  1. Been watching snippets of this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a-NUOtvr7B8 Full concert coming this month. Here is a sample:
  2. i wonder if or when auntie is coming back.
  3. Pretty much the same everywhere. I was reading an article a couple of weeks ago about how much airlines actually make on ticket sales. It quoted a flight from UK to the US (can't remember the departure or arrival points, but the ticket cost was 50p. The rest of the fare was made up of all sorts of taxes and fuel fees.
  4. Some love us, some hate us, and all shades in between. Same as anywhere really.
  5. My eyes are getting bad. I read that last bit as "who needs engines?"
  6. Once you land in japan, you should be able to buy yourself a 5G SIM card. A Mensa candidate Japanese girl, means she has the intellect to be even more devious than a dumb one. Enjoy your search.
  7. Micky? Mouse Hunt? I wonder if one of his wives was named Minnie.
  8. He has certainly made the news today. In another thread he wants to legalise gambling and casinos.
  9. Possibly some type of "keyhole" surgery on his shoulder joint or tendons.
  10. Physics...https://phys.org/news/2011-10-silver-white-cars-cooler.html#:~:text=White%2C silver%2C and other light, cooler than traditional dark colors. Same reason many houses are painted white and not black in hot countries.
  11. I love watching Muay Thai, but I cringe when I see Rodtang "The Ironman" doing his thing of putting his hands down and letting his opponents punch him to the head. Trying to show that they cannot hurt him. I wonder if any of his trainers warn him of the concussive damage to his brain he is taking.
  12. Light cars for not only being cooler in the daytime, but more visible at night.
  13. Chugging only olive oil might make you stick close to the toilet. Very close. However. As part of what is known as a mediterranean diet, it is said to lower cholesterol, and help prevent diabetes. On a lighter note. How often will you go in for an oil change?
  14. He should be scared. A guy who used an official government car for personal use was given a 52 year jail sentence last week.
  15. How does weighing passengers and their luggage enhance service efficiency? Sounds like gobbledegook for 'make more money'. e.g. Anyone over 65kgs must pay X-amount per kg. Or does it mean, seat all the fatties at the back, and load the back end trollies with more food than the front ones? It's not like the airlines didn't bring a lot of this on themselves. They discouraged passengers from checked in luggage to save money. Now said passenger are taking everything but the kitchen sink onboard with them.
  16. Mostly... A girl once started work at my former place of employment. She was from one of those islands north of Scotland. maybe the Hebrides. I can't quite remember. It was really difficult to understand her. At least until we got used to her accent and she had toned it down a little.
  17. I was reading a couple of news articles this morning that said Putin is on his last legs, very ill, and that he sent a body double to China. So it might have just been said body double accepting, hoping for a way out of Russia. https://www.newsweek.com/putin-china-trip-sparks-body-double-conspiracy-theory-1835514
  18. He might not want to go back once he is here.
  19. Multi purpose for what? Comprehensive solution to what? Nothing explained about these other purposes. Imagine all government staff being paid their salary into a digital wallet. Only allowed to be spent in certain "government authorised" outlets. At prices controlled by said outlets. Not allowed to spend more than a certain amount each month on alcohol or cigarettes. All in the name of health. Far fetched?
  20. Is it the photo? Or have they spelt POLICE wrong in that last pic? Looks like POLCE
  21. That's one of the scary parts about a cashless system. Another thing that I profess to not really understanding, but perhaps someone can explain is this as I might have the wrong end of the stick: When buying, selling or transferring funds in crypto, there are fees called "gas". These can be quite high. If the government succeed in creating their cashless society based on blockchain technology, would these fees apply to such a system? If so, I doubt the banks would be absorbing them for long.
  22. But what about those tourists from countries other than China and Kazakhstan? and those with visas? Don't they warrant the same protections?
  23. There are many campgrounds in Thailand. Some private and others, usually in national parks. See on Google. You might also be able to ask permission from someone to pitch a tent on their land, " for a small fee." You might be able to do it on some of the smaller, quieter islands. I remember about ten years ago, seeng someone camping on a beach in Koh Kood, but it's busier there nowadays. You might get away with stealth camping, but very doubtful. Thais don't seem to miss a thing. Eyes everywhere. Also, you might be leaving yourself open to crime if in out of the way places. https://www.thainationalparks.com
  24. Bounce on 4th or 5th floor of Emporium at Prom Phong. Loads of kids jumping about on giant trampolines. You can leave them there for an hour while you go and do a bit of window shopping ot have a coffee. Or the aquarium in basement of Siam Paragon. full of sharks and rays. They have penguins and other animals too. Good for adults as well. CentralWorld has an ice skating rink.
