  1. I tend to agree. However, I personally have noticed it more since the covidiocy spamdemic, especially when we were branded as dirty Farangs by the individual we have been discussing. He wears a uniform, thereby, according to the Thai education brainwashing system, he must be right.
  2. I like it, You used professional, and officer in the same sentence......
  3. I am not computer savvy, so it is taking a bit of time to understand some of the posts, It is, however, interesting to read, and learn what Windows is doing. My main complaint with Windows 11 is the 30 second lag between closing one window on the desktop, and opening another. I have looked online to no avail, as it seems Microsoft is ignoring this problem totally. A small inconvenience, I admit, but still a nuisance when you are sitting waiting for the desktop icon to highlight before you can open it.
  4. True, but the whole Government does not bother about what the Voters want either.
  5. I would not be too quick to praise him, He is a well known Xenophobic Racist that hates Foreigners in His Country. God help us if he ever gets the top position.
  6. Obviously, judging by all your posts he is your hero, maybe a huge poster on the ceiling above your bed.
  7. You need to ease back on the drugs. My post has absolutely nothing to do with doctors.
  8. Wow, and they deduced that little gem after only seeing him in their establishment for what?.....6 hours? ...Brilliant.
  9. So they can get their troops and tanks down through Thailand quicker. LMAO.......What about the new power stations under construction in China........ Coal power continues to expand in China, despite the government's pledges and goals. In the first half of 2023, construction was started on 37 gigawatts (GW) of new coal power capacity, 52 GW was permitted, while 41 GW of new projects were announced and 8 GW of previously shelved projects were revived
  10. Looks like they left out the 20 other chemically, and genetically modified ingredients. Maybe so some people would not question it....
  11. In the nineties when flying from the Middle East the planes were often only a quarter full, if that. (Ah, the good old days), The cabin crew used to make us sit in the allocated seats for take off, but then we could move around and sleep across three seats. They said it was for weight distribution during take off. We were also asked to return to our original seats for landing.
  12. Yes. Marriage paperwork is 38 pages, duplicated equals 76. You have to provide every page of your passport that bears a Thai stamp, regardless of how old, copies of marriage papers, affidavits that still married from local amphur, copies of Wife's i.d. , copy of her tabien bahn from home village, copies of our tabien banh for house in Hua Hin, including pages 1, 18, first blank page, and signature page, copies of our Son's birth certificate, his i.d., house purchase papers, or house contract, three months internet & power bills with my name on, map to house, including google co-ordinates, letter from bank, updated bank book, no later than 24 hours before, photos inside and outside house, wearing different clothes, and finally, all these papers must be placed in the correct order as listed by immigration.
  13. Surprised it made the news, it is a regular occurrence out here every week, some drunken moron takes out a power pole on a bend, normally about midnight. Have to give the power guys a high five though, it now only takes them a couple of hours and power is back on.
  14. I did my extension based on marriage for the first four years, then it just got ridiculous. Apart from 76 pages of paperwork, a letter from the local amphor to say we are still married, two sets of picture, outside the house with the house number clearly visible, then change clothes, and take photo by the front door, change clothes, and take photo in the lounge, and yes, we had to have a photo sitting on the bed, again, with different clothes, ( at least we kept the clothes on !!). The final straw was that four days before the visa ran out we had a call from immigration. Now, all photos had to include our Son as well. I went to the office and said, firstly he is dual nationality, and secondly what if he is in Chiang Mai in University. All I got was a shrug of shoulders, and told that is what Bangkok wants now. Changed the following year to simple extension to stay, one piece of paper, and a photograph of just me.
  15. Pass the parcel, or envelope. Box ticked, "I ordered an investigation".......there ends his responsibility as we all know what they will find. Anyone for a game of charades......
  16. Must be monetary inflation.............sorry, getting my coat..........
  17. Very true, about three years ago the Brother In Law borrowed our truck for a day. Next morning I noticed the front plate was missing. He was as surprised as myself, and said to the Wife that he can get a new one from a friend for 700 Baht. I flatly refused, and insisted on a police report. This we took to the Tessabahn and applied for a new plate. While waiting we were stopped two times because no plate, but showed the letter to prove we were waiting. New plate cost around 150 Baht including the report. It took some time, but the Wife finally understood that without the report anyone could fit our plate to the front of the car and we would get the fines in the post, regardless of whether it was a correct model vehicle or not. It would then be our responsibility to prove it was not our vehicle.
  18. Look on the bright side, the pavements will be that little bit cleaner.
  19. Apparently, when you go to renew your road tax it pops up you have unpaid fines, and you have to clear them before you can tax your vehicle. However, we renewed our tax the day before we paid the ticket, so that system is still in it's infancy. On the other hand, if you do not tax your car..........my B.I.L. car last tax sticker is 63.........
  20. Good job they went after the naughty Farang ordering a gun online. Cue the ubiquitous taxi man returns wallet with 10 million baht in it.
  21. I thought that about two years ago Big Joke stated that after extensive efforts there were no more overstayers in Thailand.......
  22. Mine is due to start at any time now. I will wait and see what pans out, but it looks like Cambodia may be my next stop as we live close to the border. Or will they implement it too? We will see.
