  1. My answer would be what would a "Military" anything have to do with any type of education that you would get in the UK? Or any other country for that matter.
  2. Another guy who should be wearing a bra.
  3. Even where education is concerned. ????
  4. "I retired in Thailand knowing all the facts and figures" So did I, but I never thought things would change the way they did through the years. In saying that and compared to the UK today, even allowing for a Junta government, Thailand is a much better place to be than the UK.
  5. Then you haven't walked past any taylor shops in Pattaya. ????
  6. I was in Scotland in May, June and July, even just going to a local shop, I always had to wear a hoody, I bought a thick jumper from a charity shop to wear in the house, not that much rain, but almost every day there was far too much wind, and every night had to sit watching movies and old TV shows on my laptop with a hot water bottle on my lap, putting the electric heater on would have played havoc with my life savings.
  7. In which way? He is much better educated and unlike our unelected PM, is actually a politician, voted in by the public, not a Military Academy educated soldier. ????
  8. If I have brought it up 100 times there is no need to explain anything to you.
  9. The way things are right now in the UK, after my life savings disappeared to pay electricity bills, I am not sure if I could have survived a UK winter.
  10. But much more Cons in the UK than here in Thailand. Council tax, other taxes, and TV licence etc, spring to mind. Also as you have mentioned, rent and fuel costs. So the Cons are much higher in the UK.
  11. Here is something else for you to read, I had a recent 3 month stay in the UK, I had planned for about 6 months, to stay that long my life savings would have dwindled enormously, my electricity cost was a real shock. As soon as the stupid Thai pass and insurance scam was lifted, I booked my flight back to Thailand at four times the cost of my flight from Bangkok. Unless you are very well off financially, and/or have your own home in the UK. I strongly advise you to give the UK one big miss. You may live in a country ruled by an unelected soldier with an average Thai IQ and his Junta, but you are still better off here in Thailand.
  12. Much as I hate Lazada for their disgraceful service, they are the only online company my Bangkok bank debit card will honour. Everything is fine with the likes of Lotus and Big C, but not online.
  13. Yes, but that was in 1965, about five years later I changed it for a Fender Precision.
  14. When I frst started playing professionally at 18, my first Bass was a Gibson EB4, it was a great bass guitar to play, but lacked the good looks of the Fender Jazz, Precision and Mustang.
  15. I believe you are talking about Thai people, so yes! You are 100% right.
  16. I go out on my bike, pushbike, every day for exercise and nearly every day I have to avoid motorcyclists riding up the wrong side of the road, pulling out in front of me without looking etc. The thing is when I shout at them they are that stupid they don't realise that they are in the wrong and they shout back with their faces twisted in anger. The daily amount of motorcyclist deaths and injuries on the road backs me up when I go on about the stupidity of the majority of Thai people, and yes, I mean the majority.
  17. An Australian I was talking to some years ago would sum up what this post is all about. I certainly would not like to live in Australia the way it is today. Here in Thailand I have known quite a few Australians over the years and have never met an undesirable one, the same would apply to Americans, pity the same could not be said about a very small minority of European and British people.
  18. Does it not start from the Generals, Lt/Cols, and Maj/ Gens and all the other fancy ranks that are bought and paid for?
  19. There is nothing wrong with laws and rules as long as they are there for a good reason and not just for certain people the weild their power.
  20. Closing times and opening times are nothing to do with peoples safety. They can open 24 hours a day if the safety rules are adhered to.
  21. A very easy question to answer, so I will answer it in only two words, brown envelopes.
  22. If he wants to show off his disgusting body he might as well have the decency to wear a bra.
  23. Don't mind cats and squirrels, but I hate wind and rain in that order.
  24. Not in Scotland, I was there May, June and July, had to wear a hoody every time I went out, about 90% of the time it was up. Not a lot of rain, but windy just about every day. In saying that, the rain has been dreadful here in Thailand ever since I came back.
