Good point. When I did my extension and 90-day back in February, they clipped a little ticket into my passport indicating the requirement to show the bank balance at the next 90-day report. "But I report online" I said, slightly tongue in cheek because I didn't expect the online to work for me, as my last entry to Thailand was last August and I obtained a new passport in January. "Oh, OK" was the reply with a shrug, which I inferred meant they weren't really bothered about it. <90 days later I logged on to the online system more in hope than expectation, and it immediately pinged back "approved".

So I haven't been anywhere near Immigration since February. My next online reporting window opens next week, and I now expect the system to work for me indefinitely. If all goes to plan, I will simply remove the slip before I go for my next extension. My bank book is fully up to date.

Just check that slip wording carefully. On the one I had it said failure to go back on the prescribed date and show the balance meant the extension was cancelled, OWTTA.

They do keep a record so if you remove the slip and play dumb you might suddenly find there's an issue when doing your next extension.

This bail hearing seems to have been a travesty.  The purpose of a bail hearing is to decide whether the accused should be denied bail either because of a flight risk or a risk of harm to the community.  Those are the only legitimate reasons to deny bail.  Maxwell has clearly demonstrated that she is indeed a flight risk and so was rightly denied bail.  That said, what are accusers doing testifying at a bail hearing?  Guilt is for the trial court to decide.  Probability of guilt has no bearing at all on the bail decision.

Seems like the prosecution is attempting to try the case in the court of public opinion.  Not good.

Seems normal behavior in the US justice system these days.

Technical they are in Eu, just not on paper yet. They buy weapons, got trade deals, and private companies have invested in large scale in turkey, as people have invested in holidays homes from all over Europe. We talking big investments.

Turkey is a NATO member, and therefore, an ally of the Western powers.

They do have have any rights as a EU member state does.

That’s the #1 problem in the Middle East imo is mixing religion and politics you can’t govern a diverse nation with religious law leaving Sophia a museum imo was the safe and unifying thing to do another sad day for human relations

I think you'll find that Islam is a political system as well as a religion.

Muslim campaigners in the UK used to hold placards saying that as both a political and religious system Islam was the perfect system for the world today.

Of course, that pre-supposes everyone wants to become Muslim.

See it for what it really is, it's a Power Trip. Hang on to what little power you think you have until you don't. When was it the responsibility of a teacher to cut students hair? Teachers are there to educate yet we hear teachers are also hitting, bullying, punishing with cruel and unnecessary behaviour, stealing lunches of children, all without parents consent and it's not only Thailand. Far too many instances of teachers "tripping" over trivial student matters. My kid roles with a healthy afro. He loves it and makes him happy. He likes when the girls curiously touch his hair as they've never seen anything like it in real. It never stopped him from learning and is mostly in the top of his class. Any teacher that cuts my sons hair without my permission will have my wrath to deal with. I pay then handsomely to educate, not to practice their barber skills.

Teachers should have a new motto:

Feed the child's mind and not your ego.

Some children's parents unfortunately don't bother. A teacher at my son's school regularly used to cut the hair for any boys who wanted a haircut. He did it free, and was very good at it.

But he would always check with the parents first to make sure it was ok with them.

    Very different circumstances.

But as with all teachers everywhere, there's good, bad and indifferent. Some do far more some the barest of minimums. And some are bad tempered bullies who shouldn't be anywhere near a classroom.

Chinese are not ready to be seen as belligerents in the region.  They have not built their belt road/transportation and have not yet locked up the financial resources of governments.  I am sure they are pulling out with a hearty “see you soon” to the Indians.  That day will come to pass soon enough.

Indeed. China has bigger fish to fry at the moment. They always play the long game.

India will go back to squabbling with Pakistan.

Quite frankly it is disgusting practice, like cutting your toenails in public.

    Nose hair -  yuck.

Some things need to be done in the privacy of your own home.

Not as disgusting as getting pi$$ed whilst acting like a prat in bars which so many former special forces, martial art expert, millionaire cheap charlie farangs seem to indulge in!

The more expensive "hairdressers" don't usually do shaves, clean ears out etc. So try them.

But there are a couple of very expensive barbers in BKK that offer the works.

Good for you guys old Putin and his pals can launder all their money here in the USA at least till November then the laundromat gonna lose its license lol!!

Indeed. But interesting that the good'ole EU aren't bothering to sanction these individuals.

Cash strapped, serious problems within, EU ain't rocking any boats at the moment. Putin might turn off the gas to Germany if they upset him; and France must be eyeing the Saudi arms market.

I’m not sure what media you are getting this from, but it hardly matters.

Maxwell is an adult and answerable for her own crimes, and these relate to something far more obscene than ‘liking teenage girls’.

I hope she does name names and produce evidence (if the FEDs don’t already have enough), throw the book at all involved regardless of who they are.

Again, as always, you seem to insist certain charges, made against certain types of people, should be accepted as the truth; without proof, evidence, trial and verdict.

It seems you support trial by media fueled by political correctness and verdict by the court of public opinion - an opinion easily swayed by the mass media.

Perhaps you'd like to go back to the Witch trial mentality where as long as an accuser was perceived to be "on the right side" evidence wasn't really necessary? Or maybe press them to confess. If they're pressed to death we know they're innocent!

Unfortunately, this is also hampered by an FBI shown in recent years to be corrupt, biased, politically motivated and not particularly efficient; and a US justice system broken way beyond repair.

Look forward to a clown show.

This political correctness has gone way way over the top and probably for the first time ever I agree with Trump.????

Mercedes desperately want to virtue signal; and pander to their star driver whose lost his sense of reason. And quickly before anyone investigates their murky Nazi past.

As with many investigations of this type, there is probably a lot more the public/press could be told but won't be...at least not yet. Why not interview Prince Andrew on English soil as I'm sure the US investigators could get permission for that albeit with if's and but's. If the US authorities then deem further interviews / indictment then these might restrict the Prince's travel outside UK and UK authorities could consider a response. Too simple I suppose...oh well

If they interview him in the UK or by distance communications, it would be hard for them to con him, pressure him, promise him dubious 'deals" etc - all of which seems to typify the FBI these days.

Strauss has nothing and she knows it, but will still try and showboat for what it's worth.
