Good to hear that, thanks, maybe I will come down to Pattaya when my license is due in November, I managed it OK the last time, but I think it was more like luck when I passed it, I never had a problem before that.

Where the driving license test goes badly wrong, and not just in Thailand, but in the UK and probably other countries also, is the eyesight test. Test examiners etc, are not qualified to give any kind of eyesight tests. That should be left to qualified opticians. Thailand is the worst with the stupid test involving lining up the two sticks. I stood and watched people taking that test a few years ago, and they were failing one after the other, no one is going to tell me that all these "failures" have defective eyesight.

I got a taxi from the rank over a year ago and paid 1,250 Baht including the tolls. I don't know anything about the Thai taxi service, but why should a driver not be prepared to take you to Pattaya, unless he is near the end of his shift. I think I will get a taxi off the rank for 1,500Bt including the tolls. I have never tried Grab or Bolt before.

I don't dispute what you say about Thaksin, but when his sister was in office there was no manipulation of the Baht against the UK £, you got over 50 Bt to the £ then. Look at it now. As for Thaksin, are most senior politicians in almost any country, not have the same sort of mentality, fill their pockets first and keep filling them before doing anything for the people?

I can predict the future. As long as the unelected PM and his soldiers are in office, or to put it another way, as long as there is a military Junta in charge, the best we can hope for is about 45 Bt to the UK £ but only for a very short time, then it will decrease in value again.

At least Paetongtam has probably had a proper University education and has a decent IQ, unlike the present unelected PM and his sleeping partner, who are no more than soldiers with a Military Academy education. In a fair general election with the Thai electorate voting, Paetongtam should win easily. I hope so, anything is better than the aforementioned soldiers.

I just don't understand this GF experience thing. When I was younger, I was that used to having a girl/lady with me because she wanted to be with me for me, not because she wanted paid. What do these GF renters think knowing that their "GF" is only with them for the money? I suppose they are very unattractive and overweight and been unable to attract any half decent looking girl back in their own country, and can only do so because of their wealth.

What happens if you fail the test, do you get the 3,500 Bt back, or do you forfeit it? The reason I ask is I am wary of the part involving the two sticks you have to line up together. I managed OK on my last motorbike license renewal at my local test centre, but I think that was more luck than anything else. I watched at a different test centre and watched the vast majority of people fail that part of the test. Imagine paying 3,500 Bt and then failing.

I find my Forza 300 great for touring and riding around town, Though I am never in a hurry and happy to be riding about 60-70 Kph out on the highway.

Yes it does, but if I go to Chrome I can get to Gmail. The only problem is on my laptop, the page where I get all the icons. I can get to chrome or any other, it has just stopped me from going to Gmail. I can go to chrome then to gmail no problem.

What about returning expats, some with re entry permits? They are not tourists, so will not be subject to this 300Bt fee. Aye right!
