  1. Slightly related anecdote: - A couple of years back I received a snail-mail from my UK (IoM) bank to my Thai address. The wording was something like this: - "We are sending this letter to confirm that your postal address is still current. If this is your current address you need do nothing. If we do not hear from you by xxxx (date already passed of course) we will assume that your address is current." OK, so if I don't respond to the received letter, they keep my address. BUT If I don't receive the letter because I'm not at that address any longer, they still keep my address. Someone didn't quite think that one through ????
  2. Long ago I used https://www.angelfire.lycos.com/
  3. Back in 1976 I managed to actually FAIL a UK bike test, a feat that was considered, by my fellow apprentices, as totally impossible. It was wet, snowy and generally miserable and I was on a borrowed bike having crashed mine, at least that's my excuse I passed a month later on my own Suzuki GT250A ????
  4. @LittleBear57 if you still fail I have the .apk, if you drop me a PM with your email address I can send. It's 25MB so make sure you can receive files that big.
  5. Yeah, I think you're right. I can download it just fine using my UK Google Play Store.
  6. Those are MCBs, so if they are opening before the Safe-T-Cut then it must be on over-current rather than earth leakage.
  7. Does the beast operate correctly when the "Test" button is pressed? Are the breakers in the CU MCBs or RCBOs?
  8. Do they have plugs like this?
  9. Safe-T-Cut certainly used to do them.
  10. I do not allow my lady to operate the brush cutter, any distraction and she would swing around and take you off at the knees! Love her to bits of course.
  11. Expecting the unexpected doesn't go nearly far enough. Expecting the physically impossible (how the flip did that car get there?) is closer.
  12. OK Mod hat on! This is a fun poll so moderating has been somewhat, er, relaxed, and there have been many sensible posts too, but let's leave the grammar / spelling policing to the Boys in Brown (after all, they can't deal with traffic policing) EDIT OK, enough snarking and name-calling. If you notice that your post has gone walkabout, sorry.
  13. I think a fundamental issue here, and many other non-Western countries, is that students are taught to operate the vehicle, they are not taught to "drive". Driving is so much more than simply making the vehicle go (and hopefully, stop). Driving with an instructor on real roads, with real traffic (and real idiots) is absolutely essential.
  14. Yup, I would certainly stand no chance on a UK test now unless I had at least some form of refresher course. For example, a "Toucan" crossing didn't exist last time I drove in the UK, Pelicans were the latest thing.
  15. If I drove like I do here when back in the UK I'd be locked up for a long time! Speeding - Definitely Passing on the left - Of course Clipping the "don't drive here" hatchings - I have photo evidence!
  16. Wanna start a sweepstake? Oops, sorry, gambling is illegal
  17. I think it's 15 minutes, after which the poster can't edit ????
  18. Next time I'll wait for the edit window to expire ????
  19. At least spell "bait" correctly ???? Of course it is, you clicked = $$$, you could have voted ????
