup copy but fun if you have thai kids in the house.
about %80 of wii games bore in 1/2 hour.
the rest are legendary

It is rare to find a politician who does gppd for the people over doing good for him/herself.
I mostly agree, however history has shown that Thais in places of power who were BORN and EDUCATED overseas have a general tendency to consider more of the greater good of the people.
I think he is a fine herald to a new era.

So I picked up a Wii the other day at 3rd floor Central in Chaing Mai.
I assume it is chipped because it can play the backup games, but I want to know if anybody knows what chip. more so what does that mean to have a chipped wii?
should I turn off updates and internet access, am I in danger of bricking it with a wrong move.
On another note some of the 'backup' games start to work and then when try to load into actual gameplay says that it cant find the disk. This seems to be consistent with a few and others like Mario Kart (arrhh) worked the first few times and then cant find the disc.
Does this have to do with the fact that it is chipped or just crappy backup copies?

all you guys are just still upset about that little airport closing
if you read the list of demands they are reasonable. they simply want a transparent and non-corrupt government. is it too much to ask?

Hi all~
Does anyone know DVB-T channels and corresponding operating frequency in Thailand?
Is DVB-T popular in Thailand?
How many channels are working in Thailand?
Is there any document about the DVB-T development and national standard in Tailand?
I need some information in English because I can't read Thai.
Thank you!
earlier this year MCOT did a test on ch 58 at their ratchada site and later moved it to bayoike. not sure if it is still on the air or was CA (conditional access) with some speical korean handsets -
or the current status but it was/is being tried.
there will be no real adoption until a goverment gets in place long enough to appoint a committee to assign frequencies. then it will most likely be built on a euro-standard shared infrastructure.

Quality control @ Posiedon
actually you dont want that job.
but really. the best job in thailand are the people that are able to make money come out of their computers.
each one is unique

all these directions are making my head spin. does someone have them plotted on a map?
-
I know about the grouping of lots near the moat off MoonMuang on the way to Tesco,
But are there other places in Chaing Mai that have large selections of used cars/trucks
btw.. looking for pickup 400-500k

takeaway.
guess the "forces of good" figured out it was cheaper to bribe MP's then it was to finance airport seizures.
do what you got to do.

Plus there loads of gits who want to start rubbing your shoulders when all you're looking for is a quiet piss. Who on earth wants a massage when they're urinating? I've never sussed that one.
if you slip them a 5 and tell them that you are feeling a little hot, they will do a quick reach around when nobody is looking
but really - a primary reason they are there is to keep the bathrooms safe as traditionally thai bathrooms are places for drugs, sex and violence of which the owners do not want happening in their bathrooms.
-
I try my best to stay only at hotels where the staff treat me like a thai. I hate staying at falang hotels where the bellboy is thinking "you stupid falang, are you going to give me a 20 baht tip for holding this fuc_king door open for you"
better to stay at places where they respect and the people are happy to serve.
-
Maybe some Thai Government worker sold it to them.
more than likely whoever was in charge before was shifted around and the whois went to a dead personal yahoo address and whoever took over didnt comprehend that the thai government would have to pay $8 a year for a domain that must obviously already belong to them because they are thai

If they put a red sock like that gentleman in the rinse cycle then I have a feeling that they opposition would take a much more concise approach to rectifying the problem
-
AOT and PAD will jointly conduct the screening of passengers into the airport.
-The Nation
.
all joking aside, they would do a better job than those contracted pickpockets from Loxley.
-
how do they get the 240k count?
are they including those of use who never had any intention of leaving?
