I think i should say that after living here for getting on 17 years with my lovely Thai wifey i've learned not to become a regular Thai basher, its not fair on them BUT every now and again an issue arises that i must deliver some bashing cos its bloody well deserved and this is one such issue imo ????

I've learned from experience that they will prescribe meds without actually telling you that they have and you only find out when you go to the cashiers/hospital pharmacy which is always ime next door to each other and you present the docs you're given and they liase and present you the bill and the meds with instructions of how to take. I now ASK the doc if he's prescribing meds if he does'nt indicate to me when face to face. Beggars belief but its true !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You only have to look at the costs for prescribed meds which they will prescribe in abundance and compare them against the costs from your local pharmacy. Once i realised their ''game'' i now buy ALL my meds from Siam pharmacy and i inform the docs accordingly and surprise surprise the honest docs agree with me.

Bingo, i am very distrustful of the private hospital network here in Thailand, we are customers not patients. I will question the docs respectfully on every issue that they recommend treatment for after all said and done TIT where imo ''its all about the money''

Thanks, and good luck to you on your Rezum procedure. Now i too was really concerned about the catheter that i had in place for 1 week but in reality it was no problem, i think you'll find you too will be fine but i agree the prospect of having something inserted in through your manhood is not something to look forward to. Please keep up updated on your procedure and progress, its something that i find very helpful and informative and no doubt other boardies feel the same.

Update guys...... I cancelled my appointment because i'm peeing ok at the mo but i am visiting the loo a couple of times a night and 5/6 times during the day , not a constant flow all the time just 6/7 spurts but i have no pain or discomfort so i can't see that i would have an infection due to urine retention. As this urologist can only carry out the Turp procedure (he's already done for me back in January) i can't see he's much use to me if indeed i need another procedure. I'm still taking the meds he prescribed but i'm not convinced they are doing anything for me, i'm gonna stop taking them after today as i've run out, lets see how i react, i don't like taking meds for nothing !!!

But it pails into total insignificance compared to what i was paying DTAC prior to signing up to Mytello. I must investigate Skype but im a bit of a com dino lol
-
I recently called HMRC and i timed the call to approx 60 mins, i was on hold for most of it lol, i priced the call at approx 84bht. 0.4bht/min to Mytello and 1bht/min to DTAC.

Over the counter stress/anxiety/sleeping meds?
Pumpuynarak replied to cocoonclub's topic in Health and Medicine
Thanks for that recco Sheryl, i've just ordered Natrol 5mg from Lazada, 935bht for 100 tabs inc delivery, here's hoping it will do the job. -
Don't know how you arrive at that figure, here's the Mytello rates Thailand - UK...... 0.4bht/min to a UK landline and 1.7bht/min to a mobile. From memory my provider DTAC also charged me 1bht per minute, now do 0800 numbers attract a higher charge ?

Sneaking through airport security with an expired Thai DL?
Pumpuynarak replied to Hal65's topic in Thailand Travel Forum
Just turn on the charm or plead for some understanding at check in, it can work. When leaving the UK to take up residency permanently in Thailand to be with my newly acquired wifey i was 12kg over my baggage allowance and that was duly pointed out to me by the attractive check in lady. I replied to her in my best chat up way ''can you please please just overlook this matter as i'm moving to Thailand permanently to be with my new wife'' She just smiled and waved me through lol -
Sneaking through airport security with an expired Thai DL?
Pumpuynarak replied to Hal65's topic in Thailand Travel Forum
Thinking again and in view of what my mate said to the police does it really matter if its run out, its being able to establish your identity that matters and the DL does that whether its run out or not. -
Sneaking through airport security with an expired Thai DL?
Pumpuynarak replied to Hal65's topic in Thailand Travel Forum
I would'nt chance it, have'nt you got any other alternatives ? Reminds me of a mate of mine when he was driving me around in Thailand and we got pulled over at a police checkpoint. The officer requested his Thai DL so my mate gave it to him and he said ''but its expired'', my mate said yes but at least i've got one lol -
GBP/THB rate sharp dive
Pumpuynarak replied to omnipresent's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Yes the Baht has surged due to the optimism of Thailand's new parliament but....... LONDON (Reuters - The pound fell on Wednesday after data showed UK inflation slowed faster than expected in June, relieving some of the pressure on the Bank of England to keep raising interest rates. British annual consumer price inflation fell to a lower than expected 7.9% in June, according to government statistics, below a forecast for a decline to 8.2%. -
I think i'm right in saying that a second autopsy can be carried out as a matter of urgency on request in Thailand at a selected hospital of your choice providing you pay the costs. Now if you had any doubt regarding the accuracy of the first autopsy surely one would want a second opinion. Just sayin like......
