The relaxed laws saw a lucrative cannabis industry catering to locals and foreigners alike boom across the Southeast Asian nation, but a new conservative coalition government came to power late last year vowing to tighten the rules and only allow medical use. A draft bill was released on Tuesday by Thailand’s health ministry outlining hefty fines or prison sentences of up to one year for offenders – or both. Cannabis and cannabis-related products will be limited to medical and health purposes only, the bill states, echoing Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin’s pledge in September that his new government will “rectify” laws on cannabis within the next six months. Smoking marijuana in public remained illegal even under the relaxed laws, but the proposed new laws will ban advertising and marketing campaigns for cannabis buds and extracts, and other cannabis products. I put about as much weight behind them reporting as I would the guardian, Fox news or CBC. I think Stoner for once may have seen through the haze.. The one joke is that they say the NEW conservative government is pushing this. Lol it is the same monkeys as put this as open season.
  3. Simple I keep a copy of everything they asked for last year. 1 copy of every page and I MEAN EVERY page including arrival tm as well as rlthe blue page. The tm request Letter from CDN embassy They have 2 forms to fill out there but that is it. Gf comes with me in case of an issue with residence but do far nothing asked.
  4. That's why taking the srt train from pyia Thai is smarter lol no check point
  5. Lol they don't want it to go through too soon they may need it for the next election.
  6. Did anyone else notice that the ministry of education is not part of the program. Kids drop out when. They are not learning anything that they think they need. Matayom schools need to teach trades and home economics How many of you older gentleman learned engine basics or how to build a birdhouse in school
  7. Just did my annual renewal good for another year. They are set up for appointments but really they were not that busy 70 minutes including 90 day
  8. Part of the problem is that there's really no where for young people to go. Maybe opening a few clubs with music and no booze is an answer
  9. Mike doyou know of any tax accounts in the country that are going ot be able to help us. I would rather set something up to pay tax quarterly then get hit iwth the lump sum
  10. Agreed but where consider that there are a lot of rail lines in that area as well as it is developed. They just spent a crap load of money on the minivan bus area are they going to write that off as well. I think this has been discussed before and nothing done so I am not holding my breathe.
  11. hey murphy always had exceptions but my questin is were you able to stop in time?
  12. I agree partially with what you are saying BUT will tell you from experience that even if a Thai teacher went to the best university in the world and got a master's or Ph.D. in education, They would still be screwed and would be in the same position as a teacher that got their education here. The system in schools is set by the older teachers and the deaprtment heads. They know what they want and the last thing they want is someone coming in with new ideas and new ways of teaching. By the end of the first term, if a teacher and this in a lot of cases includes NES teachers has not quit or gone crazy, then they are doing what the Thai teachers want, which is never to make them look bad and never to try something that may cause them to not look so good. Also, the students are indoctrinated into the system and know what is expected and what their role is, and again, do not try to change it because you will get in trouble. For example, I was teaching 27 lessons a day and was told that if I had issues with students to send them out of the class or contact one teacher responsible for controlling the students. That worked well, with no problems. Then, one day, I had to send a girl to the discipline teacher along with some of her friends. I was hauled in and told that I would never do that again. The girl in question was the language director's daughter. Young or idealistic teachers get chewed up and spit out.
  13. LOL, and it still works pretty well. was there for NY and it was simple and easy Looking at a map it is not going to be easy there really is not a lot of vacant land there unless they are going to make a thai very rich buying some of the malls near JJ market
  14. Have you been to central Mikes or terminal 21
  15. I am surprised that one of the many accounting firms in Thailand have not jumped up and advertised or provided info. I thinkthere are still a lot of things that need to be covered and decided yet.
  16. Why do I have the feeling there is more to this story? Again, beating to that extent is wrong, but I am sure that there is more to this story. Again I wish papers followed up on these stories.
  17. I think to say as a blanket that Thais don't care and say that all of them don't would be wrong. HOWEVER, look at the number of Thais that drive motorbikes with four people and no helmets. Look at the number of 13-year-olds on bikes with 3-4 of their friends. The fact that there are laws on the books that state you have to have a license, you have to have insurance, and you have to follow the rules as per speed, drinking, and helmets, and a vast majority of people do not follow or are not punished there is a clear argument that they really do not care. It is the same as many in Pakistan INSH allah God willing.
  18. A lot of the rules are set by the government and banks and hotels have to go through the motions. When I stay overnight in bkk I use the same hotel at least twice a month. He knows me by name and the room I like. But still has to make a copy of my passport.
  19. I would not do anything from outside of Thailand. As suggested best us get a 3 month visa. Land on the ground sort out where you want to live then find an agent. @DrJack54 Did something change I didn't think you need the 800 for the initial request.
  20. If you are going to fast to safely stop it is not the police or stationary object fault it is the driver not having care and control.
