  1. Is Ukraine winning? If no ammunition, no weapons, no men and losing 20% of your territory is winning, I shudder to think what losing looks like.
  2. Let’s listen to what a former US Ambassador to the Soviet Union, Jack Matlock Jr. has to say about the reasons and consequences of the current conflict. https://youtu.be/moEDnjH0sWU?si=tUoUz7zyFMchGjxm Very informative, unless he is branded a Russian apologist by the usual suspects. Otherwise, they might learn something truthful for a change.
  3. Desperation is not a pretty sight. Ask any Japanese (and I know lots, having worked for the largest Japanese firm in its industry) if they consider themselves western and they will look at you as if you have lost your marbles, which in this case, is most probably true. Know the meaning of gaijin?
  4. The west knows Ukraine cannot win. Only the suckers on here think that this is even remotely possible.
  5. What’s it to you even if this turns out to be true? Some people are affluent enough to not worry about small matters like depreciation or repair costs or insurance.
  6. What sort of battery chemistry does your e-bike have? Does it also have a BMS? As for a Camry Hybrid being comparable to an EV, you really don’t have a clue, do you? If your sister in law does frequent long distance trips, then she made a poor error in judgment buying an EV. It has been repeatedly stated that an EV is not suitable for someone that makes frequent long distance trips. Surely she wasn’t virtue signalling I hope. Many people who owns EVs do not have solar panels. You don’t need solar panels to charge an EV. It has also been stated repeatedly (obviously you haven’t been following the threads) that if you can’t charge at home (and that includes being able to install a wall charger), then an EV might not be suitable, depending on your transportation needs. It’s common sense really. If I don’t have somewhere to park a car, any car, then I really shouldn’t buy a car, should I? If I live in a condo that doesn’t allow pets, I shouldn’t own any pets, should I? If I have a Mia Noi and my wife will kill me if she finds out, then I shouldn’t have a Mia Noi, should I? It’s amazing how common sense seems to be lacking in so many people (not you of course. You own a bike, a hybrid and a tractor).
  7. You are boring. No one’s telling you to like or buy EVs. You don’t like China either. Don’t buy any Chinese made products then. No one is going to lose sleep over that.
  8. Let me correct your post, if I may. Some EV manufacturers in China are in serious crisis and may not survive. Try selling khao neaw moo ping next to a popular moogata restaurant and see how much you can sell. The global manufacturers shutting up shop in China are the legacy ICEV manufacturers. The demand for ICEVs in China are falling like a rock. As these legacy automakers are incapable of manufacturing a decent quality EV, their business case is drying up.
  9. Sadly, he is also showing his bigotry on another thread.
  10. Not related to these protests but sponsored protests in general. During the HK protests, many were paid protesters, paid by think tanks bearing 3 letter acronyms. Destruction was on an altogether different scale. Yet, arrest nuwere minimal. HK police showed restraint, unlike the thugs you see attacking professors and students.
  11. Good to hear that Ukraine is winning. Shouldn’t be long now then, for the conflict to be over, regime change in Russia, Putin arrested by ICC, Ukraine becomes part of NATO. I can hardly wait.
  12. Hey, to each their own. If you want a HYSE ICE and can afford it, go buy one. Don’t come here asking where to fill it up though.
  13. Trump ทany have been light on details on how he would end the conflict but not the top EU diplomat, J. borrell. Here he says exactly how he would end the war. The Ukrainian existence depends on us. I know how to finish the war in Ukraine. I can finish the war in Ukraine in a couple of weeks just by cutting the supply. If I cut the supply of arms to Ukraine, Ukraine cannot resist, they will have to surrender, and the war will finish. https://www.eeas.europa.eu/eeas/united-kingdom-speech-high-representativevice-president-josep-borrell-oxford-university-about-world_en
  14. Sorry to say this but this shows how ignorant you are about life. I’m willing to bet that you have never been to Russia or China (correct me if I’m wrong) and thus, have no idea about life in those countries. Commenting about something you have no knowledge about is akin to opining about EVs when you have never even sat in one. I have lived in Europe and visited other western countries more times than you can count. I’ve also lived in Hkg, visited China and Russia multiple times. My observations are that people are no more or no less happy of their political system as compared to another country. What’s important is what their government is doing for them and as I have linked, the Chinese people are among the happiest in the world. British? Even my daughters couldn’t wait to get out and have been for the past year with no plans to return soon. Just ask the folks here on AN. How many would like to return to their home countries?
  15. What an absolute piece of rubbish. It is obviously written by a western journalist, from the viewpoint of the west. They still don’t get it. Russia will absolutely win because they are well on the way to achieving their stated objectives; protecting the ethnic Russians in Eastern Ukraine and the de-militarisation and de-Nazification of Ukraine, not some made up land grab narrative pushed by the west. A defeated Russia offers the promise of reform and renewal, akin to historical precedents where defeat paved the way for democratic transition. By relinquishing its imperial ambitions, Russia can embark on a path towards normalcy, characterized by respect for the rule of law and democratic governance. As usual, a call for regime change, just because a sovereign nation has different systems. Who the f are these people that they think they have the right to decide for others what’s good for them? The usual hubris that the global majority is starting to reject. Take 2 ends of the spectrum; the US and China. Guess in which country, the population is happier? https://www.globaltimes.cn/page/202303/1288231.shtml Reports such as this highlight why more and more countries are moving towards multipolarism where countries exhibit mutual respect, instead of trying to intimidate and dominate others. A very good example is how Hungary and Serbia welcomed the Chinese president with open arms as China is all about common prosperity and win-win for all, not the zero sum game that some western countries espouse. .
  16. Putin has an arrest warrant out for him. What does that mean? 7 EU countries sent representatives to his inauguration. Seems like they see the arrest warrant for what it is. A politically motivated move.
  17. I’m guessing from your comment that you don’t own an EV. Majority of EV owners charge at home, at very cheap rates, whether here ,or in the UK. I have done 9,000 kms in my Dolphin in the 5-6 months since I bought it. I’m yet to charge at a public CS. Charging at home for most people should cost around Thb 300-350 for a range of about 400-440 km. Even if a certain amount is done at public CS, this is still significantly cheaper than the equivalent 600-800 baht for an ICEV. Even in the UK, public charging is getting cheaper as Tesla opens up more and more of their stations to non-Tesla owners. Other CPO’s will have to reduce their prices gradually. So EV motoring even in the UK will continue to be cheaper than petrol.
  18. Yes, they usually have names that describes the colour of certain parts of their anatomy like green eared lizard or blue necked ostrich etc.
  19. Nixon actually showed me the map and admitted that Kissinger drew on it with his sharpie, much like Trump did on another map.
  20. Your first sentence already branded you and the way you think so the rest of your post carries no credibility with me. Having said that, I do agree with the last part of your last sentence. So tell me why those white devils across the pond can’t mind their own business?
  21. Ukraine said it. Must be true then. Those dastardly Russians. In other news, https://www.theguardian.com/world/2023/feb/05/putin-promised-me-he-would-not-kill-zelenskiy-says-former-israeli-pm-naftali-bennett Putin is a smart man. Killing Zelensky runs the risk of someone smart replacing Zelensky. When playing football, you don’t “take out” your opponent’s weakest player.
  22. Yes, what a coincidence 1) this story appears in the Independent, as opposed to the Guardian or the Telegraph or FT etc 2) this story appears not long after the UK Ambassador to Russia was summoned for a meeting https://uk.news.yahoo.com/russia-summons-uk-ambassador-lord-150100299.html?guccounter=1 After all, it’s not as if Russia said all targets in Ukraine AND BEYOND or that Russia is conducting drills with nukes…
  23. If Ukraine has to depend on America for munitions, that would mean that they weren’t capable of fighting Russia in the first instance. It goes to follow therefore that they were convinced by the Biden administration that America would support them in this war (in other words, a proxy war) for as long as it takes (or is it as long as it is in America’s interests). Someone once said. To be America’s enemy is dangerous; to be its ally is fatal. How true those words are turning out to be. The corrupt politicians in the DPP will undoubtedly find that out for themselves one day.
