  1. Matayom students are finished this month University studetns are finished beginning of March, GET READY FOR IT FOLS going to be lots of DUCKS AROUND MBK PARAGON
  2. I think the mission is far frm completed. Consider that very soon you are going to have a lot of young people with nothing to do with their time. These are teh same people that protested before. Considering the people that voted for MFP and the age groups, this is a huge issue. There are going to be protests, and there will be people arrested for Lese charges. LOL imagine what it would be like if they had this in the UK. This is far from over, and if the MFP has to change its name again, so be it. Remember how many times Thaksin has changed the name of his party? Will most of us see the change in our lifetimes? I don't think so but the fuse has been lit. The elites that are pushing this are getting older. The young people are getting, if not wiser, more vocal and are starting to make inroads with other age groups. this is a battle that, actually, if you read what they want, even the average people who support Lese Majeste would agree. Does the person sitting at the table beside you and eavesdrops on your take ing with your GF/wife or another person have the right to charge you with this?
  3. There is ot SEXUAL ANYTHING READ THE REPORT. WHAT IS CONSIDERED OBSCENE PURPOSES. http://www.thailawforum.com/articles/indecency-challenge-thailaw2.html If he took pictures of her in a sexy pose or showing a bit of breast or nipple it is possibly obscene. Therefore let me surmise that the following is possible. The girl likes the teacher. We all know that the favourite pastime of Thai teens is selfies or taking pictures of how beautiful they are. The teacher and student go to dinner or for a walk, and he takes pictures of her looking sexy. Nothing untoward, but definitely not the pics that Mom or Dad would want. Just pics that a Thai teen would want to have taken. Mom and Dad see pics and blow a gasket. Go to the police and want him thrown in jail without the key. Police ask the appropriate questions and the best they can come up with is "taking away a minor aged more than 15-years-old but not more than 18-years-old from her parents or guardian without proper reason for obscene purposes" Not high on the scale and really not something they are going to rush to solve. School, in the meantime, does not need Dad and Mom going off the deep end, so they slap him on the hand and tell him he screwed up, and they have to let him go. Did the teacher do anything LEGALLY WRONG? NO Did the girl do anything she should be ashamed of? no Can anyone else see the Good Moral Thai MOM and DAD going off the deep end? YES Sorry but to those that want him hanged and quarterd I think you need to read the rules. He did a nice (BUT BONEHEAD) thing that got him fired.
  4. What did they wear at check in? I think they did it as a joke, but again, taste is not always what others see.
  5. There is no cost. They are trolling for customers. That is where they get the reimbursement. It would be nice if someone in Bkk did the same thing.
  6. Is 200 baht really worth the hassle? By the time you contact the owner, he comes and fixes it, you are looking at a week at best. Just go out to the DIY pick up a new hose and a set of vice grips.
  7. I know a lot of Thais in BKK who travel to Pats and have good holidays. They enjoy the beach and things during the day. They have a late dinner and enjoy staying at nice hotels near Jomtien. Then there is the nightlife that is single couples no kids focussed. The issue is with the after-hours idiots (both Thai and tourists) It boggles my mind, be it Pats Puket or NANA, the families that walk around and look at things with their kids in tow. There are 2 different Pattayas. Just as there used to be 2 different Yonge Streets in Toronto. Two different Byward markets in Ottawa.
  8. That is probably because they have to deal with BKK traffic instead of just driving in and driving out of Swampy.
  9. Lowering the national bank rate affects usually the rate that the average bank charges. In Canada there are interest rates that are the national rate plus x% Therefore the bank rate lowering here lowers the cost of borrowing that the Elite have to pay. As well as businesses having access to a lower borrowing rate there fore making more money for the banks.
  10. There is only one reason that PTP wants a crisis and that is the money they need for the wallets.
  11. If that is the case, then I cannot see a disagreement that would involve muscle. I think this was strictly a Russian goon trying to rip off a Handicapped Korean.
  12. The best thing they can do is get this to court quickly. Hold all concerned under arrest at a nice prison or give them Thaksins floor at the hospital. But make sure no one can leave the country and that the trial is open and complete. The challenge is going to be getting witnesses. I have a feeling that they can not extort an honest citizen therefore, these guys may not want it to go to court.
  13. There is a lot that is confusing about this. Can any of the Pats crowd shed light on the Soi honey shops? Are they sketchy, or are they upfront on costs? I find it strange that a couple of Russians attacked a guy about a massage. in that manner. Also why would he be afraid if he was just a tourist he is not going to be here that long anyway. Sorry just seems off to me.
  14. I stand corrected I did mean to say unsupported. Unless, of course, it is a discussion as to who is right, the Thai teacher or NES. lol
  15. Yes It just seemed backwards to me. Then again, anytime I have gone to Pathum Thani immigration, they check the papers, flip through my passport, get my pic and money, and send me on my way.
  16. LOL I read that too. As I think a lot of us I have a hard time with her numbers are just not believable 6 lady drinks per hour, or one lady drink every 10 minutes, all night long, for 21 nights!
  17. sorry used the wrong word. Yes, it is the address report. When I did my annual extension renewal, I was past due because they will not renew online if you do not have a full 90 on your extension. I am not even sure they worried about it as I had the last report paper in my passport and nothing was asked. I have for the past 12 years done it that way renewal, then 90-day report in that order, and never had an issue. I have the receipt, and of course, they have access to the computer, but I have never had to or been able to get a 90-day before I renew. Now my 90 days are usually just a week at most overdue not sure that makes a difference though
  18. Strange, it is the opposite for retirement. In order to get my 90-day extension, I had to get my retirement extended first.
  19. I agree that the system is flawed. The problem is that this is not just a Thai issue. My friend's granddaughter is in high school as a normal student. The problem is she is not normal. She suffers from FAS and does not have the same maturity level. There are no special school resources in place for these kids. The other issue is the parents. Most of them have no idea how to care for or look after a problem child other than going to the monks for prayers. Thai teachers are overworked and under-educated and supported by the administration. The challenge that a lot of Thai teachers have is ignorance of the changes. Consider that a 50-year-old Thai teacher was in school BEFORE computers. 40 year old teachers were learning before MTV came out 30 year old started teaching just as Facebook began 20 years ago, Twitter started. Any student that had a phone in the past 20 years had a phone that you could call and or text. Now you have MS chat Lilne, facetime whats app and an assortment of apps Then add to the fact that life before all these things was simpler. Teachers taught students to listen. The Thai family was established with an order that had an order where grandparents looked after the kids while the oldest son and wife worked and looked after the family. there was little peer pressure. People did not have outside noise. Also, remember that the older teachers started during the Vietnam War in a system that was developed in the 30s. People did not have the financial issues or day to day stress. The solutions are going to take time but need to start with the schools developing the 60's Canadian system where there are vice principals or directors that are responsible for student discipline. Guidelines need to be established, and parents need to be advised of the new rules and also contacted about issues that arise. How many of us hear the words, "Kingston kid, go see the principal," Then the principal of vice saying, "ok, hope you have no plans for after school as you are going to be staying after school," then notifying parents that you would need a different way home or would be late. The bottom line is yes, there needs to be actual teaching of grads who want to teach with them doing internships in schools that have passed OBEC screening and have an established system with teachers that will assist them.
  20. Why would you want to do 90-day report before? I think you need to do it after you do the visa extension, possibly book it for after lunch
  21. Same back in Canada Sam. I always find that a large lady understand that they are not going to be attracted to looks in a lot of cases, so they do so in other ways. There is nothing wrong with a large (not huge) girl. Just like older versus younger bar girls.
  22. Sitting with a lovely lady to talk to is a lot better than sitting with a fat farang or just staring at the phone. As to getting ripped off, I am a regular on Soi Nana and have never had a problem with the drink price. Mainly because when I get the first bar drink I check the chit. Also, being regular, the girls know me and know what I will and will not accept. Remember these girls are working and it is their livelihood. Have you never bought a girl a drink in a bar before
  23. It's not the money but the wallet. Thais just like us would live to have 10k. But not with the restrictions or the limitations that wallet brings.
