so going on your numbers it'll only be a few baht for 5 minutes,  approx 7 baht ....  I use it to call overseas,  it's cheap and the call quality is fine.  When you register,  when you register,  and then add any number it'll give you a local number to call ... then it's diverted to your requested number overseas.

    Yes indeed it is ????

Well i saw my Urologist in Korat and had a good chat with him regarding my lower stomach discomfort, my poor urine flow and possible urine retention. He suggested my lower stomach pain could be as a result of the constipation i was still suffering from from time to time and i have to say that its all but disappeared the last few days.

When i questioned him as to why my Turp procedure was an apparent failure when others was a success he said not all patients problems were the same and Turp recipients responded differently.

He suggested he prescribe me some meds to help with the urine retention/flow for the next four weeks, so he prescribed Ucholine 10mg tablets (Bethanechol Chloride 10mg) and i have an appointment for two weeks time to see how i am. He also stated if there was no improvement he would schedule a cystoscope to have a lookie.

As a matter of interest i asked him what my PSA was and he produced a printed report stating it was 1.237 which was well below the 4 unacceptable level.

Here's hoping my next visit is positive......

Some good news in amongst that lot, because if the pain was caused by constipation, then that's an easy fix, and as I suffer from it almost constantly, prune juice does it for me!

Don't know what to make about his answer to your question regarding the apparent failure of your Turp, but then maybe you will be lucky!

I was prescribed the Ucholine tablets for my lack of bladder emptying, but they made no difference whatsoever, so let's hope your outcome is more positive.

Great to hear that your PSA is low.

    Update guys......

I cancelled my appointment because i'm peeing ok at the mo but i am visiting the loo a couple of times a night and 5/6 times during the day , not a constant flow all the time just 6/7 spurts but i have no pain or discomfort so i can't see that i would have an infection due to urine retention.

As this urologist can only carry out the Turp procedure (he's already done for me back in January) i can't see he's much use to me if indeed i need another procedure.

I'm still taking the meds he prescribed but i'm not convinced they are doing anything for me, i'm gonna stop taking them after today as i've run out, lets see how i react, i don't like taking meds for nothing !!!

That’s actually relatively expensive, due to the lack of a WiFi/mobile data calling option, which obviates the need to pay the extra for local calling costs. So you’d only pay 0.4 baht per minute.

But it pails into total insignificance compared to what i was paying DTAC prior to signing up to Mytello. I must investigate Skype but im a bit of a com dino lol

I recently called HMRC and i timed the call to approx 60 mins, i was on hold for most of it lol, i priced the call at approx 84bht. 0.4bht/min to Mytello and 1bht/min to DTAC.

Melatonin (get online from Shoppee, Lazada or iHerb). Personally I need 5 - 10 mg but everyone is different. Stick to known brands like Puritan Pride, Natrol, Nature's Bounty.

Sominar (doxylamine) 25 mg or hydroxyzine  25 mg can both be bought  over the counter. They are actually antihistamines but have a sedative effect and often used for sleep especially the Sominar.  Action tends to be prolonged so take only when you have plenty of time to sleep. Some people feel groggy next day.

Thanks for that recco Sheryl, i've just ordered Natrol 5mg from Lazada, 935bht for 100 tabs inc delivery, here's hoping it will do the job.

correct ....  it will cost about 50 baht for 5 minutes ....

Don't know how you arrive at that figure, here's the Mytello rates Thailand - UK......

0.4bht/min to a UK landline and 1.7bht/min to a mobile. From memory my provider DTAC also charged me 1bht per minute, now do 0800 numbers attract a higher charge ?

  7. Just turn on the charm or plead for some understanding at check in, it can work. When leaving the UK to take up residency permanently in Thailand to be with my newly acquired wifey i was 12kg over my baggage allowance and that was duly pointed out to me by the attractive check in lady. I replied to her in my best chat up way ''can you please please just overlook this matter as i'm moving to Thailand permanently to be with my new wife''

She just smiled and waved me through lol

    It's not a Pound thing, it's a Baht surge.

Yes the Baht has surged due to the optimism of Thailand's new parliament but.......

LONDON (Reuters - The pound fell on Wednesday after data showed UK inflation slowed faster than expected in June, relieving some of the pressure on the Bank of England to keep raising interest rates.

British annual consumer price inflation fell to a lower than expected 7.9% in June, according to government statistics, below a forecast for a decline to 8.2%.

Thai law says any death of a foreigner must be investigated and an autopsy carried out, not necessarily just the 'suspicious' ones. Recalling previous events and 'mysteries', the autopsy will be done at some police hospital down Surat Thani way. There's nothing to stop a second autopsy being carried out on the repatriation of the lad's body. I recall that this is also the case in the UK where a Coroner's inquest is performed. Unfortunately, the findings are diminished by the time elapsed since the death and there may also be difficulties getting the original autopsy report.

I think i'm right in saying that a second autopsy can be carried out as a matter of urgency on request in Thailand at a selected hospital of your choice providing you pay the costs.

Now if you had any doubt regarding the accuracy of the first autopsy surely one would want a second opinion.

    Just sayin like......

    RIP young fella. So young.

Horrible for the family he has been torn from.

As yet no definitive understanding and statement about how he died. The Thaiger article doesn't give any more info either.

How strange is this island? A lot of nasty murders, suicides, and misadventures it seems.

Don't know about any of you folks but no way we'll ever set foot on the place!

Never in a million years would i.

It possibly depends on what province the DL bureau is located?  The Phuket DL accepted my yellow-book/Pink-ID card combination (and hence I did not need to get a COR from immigration) when I last renewed my Thai driver's licence.

Mine is located 10 mins away from my home in Nakhon Ratchasima, why they would'nt accept my yellow book/pink card beggars belief. I obtained both the yellow book/pink card whilst being resident in NR.

Last time I renewed my DL, the DLT office would have accepted my Pink Card etc. for renewal BUT they said it would be restricted to driving within the local area - not a lot of use then! I renewed using my PP.

I've not heard of a geographically-restricted full licence before or since then and have no idea how such a restriction would have been implemented or enforced - except in typical Thai fashion, i.e. not at all.

The mind boggles ehh lol, Tell me how can you use your PP as it does'nt show your address, well mine does'nt lol

I think its just all b******* dolled out by totally inept incompetent people who have'nt got a clue what their doing.
