  1. As previously posted GAC Aion, China’s third-largest EV maker plans to build a factory in Thailand to serve the Asean market. On August 21, GAC Aion's first exported vehicles, 100 units of the Aion Y Plus, were loaded onto a ship at Guangzhou's Nansha Port and began shipping to Thailand's Port of Laem Chabang, the company announced today. The Aion Y Plus vehicles are GAC Aion's right-hand drive version built specifically for the Thai market and have been certified by local transportation authorities, according to the company. Aion did not announce prices for the right-hand drive edition of Y Plus in Thailand. The pure electric sport-utility vehicle starts at 119,800 yuan (฿576,000) in China
  2. I have stopped answering questions until I've checked what others have written. Nothing to add - good job all.
  3. I made a video about integrating V2L with a home solar inverter. They are designed to accept AC power inputs from the grid or a generator.
  4. BYD Seagull an affordable mini electric car, coming to Thailand soon. Starts at $10,000 in China. Good review video just surprised he didn’t mention the pink interior, hopefully there are other colour choices
  5. Are you off-grid or can you use PEA to top up your solar system? I installed an energy monitor which shows me energy usage in real time. So I can switch on an air con and see how much power is being used. I made a video about how it works
  6. Great value car, but not on my shortlist either.
  7. Agreed the MG HS is a great car and great value for money. The PHEV version IMHO is even better
  8. My mistake, I didn’t know the click had a belt drive.
  9. Currently all Tesla cars for China’s domestic market, S.E.A. and Aus/NZ come from Giga Shanghai where the vast majority of cars produced are LFP powered standard range model Ys and 3s - no Nickel required. LFP is soon to be replaced with CATL’s even more efficient M3P chemistry - again no Nickel. I am wondering how important Nickel is going to going to be in the Tesla’s future plans. Nickel prices in 2023 have been between $20,000 - $30,000/T
  10. Tesla to build battery factory in Indonesia “Tesla is planning to build a factory in Indonesia to produce battery materials, according to a senior politician. An announcement is expected to be made in the coming months. However, there will probably not be a Tesla vehicle plant in the country for the time being.” https://www.electrive.com/2023/08/15/tesla-to-build-battery-factory-in-indonesia/ When Tesla was looking for a location for a vehicle plant in S.E.A. Thailand was hopeful that it would be chosen, but Indonesia with it’s rich Nickel resources seemed to beat out Thailand. However, after years of tough negotiations and some premature announcements from Indonesian officials it seems no location has been chosen yet. Maybe Tesla will decide to follow a number of Chinese EV manufacturers and set up a vehicle plant in Thailand after all.
  11. ok - I'll give you that one, can you put the engine in the hub so I don't need a chain?
  12. Again with the unsupported statements Your last one was How was your test drive in the Neta V? I would be interested in your informed opinion. How about a station wagon?
  13. Thinking of buying a Tesla Model 3? Don’t! Better to wait for the all new Model 3 Highland. Rumors are circulating that Tesla is planning to rev up the base battery of its Model 3 from a 60 kWh to a 66 kWh battery pack, promising a 10% boost to the EV's driving range. The upgraded battery is reportedly the result of a collaboration with CATL, utilizing their brand new M3P lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery packs. It’s claimed that the Shanghai factory has already stopped making the old model and sales of the far cheaper to manufacture project highland will start in October.
  14. As ICE motorbikes go yes the Honda Click is very reliable, that’s the reason I bought it, but to say it’s the most reliable bike on the planet shows you are not up to date with developments. Our new electric bike has a sealed hub motor, that requires no maintenance. There is no chain to lubricate, adjust or replace as drive happens at the rear wheel. There is no tiny 12v lead acid battery to start the motor and run flat if the bike is not used for a couple of weeks, like happens to our click. The battery on the electric bike is Lithium Ion with far more capacity.
  15. You clearly don’t drive an EV or you would know that’s not true. I have driven an EV in Thailand for over 2 years now and never had any problems. You can buy a Neta V EV in Thailand for ฿549,000, but maybe you think that’s expensive.
  16. I have been waiting for the Government EV incentives to kick in and in April I purchased a made in Thailand Deco Hannah for ฿30,640 it was previously ฿50,000. We have solar so it gets charged for free when we have excess power in the middle of the day. It is fun to ride and my wife loves it compared to our previous Honda Click, that always seemed to be breaking down.
  17. If you can’t be bothered to check your facts before posting. I can’t be bothered to fact check your posts - added to my ignore list
  18. This time an Isuzu tried the same trick won’t they learn
  19. Meanwhile in Thailand EV news. Toyota Hilux rendered undrivable after rear-ending BYD ATTO 3 which suffered a lost rear number plate.
  20. I have a similar problem. The software that came with my Growatt inverters (I have 3x5kW in parallel) only shows power that is consumed. In addition to powering the house, I also am also able to power my EV and electric motorbike, but the system was designed to power an electric SUV and an electric pickup truck - when one becomes available in Thailand. So I would like to know how much power my system is making in total to know if that is possible. As I over the 5kW maximum for single phase, I am not allowed to feed back to the grid, so currently excess production is curtailed. I am also trying load shifting with various appliances like my ice maker, robovac and Dyson charging that are on timers to run in the middle of the day
  21. No, wasted my time watching some random rubbish you found on the internet. Not going to make that mistake again. added to my ignore list.
  22. Just another China hating channel, all their videos are anti China. You said it was more information- where did it discuss different battery chemistry in EVs and the difference between PHEVs and BEVs. You know NEVs and BEVs are not the same right?
  23. There is quite an active Solar group on AN and I haven’t seen anybody installing as little as 3kW. I moderate a Thailand solar group on FB and again never seen 3kW. The minimum is 5kW and even then most people install 6kW of PV with a 5kW inverter. You accuse EV owners of “claiming righteousness” but I have never heard diesel drivers like yourself acknowledge the harm that they causing by their own emissions. Thailand has a real problem with poor air quality.
