Thanks for that recco Sheryl, i've just ordered Natrol 5mg from Lazada, 935bht for 100 tabs inc delivery, here's hoping it will do the job.
Well i received the tabs and have been taking for the last 2 nights approx 20 mins prior to getting me head down. Now prior to taking the tabs my sleeping routine was get me head down between 10.30pm and 11pm and then i would sleep no probs but only for between 3-4 hours.
I have to say that taking these tabs does'nt do anything to extend my sleeping time so i'm thinking should i just take 1 tab when i wake up after the usual 3-4 hours or should i take one 5mg tab before sleeping AND another 1 tab when i wake up or just take 10mg when i wake up.
What do you think @sheryl111080 ? Your advice would be appreciated along with any BM's, TIA

Where i go in Pattaya a very thorough clean is 600 baht
The total bill was made up of 800B for the clean, 500B for the x ray and 100B for sterilisation but she was a real pretty young gal when i got her to take her mask off lol, the 800B for the clean is pretty standard where i live in Korat.

Me, spoken to people/friends from my schools from 60 years back, exchanged photos etc, so please keep your 'existence' to yourself and crack on.........

UK NHS dentists have been ripping-off patients (& NHS of course) since it's creation. I personally have had many unnecessary fillings with shoddy workmanship and read of horror stories of children's jaws being premanently damaged. I too have had good experiences with my Thai dentist. Treatment has been professional, painless and most economical.
I went to my dentist yesterday here in Thailand at a local clinic, what a pleasant experience it was. She was totally professional and x rayed my teeth and then discussed with me any problems with them, then proceeded to clean them and did an excellent job, cost 1400bht.

Roof leaks can be hard to find. The water can travel down the inside of the roof before it starts hitting your ceiling.
Perhaps get someone to paint the roof with a waterseal product if you don't want to replace the roof. Make sure it cleaned very good first.
Bingo, thats exactly what i had done on the effected area, no more leaking for the first time in 15 years. I've lost count of the number of workmen that have attempted to solve the problem including the developer who built the house.

I had that carried out by a company in Bangkok that used to advertise in the Bangkok post, cost 13K IIRC. It never solved the problem, the leak continued.

Guys, I have a story to tell of an unfortunate experience i was subjected to in a private hospital that was in mine and my Thai wifey's opinion (she was in attendance with me) utterly appalling and totally unprofessional and demonstrated what a piece of s... this so called doc was.
Never in a million years would i have received the same treatment from a doc or anyone in the medical profession in the UK.
But i will refrain from doing so as i've already said enough imo, if anyone's interested i will PM you in the next few days, i've got a busy time ahead of me.

At my local Govt hospital, I am required TO TAKE MY OWN BLOOD PRESSURE, HEIGHT & WEIGHT, and show the results to the 'booking in' nurse.
I use the BP results I took that morning and saved in my phone, my height & weight don't change much. Saying that, I went for Yellow Book last week and they had to take my photo against a height scale. I am shown as 172 tall, even though I have been 176 for decades. Checked at home.........176!
I do exactly the same thing due to the ''white coat syndrome'' ????

Probably once you get a high blood pressure reading insurers may use to deny claim due to pre-existing condition
Guys i'll restrict my posting to replies, its not very nice if i don't reply.
Good point but i've never experienced this practice in any doctors surgery or any of the private hospitals i've attended in the UK(the doc would take if he deemed it necessary) . I would also add i don't see that could possibly be the case due to the ''white coat syndrome'', it would never stack up in a court imo

Before you even get to see the doc you are required to have your blood pressure, height and weight checked, i wonder why ?
I know, its good practice, its got nothing to do with money lmao. Its a shame our UK doctors surgeries don't do the same thing lmao again.........

My other half of 26 years plus is a bit more westernized and well traveled and will face them off.
Back on track, if she had pointed some things out as ' areas of concern ' I would have listened more, but when she was basically trying to get the hospital bed booked and the CT scan, I found it a turn off.
I reported recently on the board I had a colonoscopy at my local government hospital. I am privately insured but with a deductible of 40,000 baht. I really only want health insurance for inpatient and any major issues, Dental, Eyes, OPD, I will pay as I go.
They did the entire procedure with overnight private room and including removal of a polyp and biopsy for 10,000 baht. Bangkok hospital was in the range of 40-50K plus extras they charge at every opportunity, but that is all private hospitals..
Your post is so very true in every respect, i too flit from one of my local government hospitals and one of the private hospitals according to my needs. I have to self insure as my pre-existing conditions prevent me from having insurance so i'm conscious when it comes to the treatment/bills i'm going to be presented with.
I imagine because most of the customers that present themselves to private hospitals are probaly carrying insurance and could'nt care a less how much the bill is as they are not paying it tends to fuel the rip off practices. All those that are carrying insurance imo should take more interest in the makeup of their eventual bill and how its arrived at then perhaps their premium increases would not be so upsetting and eye watering.

I think i should say that after living here for getting on 17 years with my lovely Thai wifey i've learned not to become a regular Thai basher, its not fair on them BUT every now and again an issue arises that i must deliver some bashing cos its bloody well deserved and this is one such issue imo ????

She did say I had ' dry eyes ' and she would give me eye drops, she didn't say they would charge 450 baht for drops you can buy outside for 50 baht and yes, pharmacy and cashier adjacent to each other.
IME the doc will not know the cost of any meds he's prescribing but for sure he'll know that they will be charging you a rip off price compared to a local pharmacy, the docs must be receiving some payment from the meds they prescribe imo

I've learned from experience that they will prescribe meds without actually telling you that they have and you only find out when you go to the cashiers/hospital pharmacy which is always ime next door to each other and you present the docs you're given and they liase and present you the bill and the meds with instructions of how to take. I now ASK the doc if he's prescribing meds if he does'nt indicate to me when face to face.
Beggars belief but its true !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As for stones again argument for not operating unless causing a problem.
Doctors here at private hospitals are basically sales people
You only have to look at the costs for prescribed meds which they will prescribe in abundance and compare them against the costs from your local pharmacy.
Once i realised their ''game'' i now buy ALL my meds from Siam pharmacy and i inform the docs accordingly and surprise surprise the honest docs agree with me.

5 hours ago, Scouse123 said:I went for annual check package and chose the executive package at just over 13,000 baht.
All went well and results were fine and no major concerns........................ at first.
The doctor who does the summary at the end and hands you the printed report said they were unsure and had a slight problem.
They were not sure whether or not I had a small gallstone or a tumor. On closer investigation and with me looking at the screen, we pointed out, by the date shown, that what we were looking at was from last years medical report, not this years!.............!!
It turned out another nurse had mistakenly removed my whole abdomen check from the list of procedures to be carried out that day and it had not been done at all on this hospital visit
By this time, I had dressed and already eaten and drank as they told me everything was done and finished, and so it was impossible that day to then have the abdomen checked.
They asked me to return on Tuesday July 25th, at which point I pointed out, it was a 4 hour round trip from our house in Kalasin and I was best pleased and neither did a 'we apologize ' cut it.
After profuse apologies, I must now return on Tuesday to get the whole abdomen checked and find out whether or not this is a gallstone tumor or not. Another 4 hour trip.
All my blood tests were either within range or normal except for one slightly ' elevated ' cholesterol level. The accepted range being up to 200 and I was 205. So nothing untoward was flashing up during the blood tests.
She stated if further investigation was needed regards gallstone or tumor, then a CT scan would be required and if it was an operation, it would be a two day stay in the hospital. I'll be honest, when she gave me some symptoms I told her I had experienced nothing of what she was talking about and nothing unusual such as bloating that she mentioned.
I said it was early days to be saying such things so prematurely without even having the abdomen checked and speaking about a load of options that were not as yet known or on the table.
This is not the first time this doctor has quickly tried to recommend procedures and possible operations, she did the same last year and had me fretting over nonsense.
Last year she was talking about my carotid arteries and that it was partially blocked by 23% and 30%
When I checked in the UK with my ENT nurses they said these arteries were massive and that the doctor was talking nonsense with these levels for a 60 year old man that it was nothing out of the ordinary.
My other half was convinced she was just trying to generate revenue for the hospital.
Bingo, i am very distrustful of the private hospital network here in Thailand, we are customers not patients. I will question the docs respectfully on every issue that they recommend treatment for after all said and done TIT where imo ''its all about the money''

Good luck
Im scheduled for a rezum procedure on the 8th of August ! My biggest concern is having to have a catheter ( doctor recommended 2 weeks) in me!
Thanks, and good luck to you on your Rezum procedure. Now i too was really concerned about the catheter that i had in place for 1 week but in reality it was no problem, i think you'll find you too will be fine but i agree the prospect of having something inserted in through your manhood is not something to look forward to.
Please keep up updated on your procedure and progress, its something that i find very helpful and informative and no doubt other boardies feel the same.

Thailand’s household-debt storm taking deadly toll on guarantors
in Thailand News
Posted · Edited by Pumpuynarak
Don't ever guarantor anyone unless they or you are on a guaranteed affordable income (pension springs to mind) but i know thats easily said the reality is very different. I was asked by our bank to guarantor wifey's house purchase, no problem my pension easily covered the monthly repayments. Wifey had no income to meet the repayments, go figure lol
