  1. Think you will find that is the Apple flagship store in London. These eager punters are often stooges sent in to pick up the latest phone to be resold at an even more ridiculous price.
  2. Always bugs me, invariably you report early to cover any issues and but then lose remaining time on your current report. However, when you turn up 30 days early to renew a retirement extension it gets forward dated to the exact renewal date as the previous year, so why not the same for 90 day reports.......answers on a postcard
  3. As per my previous post doesn't matter who does the conversion, but you will get a much better exchange rate if you let the Thai bank do the conversion. Log onto the bangkok bank site and foreign exchange rates page for current TT transfers and compare with the rate you got, you can scroll back to the date you made your transfer.
  4. For future reference always make a transfer in local currency euro/£ etc and let the Thai bank make the conversion.... you will get a far better exchange rate.
  5. Thaksin arrives at 9am, new prime minister is appointed at 5pm......am I missing something.
  6. No, unless you want monkey pox.
  7. ,,,,,,And any resemblance to the real thing is purely coincidental.
  8. Thanks guys.....most critical advice would seem to be to test out on small area first and go from there. Agree, should call back the builder to take care, but he obviously has already demonstrated his attitude to maintaing a clean workplace.
  9. Had a builder splatter gloss paint over my floor tiles am a bit reluctant to go the full monty with paint stripper for fear of damage to said tiles....is there a safer means.
  10. Had a similar request to update my address at Korat, simply because slip in my passport was an old version. Also at Korat the IO dealing with the extension will automatically reboot your 99 day report and issue any re-entry permit....all at the same desk.
  11. Yawn.....very old news and already discussed on this forum, try and keep up old boy.
  12. If you are travelling up the Mittraphap or highway to hell it is hardly an epic journey. Better you time your trip so that when you turn off for Khao Yai at Pak Chong you will have a wide range of eateries such as Chocolate Factory, KP Steak and Studer.....mind you all at Khao Yai prices
  13. What bugs me is when they are too lazy to change the menu, but just put stickers over the old prices.
  14. You get to keep your passport intact for purposes of ID and domestic travel in Thailand, but as you say invalid for international travel. It will then be clipped when you pick up your new passport. Not sure of current charges, but you will fill out a separate form with your credit card details, to allow them to deduct what they like.
  15. Do you mean the percentage that can spell "foreigner".
  16. HMPO will make payment deduction immediately on receipt of application in the UK, which suggests delay in submitting to VFS at this end. Out of interest, who told you your photos we're not acceptable HMPO, VFS or Key Visa.
  17. The only guy that knew more about Thai immigration regulations than Thai Immigration.
  18. Got a confession to make.......still got the blue film on my extractor, it actually makes the kitchen look super smart
  19. Out of interest, anyone picked up a new Brit passport at VFS in Bangkok lately and been told they no longer need an embassy transfer letter.
  20. Let's see how his insurance company handles this one......yes, you've guessed.
