  1. Much like many western “powers”.
  2. I’ve read many western reports and articles claiming that but never once heard it from Putin himself.
  3. You are of course entitled to believe whatever you like. Some people even believe that the earth is flat…
  4. Just because you believe this does not make it fact. There are many other more learned, distinguished scholars who give other reasons, not one of which refers to Putin wanting to restore the Soviet Union.
  5. Are there any military experts on here who can enlighten some of us as to how such an attack can influence and or determine the outcome of this conflict or how it would help to slow down the advance of the Russian forces towards Porkrovsk and the Dnipro River? From a layman’s perspective, this is nothing more than an annoyance and a wastage of scarce resources providing nothing other than a false boost in morale.
  6. Buying gas from the US is giving money to fuel unrest and instability across the world. You've picked a side. The MIC thanks you.
  7. For running around town where range, speed and ride comfort are not major factors, a 2nd hand EV is a no brainer in my opinion. Minimal running costs, practically zero maintenance except for a weekly car wash. A year old car will still have a new car feel, unlike a 10 or 20 yr old Japanese car that some proposes. I would refuse the latter even if I was offered one for free.
  8. Comparing a Nissan Leaf with the current crop of Chinese EVs raises doubts about your knowledge about modern EVs.
  9. You are really a rather sad individual, especially with your unceasing use of childish emojis. I guess it’s true what they say about a 2nd childhood… Having said that, I’m making plans about staying a couple of months a year here. My overall quality of life will take a big jump.
  10. Not my problem if some of you never learned how to join the dots.
  11. Anyone who still thinks that China can only build junk has obviously never been or hasn’t been in recent years. I’m currently vacationing in China and I’m blown away by how advanced it is compared to the western world. For eg, - high speed rail, 350 kmh - GPS integrated with traffic lights ie the number of seconds before the lights turn is show on the GPS screen - vehicle number plate recognition in all car parks I’ve been to - ordering and paying taxis online, never having to wait more than 3 minutes or so and the taxis are even cleaner than my own car - payment at certain places using only facial recognition - free travel for above 60’s, regardless of nationality in the Szenchen MTR the list goes on. Before anyone mentions invasion of privacy with respect to facial recognition, no one I spoke to is concerned about it and they think it’s wonderful how convenient things are. The streets are wide and quiet and clean, the air is clean and almost 50% of the vehicles on the roads do not emit any tailpipe gases.
  12. The title of this thread contains both “sabotage” and “Baltic Sea” so how can my post talking about a recent sabotage in the Baltic Sea be off topic especially in response to a poster who thanked Putin, much like how a Polish foreign minister thanked the USA.
  13. If you need a link that suggested that it was one or more “western” state actors responsible for the NS sabotage and that it wasn’t Russia or China, then you really shouldn’t be participating in these forums…
  14. Lol. So what are you saying? That Russia blew up the NS pipelines? Some people are so gullible they are beyond help lol.
  15. There are over a hundred EV makers in China alone and just a handful of Japanese legacy automakers. The latter has been in business for decades so obviously they will not collapse overnight. But you are missing the point. EVs are going to be taking over from ICEVs. This is inevitable. Of course EVs will not comprise 100% of the auto market because there are certain scenarios that render them less efficient. But I believe that even in my lifetime, EVs will be the preferred choice for most normal car owners. China roads are a delight. Quiet, practically no visible tailpipe pollution. In a week, I only ever noticed one diesel vehicle emitting some fumes and this was in a rural area.
  16. Hundreds of links in western msm. You obviously haven’t been following any news. Seems like you don’t know how to use google either.
  17. As far as I know, the last known act of sabotage in the Baltic Sea was conducted by a “western” country although the jury is still out on which western country…
  18. Currently on holiday in China. Every taxi we took was an EV, smooth, quiet, comfortable. I won’t be surprised if some Japanese legacy automakers will be going out of business soon.
  19. Seems like no one is safe from “The Curse”
  20. The way I understood it, he actually was trying to charge 4 days after the upgrade but was still using the outdated app which doesn’t show any more stations. I wonder what was the problem he faced at the PEA Volta charger. He didn’t elaborate. Nevertheless, an interesting video. I would have bought the Ioniq if it had been available when I was looking but the infotainment features seem to leave a lot to be desired.
  21. As far as I can recall, all your posts have been anti EV to some extent or other. But hey, if you say you don’t dislike EVs…
  22. Of course only you know why dislike EVs as much as you do but as you have not made a single substantive point on why this is so, we can only guess and assume. Your hatred of China is well known, the frequency with which you bandy about terms like red, commie etc. So it goes to follow (for educated minds of course) that you are more likely than not, to dislike any products being made in that country. There are lots of reasons to dislike ICEVs such as the air pollution caused, especially by poorly maintained diesel vehicles, the huge number of moving parts, the amount of servicing and maintenance needed to keep it running. On the other hand, there isn’t really anything to dislike about EVs. Sure, some will inevitably bring up the relative lack of range, the time it takes to recharge etc. However these are issues that seem to matter only to anti-EVers. EV owners live very easily with these issues and being able to charge at home is in actuality a benefit and an advantage over an ICEV. If you want to be taken seriously, make one or two posts with actual content…
  23. The technology he knows is obsolete but he can’t bring himself to face up to it so all he can really do is post nonsensical stuff. I was wondering what it is that some have against EVs. Unlike with say diesel vehicles which can emit foul toxic fumes, EVs should be neutral at worst. Then I realised that it’s because the best EVs in the world are made in China and that’s why there are EV haters.
  24. Exactly. I don’t recall the CPC suppressing any minority groups either. I lived and worked in Singapore for about 4 years in the early 90’s. Was given PR status without the need to do military service. 4 years CPF savings was almost enough for me to buy my house in one of the home counties outright. Those were good times.
