  1. The best specialists don't work in public hospitals, they work in private hospitals.

    More face, more money.

Not true at all, the best specialists work in the teaching (public) hospitals and certainly not in the private hospitals, as I'm now discovering in Chiang Mai. The doctors and technicians at Siripat Hospital (CMU) are in a totally different league to any I've ever met at Bumrungrad or Bangkok/Phuket, they actually care about medicine and healing rather than just fee income,

i had a surgery done at public vachira a while ago.

I was sat into a room of 50 people on bed then transfered to the operating room which was a very open room with no AC and i was laid down on a cheap wooden table.. nothing seemed clean and i would know i worked a few months in my youth as a operating room clean up guy. Thank god i was transfered to bangkok hospital right after the surgery and i wont ever go back to vachira even for cold medecine.

but then again.. i saw a spine specialist at bangkok hospital who knew less about spines than an highschool student would, he sure knew a lot about trying to squeeze payments and physical rehab(<deleted>? for a spinal question?)

and i also had a terrible time with a bitch pediatrician at mission who wouldn't let us take the kid home with swine flu when the hospital is WAY too dirty for a good recovery. I had to scream at her and put her back in the kitchen where she belongs

i still prefer mission above all else though.. other pediatrician are good, dentist is good and the general doctors are very good even with all the dust and germs everywhere

  2. mont-clair and all the imported bottles that are about the same price as the horrible tasting thai waters are still here at the same price.. adn the locally filtered white bottles too(and taste better)

People are really bored if all they have to do in their day is panic over the shortage of the worst water in thailand

  3. Not convinced !

I drink Ozone machine water since years and its very good, only some people who fear their own shadow prefer to pay for expensive useless bottles...

And about the water, if you let it go progressively from the beginning, what is the problem ?

Those machines are not cleaned and are dirty. The big white bottles and the delivered blue bottles are fine though. I actually like them more than the average bottled water, but less than the imported Italian from volcano source

just dont use those cheap machine on street corners.. NEVER CLEANED.

  4. Im almost certain that the way those vans are made is unsafe even for a professional driver.. looks like it could tip over with no effort.

Also how do you get from highspeed on the right lane to trees in the left lane? oh ya.. cutting traffic from the left. I have a huge smile from seeing that picture with the driver suffering. dont <deleted> cut people from the left motorbike lane.

Hope those tourist get better and find a way to sue the company and the driver.

  5. I will be leaving thailand in a few months and i dont really want to part with my cat. Is there a company that can send it abroad? I wont be able to take it as luggage because my flight is 30hours~.. a few layovers and i will use methods to find the best deal possible. I doubt its possible to take the cat in the cabin or unless i book with a big airline directly and lose a lot of $ on the price?

  6. Is this a joke? how would you be able to take 3 kids out of school in england for 6 months+ including a daughter who is nearly 15 and will have her GCSE's next year. Your telling me you would disrupt your whole family just so you can go and sit on a dirty beach in pattaya! You dont care your wife doesnt want to go, you dont care old falangs will be perving at your daughter, this cannot be for real.

No it is.. this is why i only have 2 friends in this country and really dont want to meet anyone else anymore. Parents at school make me cringe and i almost weep for them everyday at pickup time.

  7. 30 baht meals are crap. no other words describes the food better than crap and shit that turns kids into lethargic deadbeats. Of course now that some thai posts this on a newspaper its bs and their cheap fast-food suddenly becomes god's gift to humanity.

Keep trolling and making up stories on how those cheap rice meals contain all the needed minerals, vitamins, proteins, carbs and calories for a healthy young child supposedly running around all day and growing. Very mature of you.

  8. kids being underfed are going to be lethargic and small.. its a simple fact for those of us who have finished our high schools and not here living off scraps and pretending everything is fine.

Reminds me of threads where poor parents are defending thai "private" schools where their english teachers think 15 is fiveteen. Then after 5pages they admit they cant afford better but they still defended the school at first.

Thai meals are horrible for children especially preparer in restaurants. They give you even less than you're suposed to get.

I bet that if any of the 30bath mealers here have a nagging wife and they would feed her just a simple diet of potatoes, full chicken breast and a full bowl of brocoli 3 times a day their wives would become the most pleasant person in the world.

Its a simple fact that the food we consume reflects on our body, brain and emotions. Basic cheap thai food by itself is about 20% of what is needed. Laughable how some consider empty rice calories that burn in 5mins a "meal"

  9. No that's not what you said, read it, you said that eating rice based meals was not good. That is nonsense. Eating something like moo grapo or khao pat ghai ( spelt wrong I know) is nutritious and we are lucky to live in Thailand where it costs 30 baht and not the £5 it would cost in the UK

    IT IS NOT NUTRITIONAL

The shitplate they sell at 30baht have lots of rice, 3 piece of overcooked meat with no nutriment left(with meat that was left in the sun all day long) and then they dare to put 2-3 leaves of veggies, less than 1 cm of carrots and sometimes 2 slices of cucumber. if you get an egg you're lucky.

However if my gf or a real cook makes a friend rice with 4-5 veggies and loits of meat then its good. but you wont get that for under 100baht.and even then its nothing compared to food from most other asian countries/west countries

  10. the food IS the reason why thai kids are suffering. If i go to the park with my 3year old. he'll be taller and stronger than all kids under 6 unless they have a non-poor farang parent feeding them good meats, good wheat and good veggies. A poor farang feeding his kid rice based meals will have a small and inanimate kid just like most thai kids are (i rarely see thai kids ever moving outside of the 30mins a day reserved for their parents showing off at the parks/restaurants)

Same goes with adults, if you feed me some rice based thai meal and i get to work, i be on auto pilot doing retarded stuff. If i eat a good steak with mashed potatoes and a few veggies i'll be alert.

last 2 months we had no time to cook and ate a lot of riced based meals and our kid was getting out of control. cranky, annoying and unwilling to learn any small new thing.. 2weeks back on good home cooked meals and we don't even have to punish him most days.

You don't have to punish him most days? Who are you? You are simply talking nonsense. So the Chinese, Koreans Japanese etc are stupid because they eat rice and don't eat steaks every day?? Live in the real world, give your child a break. Basic essential nutrition is important, other than that the rest is just stupidity.

so why do you reply when thats exactly what i said?

thai food at 20-40baht a pop is NOT basic nutrition, is terrible for your health and is NOT enough for a growing child.

this is the same problem with ghetto neighborhood and mcdonalds in the west.

  11. yes, blame the food ! ,

  12. thx for the replies its just the aircon it a huge one, and it costs a fortune to run but i didnt think of using the "dry" mode! il give it a try thankyou...

if you run it at 25 for 8hrs a night it wont cost much more than 1000baht.. set it higher and its even cheaper..

  13. from experience they're all what you expect..

unclean, overly expensive and the food is tasteless..

standard thai food for busy areas/tourist spots

If you want good food on a view point, theres a lot of them including rang hill in phuket town. Theres 2 good restaurants.

  14. i dont know about you but im going home in a few months and i just saw a manual nissan 350z shiny black for 400 000baht..

wont notice any of those porscha :jap:

Yep, nice car when talking farang used car prices.

I was a bit of a Nissan nut in my late teens/early 20's - back then I had a heavily tricked up Skyline GT-R and loved it to bits.

I'm now 37 though, and fortunate enough to be able to afford the real thing - on paper they seem close, but the real differences quickly come to light behind the wheel.

That said, I'd still like a test drive of an Infinity FX50 if they ever enter TH officially ;)

ill post some videos from the infinity dealer once i get back home haha

g35 is my all time favorite non-spitinyourface car.. affordable.. speedy and classy.
