  1. Changes I can make: - change loads. If I'm charging my EV I might decide to leave the car at 50% state of charge and try again tomorrow. - Increase power input : I have 3 sources of power:- Solar PV; Feed in from my backup solar system and PEA. So today am running my backup solar system down to 50% and will switch over to PEA as my standby backup overnight.
  2. I get accurate information on the condition of the batteries on my phone and on a day like today when it has been raining all day that it very helpful
  3. EV Station PluZ on-peak TOU rate from 9am to 10pm will be 7.5 baht per unit of power while the off-peak rate from 10pm to 9am will be 4.5 baht. The off-peak rate will extend for 24 hours during weekends and government holidays, EV Station Pluz announced. To book charging time at a PTT EV station, motorists must download the EV Station PluZ app. Each booking costs 20 baht but this fee is returned as a discount if motorists use the service within 10 minutes of booking. PTT currently has about 190 EV stations across the country but this will be expanded to 450 by the end of the year. https://www.nationthailand.com/business/40017322
  4. You are replying to a very old post, so maybe better to ask the questions you want answers to. Most EVs in Thailand come with a free wall charger. You can apply for a second meter with cheap overnight rate (TOU)
  5. nRuit and Growatt are designed to work together. The Growatts manage the batteries and I can monitor their status though the Growatt app. The video below was filmed during the testing and debugging phase just after installation and it will give you a better idea of the nRuit and Growatt interface I apologise in advance for possibly the most boring video on YouTube
  6. Here in Surin not only do we have EAA chargers at Robinson, MG chargers at the MG dealer. I have been told that Great Wall will be installing a charger at their dealer here. PEA told me that a EV charger is coming to their main office soon. Yesterday I stopped at my local PTT for a visit to 7-11 and I noticed a brand new PTT EV charger Charging speed: I downloaded the app and signed up for an account. You can pay by debit or credit card.
  7. Unfortunately we have no information yet about launch dates. The Reseller has only just been announced last week. I believe the BYD Seal (Atto 4) will be coming to Thailand, although they will probably start with the Atto 3 as in Oz
  8. I am bored answering questions that have asked and answered several times before and reading all the complaining Ignored!
  9. We have also discussed EVs in Condos several times. There is condo charging in Europe and the USA. I own condos in the UK and will be installing EV charging when I get a rental void. The UK is now offering a £300 grant for landlords to install charging for tenants. Thailand is about 5 years behind where Europe is with regard to EVs. Overnight 3 and 7kW charging (destination charging) will become more common here as they are in Europe. Condo charging is not yet a thing in Thailand, but if it can be done elsewhere, then it can be done here, once there is demand for it. If the condo building can make money selling electricity at a premium to EV owners, then it will happen. Installing a power outlets with RFID controlled access and back office recharging software would be the way to go.
  10. I am signed into my account on PlugShare, so now sure how this map will appear for people without an account. Try clicking ignore to all pop up request to sign up for an account https://www.plugshare.com/location/119530
  11. This question has been raised many times in this discussion by people who do not own an EV in Thailand and answered by people who do. Just because you don’t see any chargers doesn’t mean that don’t exist.
  12. It looks like the BYD Han and Tang will not be coming to Thailand. "But everything we're bringing in the right-hand-drive market is either on the 3.0 platform or future platforms, where the Han and the Tang are built on a different platform that is not coming to right-hand-drive markets. "It's billions of dollars to change a product from left-hand drive to right-hand drive. When we started the journey with BYD three-odd years ago about bringing right-hand-drive cars into the country, it was quickly identified that we're better off investing into the future platforms, rather than the existing platforms." https://www.drive.com.au/news/byd-han-tang-song-ruled-out-for-australia/ BYD Han: BYD Tang:
  13. TOU is not a myth, but it is not automatic, you have to apply for it. In 2019, when I first ordered an EV PEA were doing a free install of a second TOU meter for EV owners.
  14. Comparing Neta V with Suzuki Swift The EV is cheaper to buy and cheaper to run and with 62% more torque more fun to drive, and with a V2L power output function, the Neta V EV can also power your gear when needed. Suzuki Swift 1197 cc 83 PS Torque 108 Nm 0-100kph 13secs 23 km/L 4.3L/100km E20 36.84 Baht/L 158Baht/100km PRICE GL 567,000 GL PLUS 572,000 GLX 637,000 https://www.bangkokpost.com/auto/review/2271091/no-frills-fun Neta V Price 549,000 0-100kph 12.6 secs 76 PS Torque 175 Nm 9.6 kWh/100km TOU rate (over night) 2.6 Baht/kWh 24.9 Baht/100km
  15. Indeed - most solar components have been going up in price due to supply shortages
  16. Watched another 1 hour + launch event! Here is the price after government incentive - Full EV for less than the price of a Suzuki Swift!
  17. Unless rates have changed recently, MG always charged more during peak times Charging fees are 6.5 baht per kilowatt-hour during the off-peak hours and 7.5 baht per kilowatt-hour during peak hours
  18. So working through the video. His first stop was after 250km with only 5% battery remaining. I would have added a 20 minute stop before this and added 100km of range while getting a free coffee and cake at an MG dealer at Chonburi. His second stop on the way back was at Chonburi - he could have stopped at the MG dealer there, where they could have given him help, but he choses PEA Volta which he has never used before as he says "Charger only works with a card not with my app" Driving an EV and neither you nor your partner having a credit car I think is not a good idea. I have a planet SCB Visa Credit card that I preload by transferring funds from my main SCB account. I use it with EA Anywhere chargers. He then "searching for next charger" but he drives past an MG dealer open 24 hours a day with a fast charger to get to another PEA Volta Stops because he forgot to close the charging flap! Second PEA Volta same problem "Charger only works with a card not with my app" "I go crazy" - maybe because he doesn't have a card. I want to know if he has ever used PEA Volta before. I would have tested them out first on a local run. He goes back to the MG dealer "Charger cannot connect to the car. Connection problem!" Did the app MG say that the charger was working? He then goes to an EGAT charger but says he needs an EGAT card which he doesn't have - get one before you go on a long journey! Just checked and EGAT uses the EleXa app that you load with your card info - I think that this is all the same problem most chargers need a credit not debit card. Next charger is FN outlet that is closed - check opening times on the app. Next charger - Robinson - closed for renovations - check opening times on the app before driving there. Next charger MG, but battery flat on his phone. Chargers phone at MG dealer then charges his car! Charges for only 15 minutes so he can drive home. Gasohol stations in Thailand take cash and there is someone there to fill your car up. EV Charging stations do not take cash - they have different apps and are self service - for sure they will be more difficult to use and for some too difficult to use.
  19. Now the press embargo has been lifted in the UK here is an update on the new MG 4 RHD which is now for sale in the UK. Not sure when this car will be available in Thailand, but the fact that it is already RHD greatly improves our chances.
  20. There is a new MG VS HEV . I didn’t mention it as it’s only a hybrid https://www.mgcars.com/th/mg-models/new-mg-vs-hev/overview
  21. Do you own an electric car in Thailand? Have you used EV chargers in Thailand?
  22. Look in the app. MG app is updated in real time and most are at an MG dealer. EAA app - all the ones I have seen have been working No. Look in the app to match to your car. Very few CHAdeMO, very few CCS 1 but very few cars have these now. MG you need the card from MG. EA Anywhere they have an app that you load your bank card into MG dealers have WiFi. EAA are often at shopping centers that have WiFi but clearly not all. My MG has a data sim embedded in the car and this is increasingly the case. BYDs have 5G. Teslas you load your card details into the car and the charging station recognizes the car, so no app or card or WiFi needed. MG App: EAA app:
