  1. Yes, but that's the actual station NOT the CU it's fed from! You need Type-B RCDs too for proper protection. The installation instructions for the EVSE should have all the relevant detail.
  2. Sadly, gone now, but I used to drive past a place near Guildford - "W. Plummit & Son. Winches" And the classics "Siemens, Staines" and "Otis, Reading" (the town Reading is pronounced as redding).
  3. No problem with grounding, all your grounds are referenced to the common neutral in a TNC-S system. Oddly enough I was thinking along exactly those lines. One could adapt the ESP8266 internet timer that I'm using to control the export system on our solar to operate the transfer switch. Give it a calendar file as well and it could set up for holidays as well as weekends.
  4. IIRC PEA are offering a 15/45 supply for the EV charger. That said, the electronic meters are all 5/100 rated and effectively "universal".
  5. It will have no effect upon your EV charging. I'd go for it and get cheap power for your washer.
  6. And I disapprove of obvious baiting / trolling threads.
  7. Here you go - PEA Smart Plus_v2.1.8.apk It needs a 13 digit ID number in the correct format for Thailand, if you don't have a pink ID your Thai vaccine registration number should work. There are also websites that will create a valid Thai ID number out of thin air. No checking is done by the app.
  8. Well, that driver certainly left his mark in the world! Fetching my coat ...
  9. It's certainly worth taking it to one of the phone repair places, changing the charge port is (ok, should be) a trivial task.
  10. Yeah, it's not ideal but of course our members don't want to be bombarded by spam posts and we don't want to be constantly removing them.
  11. And I sincerely doubt that I can get my installer to come over at night I'm not sure which part is confusing you. If you are going to be turning export on/off by disconnecting the CT you need to do it when the inverter is sleeping, i.e. at night. Unless, of course, you intend re-booting the beast each time.
  12. Did you actually get a re-entry permit before leaving?? Check you latest entry stamp for it's expiry date!
  13. Generally, turning off completely would make it start from scratch, so you "should" be able to do that. But you would have to ensure it was completely "off", so no grid, no solar and then have a coffee to ensure everything was discharged.
  14. Yeah, it's possible it checks for the presence of a CT when it wakes up, and just gets confused if things change when it's working, so any switching will need to be done at night. Great that you have a solution ????
  15. It's also worth noting that some roads are now posting minimum speeds for certain lanes, AH1 (Route 32) north of BKK I don't go up there very often but seem to remember having this sign illuminate over my lane for going too SLOWLY!
  16. Yeah, pets can be a problem with poisons, hence the pet proof solutions (DIY and commercial). Our barkers are such fussy eaters (spoiled child-substitutes) that they probably wouldn't bother with the rat bait anyway, but why take the risk.
  17. We've also been adopted by a cat who chows down on all manner of small creatures. We just provide a small amount of food, fresh water and somewhere soft to sleep.
  18. Are your LED drivers the constant-current type? If so they will compensate for "reasonable" volt drop. I really think you are over-thinking the issue to be honest.
  19. SK Universal https://www.sk-wires.com/ can almost certainly source the cable, but they will only do it in the full 100m lengths.
  20. I would be most surprised if they do NOT keep such records. At the simplest level they would know how much you exported each month. I can check my monthly consumption back to March 2021 on the normal PEA App, why would something similar not exist for those exporting? Also, the electronic meters are quite capable of recording the peak consumption / export. Whether they actually care or take any action is of course debatable.
  21. I think you're going to struggle to get anything more than 4 core + ground (which would be a 3-phase + N + Gnd cable) in that size. Are you quite sure you need 2.5mm2, that's good for at least 20A (that's nearly 500W per colour at 24V). Maybe split your strip into 2 or 3 segments and run several sections of the more readily available 1mm2 back to the controller. EDIT Bangkok Cable do make a suitable product (C3LH05354012 at the bottom of this table) and it doesn't have a green/yellow core. https://www.bangkokcable.com/system/product/file_upload/210601_300!500V 70C 60227 IEC 53_2-5CORES -REV 04.pdf Whether you can get it in less than full 100m rolls is debatable. EDIT2 - and it's also 12mm in diameter!
  22. There are negatives to being the only place in the village with power:- The locals will flock to see their "friend" for a chat They will use your WiFi (for the kid's homework of course) They will watch your TV They will eat your food And worse! They will drink your beer And even worse! They won't go home even after the juice comes back on Actually, a by-product of having a decent UPS backup is that the grid reliability will improve significantly (like washing the car when the garden needs rain guarantees a downpour).
  23. Yeah, the subsidy/rebate for low-ish (less than 300 kWh) users pretty much negates the FT increase, all that will change soon ???? Expect complaints from all corners.
  24. A lot depends upon your usage patterns and the propensity for the grid to go off. We have about 10kWh of ESS which I keep above 60% full in case the juice goes off, there's an auto-start genset if the ESS isn't sufficient.
