Thailand Targets Tougher Alcohol Laws to Align with Global Norms
kingstonkid replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The problem with Pay Now is that after they pay, you are letting a drunk either behind the wheel or on the handlebars. Taking away their car and making them come back and pay the bills or do the requeset time behind bars when they are sober is not a bad idea. I think a lot of Thais would have trouble, especially in the country, paying the fines, so let them do time. I had an old family friend that used to do the time every year. The OPP used to have a list of maintenance repairs that needed done and he would do it for them at cost while dong his time in jail. In Ontario, when they first started riding, cab companies paid to have cabs at checkpoints. Checkpoints were always near a mall or large parking lot -
Thailand Targets Tougher Alcohol Laws to Align with Global Norms
kingstonkid replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Money is not the issue, as most don't pay the bills anyway. The better solution is to impound the cars/motorcycles and sentence repeat offenders or people who cause injury. -
The last thing he needs is the people submitting resignations as that usually is a precursor to the party saying bye bye. Consider that BJT is on a roll, and the last thing they want to do is upset the military. The other major parties are there because of the military and the elites so all this anti-coup changing promotion system garbage is not going to sit well with them Also, if things are this bad, why is not the prime minister of the country not speaking out? Thaksin is pushing that line andd I think he is going to see the results of his foolishness very soon. THE CCC and EC still have those charges against him and the PTP. The only thing stopping them is that other parties might get hit. I can see the Courst saying that they were just there, but because PTP held most of the power, there was little they could do, therefore absolving them or barring one or two members. The best thing he can do for his daughter is leaving the country, go back to Dubai, and visit his sister that he screwed up.

It isn't so much that as she hsa gotten the tiktok addiction. She sees all these other ladies getting this and tht done and looking better and she now starts to wonder if she is a mug fornot wanting to be more beautiful to compete with them. We hear about this all the time from young girls who want to have the body of a Kardashian, look like Beyonce, or have that perfect body. There is nothing op can do other than not pay for anything. Tell her he loves her and only wants the real her. If she carries on with this, she may start to look around for another Farang that will pay for her treatments. As to where to go, I would take her to Yanhee or one of the top cosmetic hospitals and have her sit down and talk to a Thai doctor who might be able to find out what is going on.

It also proves that you alyou need is good looks and you can place in a beauty scheme. Then you get promoted to being a bargirl after your time expires. My question is how does a girl working in a bar or restaurnt get 4 milion baht. I would score her looks as average -
British man’s flight home to recovery after horror crash in Thailand

In a case like this how much is covered by NHS and how much is covered by him. An example is that IF I ever went back to candada I have to wait at least 3 months before i can apply for government health care -
I was more thinking about the internet, considering how much we depend on it for everything. Imagine Immigration without their computers. Clerks in stores would have no idea how much stock they have. People willnot be able to buy things because they won't remember how to use cash. But then again, how do you get the cash if the ATM is down

The challenge that the Left has is that they are voicing their fears. They have no real idea what is going to happen other than 1. the border will be closed 2. people will be deported 3. Ukraine and Russia will sit down at a table and talk 4. He is going to drill baby drill, thereby making you less dependent on other countries 5. He will be a leader who will deal with other countries and not get confused about who he is talking or where he is. MY SUGGESTION IS SIMPLE INSTEAD OF WORRYING ABOUT SOMETHIG YOU HAVE NO PROOF OF WHY NOT ENJOY AND SEE WHERE IT GOES.

Watch closely: Thaksin Shinawatra's potential political return
kingstonkid replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The challenge, though, is that they are losing that power. Before, the majority of the people trusted the military, and they had the Democratic party as well as others. They also could deal with things through the Senate and coups. They lost all effective party control in the last election, and it looks no better. Eventually, the PP is going to figure out all the election rules and the ins and outs, and then they will be in trouble. Even the Great Thaksin needs help to get the PTP effective. Right now he is at the mercy of the BJT and the people backing it. -

Thaksin Announces New Anti-Drug Task Force Led by PM Paetongtarn

Add to that that he is not a legal member of PTP and accordiyto the law can't be involved. He just keeps stepping over the line daring them to hit him -
Watch closely: Thaksin Shinawatra's potential political return
kingstonkid replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
He always stayed. He has been running PT since he developed the party. That is why many airlines made a lot of money from people travelling to get their decree. I think he may be in trouble and trying to bail out a sinking ship. The people know he is in charge. The ELlites know he is running things, but they are leaving him alone until he does something they must do. Remember, the only other choice the elites have is to go to an election, and there is no guarantee that the PP will not get a majority with no Senate to mess things up anymore. -

Do you not realize that Thaksin is grooming his grandchildren at the next level after his daughter? Thanksin has to be careful if the elite start to see a better route with the PP he will end up like the Dem party -
I Think I Might Have Screwed Up
kingstonkid replied to kingstonkid's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Canada post does this almost every year so that their staff get a long holiday at XMAS. The part that P!sses me off is that a lot of young people used to depend on part-time work sorting parcels and getting mail through for Christmas. As I worked for a subcontractor delivering, I also got extra hours and wages. It was a good thing. Then the Union decided to be anal and screwed up a good thing. We had to empty the boxes every day and got harrassed by the idiots on the street Heaven help us if we actually got out of our vans to throw the mail bags into the loading dock. I grew up in a Pro-union house, but I can tell you that the Posties turned me off unions. -
I Think I Might Have Screwed Up

No passports are sent in the diplomatic bag. No matter what strike, as long as there are flights, then the bags get through. They are also treated differently than normal cargo in the airport sent by the airlines. -
I Think I Might Have Screwed Up
kingstonkid replied to kingstonkid's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Thanks everyone for the thoughts. First No the passport is not made here it is done in Canada and shipped in the dip bag. I went in dressed for success, clean LS shirt, dress pants, and paperwork ready. I Immediately admitted my idiocy and asked for help and guidance. Both the counter lady and the consular official were awesome. The rule states 20 working days, BUT she said they would flag my application and send it right away to Canada by scan, and I should be here in a couple of weeks. I also handed her the letter requesting proof of funds. She took it to another official, who said I could do it when I picked up my passport. With any luck I should have everything done before 7 Jan. -
What Time Do You Get On The Tins?

I never get on the tins while here. I hate the taste; I was raised on the bottle, and the bottle is where I still stay.
