  1. I guess you're not enjoying the hypocrisy of banning TikTok on gub'ment devices, as a national security threat, then embracing it for her election campaign. It'll be interesting to see how that works out...
  2. I'd bet $50 that Kamala doesn't even know how to set up a TikTok account, and that every post is carefully curated by her handlers.
  3. Burdened by all those 5 course meals that happened in her past?
  4. Yet another answer to the question, "is it a good idea to drink the tap water?" Years ago, the concensus among posters who knew water systems was that the water coming from the municipal sources left the waterworks fine, but old pipes and poorly maintained storage along the way made it unwise to count on safe drinking water. Even if the condo management does what they should, I'd still get a filter system, and I'd be prepared to spend some coin on the hardware, and expert installation. And I'd still only use tap water to bathe, and MAYBE to cook boiled food. But why risk it? Bottled water is cheap. BTW, there's a zillion hawkers of water filters in Khlong Thom market in Chinatown. Obviously, there are plenty of other choices, but it's a great place to compare a bunch of choices in one spot.
  5. Dang, man. They could have at least pixelated the guy on the left with his nutsack hanging out.
  6. Did you consider that maybe the crime rate is down because more bad guys and gals are locked up?
  7. Last week in Thailand I watched some YouTube montages of MSM pundits praising Harris for being Border Czar, then flash forward to election year, and the same pundits are claiming she was never Border Czar. I hope I downloaded one or two since I'm back where YouTube is blocked. I'm in the subway, where links are hard to come by. No wonder fewer and fewer people believe the MSM.
  8. How many did they alienate against their cause? More than they attracted...
  9. Smoke and mirrors and projections that will never come true. Look at public, corporate, and family debt. Then look at mortgage default rates, and credit card delinquency, bankruptcy filings and a myriad of other metrics, and the picture looks precarious. Look at Adams' request for $12 billion dollars to get through 4 years of NYC dealing with just 110,000 "newcomers ", then scale that up by a factor of 100 for the 10 million the administration has let in. Biden announced he was in it to win it just a few hours/ days before he was forced out in a bloodless coup.
  10. I think Mayor Pete could eventually be a good president. But first he needs a little seasoning in the Big Leagues to see if they'll be able manipulate him like they have Joe. Then, he needs to get out from under the disaster of an administration he has been part of, and become his own man. The biggest pox I could wish on the guy would be to become Harris's VP pick, and be associated with her for the rest of his career. You just can't shake that off. Edit: If Big Mike does run, I'd much rather see Mayor Pete as VP than Gavin the walking, talking California disaster.
  11. Funny. I say the same thing about CNN and MSDNC. But I still link to them if they beat the right wing rags to the story. Usually, they're hours behind. Sometimes days, waiting for their talking points from the DNC.
  12. ‘Good grief’: Olympic Games hands out over 200,000 condoms in Paris And cardboard beds that collapse under weight... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t9h7QY3ynd0
  13. I got the cards so I don't have to wait in a queue every time I hop on the MRT and BTS. At peak times, it's quite a queue. For that, I had to whip out my passport. Gladly. Edit: I'd add that having a card, I can change my mind mid-journey and hop off at a different destination.
  14. U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said on Saturday that the global transition to a low-carbon economy requires $3 trillion in new capital each year through 2050, far above current annual financing, but that filling the gap is the biggest economic opportunity of the 21st century. Yellen said in Belem, Brazil's Amazon gateway city, that reaching net-zero emissions goals remained a top priority for the Biden-Harris administration and this would require leadership far beyond U.S. borders. https://www.reuters.com/sustainability/sustainable-finance-reporting/yellen-says-3-trillion-needed-annually-climate-financing-far-more-than-current-2024-07-27/ That's $78,000,000,000,000 by 2050. Then, adjust for inflation... No comment... Edit: Someone please check to see if I got the zeros right. Hard to count that high.
  15. I didn't even ask for it. They looked at the age on my passport that I had to present to update an old card from Pre-Covid. They gave me an Elder Card instead.
  16. Sorry for the confusion. Those are 2 separate statements. BIC just makes the pens. The ones that a court case in Georgia demonstrated can be used to reprogram the voting machines. There are printers in every state waiting to know whose names will go on the ballots. And how many will be sent to the mules. There's still a good chance they'll throw her under the bus at (or even before) the DNC convention if her numbers don't look good.
  17. BIC is running three shifts at their pen factory. But they still don't know what name to put on the ballots.
  18. Water long since under the bridge. In my adult life, I've chosen black roommates, in 3 states. But I still avoid crowds of angry black people. And so did my roommates.
  19. Scott Adams (of Dilbert fame) summarized it pretty well in his book "Loserthink" I'm distilling and paraphrasing, but I think the gist is here: People with good arguments, use them. People with no arguments, resort to personal attacks and name calling. https://www.amazon.com/Loserthink-Untrained-Brains-Ruining-America/dp/0593083520 Of course, Adams was called out for advising white folks to avoid large groups of angry black people, after the Summer of Love and mostly peaceful beatings and arson. Which I thought was pretty good advice, having been mugged twice in my school years when I happened across groups of angry blacks, while trying to mind my own business. BTW, it's a good book, and I get nothing if you click the Amazon link.
  20. I don't know. But that was the big insult when I was in grade school.
  21. Your Mama wears army boots.
  22. You give yourself away when you call it a bipartisan bill. Unless you can name the Repubs that were involved, you're just puking up Dem/MSM talking points. Can you name even a few Repubs?
  23. You mean like Biden's been blaming the Repubs for his border fiasco?
  24. I got on Obamacare. Cost me $1,400 a month with a $5,000 deductible. Not exactly the Affordable Care we were promised, and they still claim it to be... Not hard to imagine some of his programs were derailed while he fought off ridiculous impeachment attempts and had to fight the Dems at every turn on the border.
  25. And next year, when a different mob is in power and they censor what you agree with?
