  1. We don't have the same usage profile being more constant loads, but this is our generation from 10.6kWP for the last 12 months. There are plenty of electronic meters with RS485 / ModBus which you could interface with your Pi and do by the second energy logging. Have a look here https://aseannow.com/topic/1161970-an-internet-enabled-solar-power-monitoring-system-another-project-from-crossy-labs/
  2. Long ago, when working in Korea, a couple of us took a trip to Incheon on a blistering Sunday afternoon. After finding the location of the Incheon landings a cool drink was in order. A coke machine was nearby so some coins went in and a coke dropped out. The bottle wasn't warm, it was hot. Thinking "any coke is better than no coke" the top was removed and a good slurp taken. Followed by spray painting coke-ing the machine and a nearby wall. Hot coke really is the single most disgusting thing I've ever tasted, surpassing even the "salted entrails of sea cucumber" as served in the Hilton Hotel's "Sura" restaurant. Now the evening buffet in the Hilton lobby restaurant was something else ...
  3. Yup, so much so that someone restored the original and then colourised it! It's still just as bad as the day it was released.
  4. Ivacy have a decent solution for the BBC. Not expensive.
  5. Yes, we had to get an extra page copied. Do note that, of course, every immigration office is different in their actual requirements.
  6. Well, a little more up to date research reveals the availability of Type-B RCDs e.g. https://www.lazada.co.th/products/rccb-type-b-ev-car-2p-c-4p-32a-40a-i3112938453-s11534562001.html? Note that these are RCDs and so require a separate MCB for over-current protection. Some useful info on RCD selection https://www.technosun.com/descargas/SCHNEIDER-CONEXT-nota-corriente-residual-EN.pdf
  7. October generation figures, slightly better than last month but still not wonderful.
  8. Keyvisa were fine, the UK passport office taking 14 weeks to do their job was rather less fine ???? And yes, apart from photocopies, moving my stamps to the new PP cost zero Baht. On the other hand, the local administration office did charge for the updated KR22 marriage registration. The outrageous fee of ... One whole Baht! and we got a receipt.
  9. Once your item ships you can use "Track". The amount of actual tracking detail varies with the logistics company, but they all mostly call ahead when they are about to deliver. The regular ones all know us so they usually call just before they push the "doorbell" (if you hear it, you will know why it's in the "ears").
  10. I did exactly this at Pathum Thani immigration today. Of course, they had a list:- And still needed another 2 Baht copy (they actually wanted all the extension stamps). All pretty painless really, took a couple of hours of mostly waiting. Free! Apart from them using up two pages in my new passport of course.
  11. In metres (meters) please. I had to actually Google "mini-split" to make sure my understanding was correct, but pretty well every A/C on sale here is of this kind, just ask for "aircon" and you're good to go. The standard Thai "guesstimate" for sizing is 600-700 BTU/m2 of floor area, since you need 20C I'd be looking at something towards the upper end of that range and definitely an "inverter" type. I would also insist on a copper heat-exchanger, a lot of the cheaper units use aluminium. I'm not sure how that would react to any airborne chemicals (it's a loooong time since I did any home processing but I do recall some of the stuff was pretty noxious).
  12. Yes, those are indeed cup-holders! Hopefully a Chang can will fit
  13. Our ancient Agsatec mower didn't make it through the flooding, to be honest it was on its last legs anyway. So, time for a new one. The Daewoo products seem to be very reasonably priced https://daewoopowerproducts.com/producto/gasoline-lawnmower-dlm5300sp/ about 11k on Lazada. Any experience? Junk or gem?
  14. Pak Kret high today, definitely on a nicely downwards trend. Puyai Baan has also allowed us to adjust the sandbags in front of our gate so we can get the car in and out ???? So now the big cleanup begins including replacing / fixing Madam's irrigation pumps which haven't reacted well to being under water for 2 weeks + ???? EDIT It looks like the mower didn't make it ???? It's not like there's any grass yet anyway. The mower was on its last legs already having survived over 10 years of abuse.
  15. I don't really know why, but this thread seems to have become a bit of a slanging match. I'm going to lock it. If our OP would like to PM me I will re-open, or he can start a new thread.
  16. High today at Pak Kret, no nasty surprises ???? Should be the last of the biggies, peak tide starts going down from tomorrow ????
  17. It's important to note that electrical regulations and installation practices do vary around the world. What would be perfectly acceptable in the UK may be totally prohibited in, say, Australia. I will say that AS3000 is actually a pretty good fit for Thailand whereas BS7671 has some things which maybe don't work quite as they would "back home". When I lived in Seoul our local pub (yes, The Seoul Pub https://www.trazy.com/spot/2982/seoul-pub-서울펍-nightlife-bar) had the pool rules on the wall, the top line read "We don't care what they do where you come from, this is what you do where you are!".
  18. Madam always wants a tree and flashing lights despite being Buddhist. The 25th is a Sunday this year so I won't be working. We usually have party on the closest Sunday for family and villagers who are not scared of the fat farang ???? Food and alcohol of course but no religious stuff.
  19. @bluejets From here instructionandinstallationmanual_doc-00060852.pdf (page 29) Sorry about the wiggly hilite, it's early ????
  20. Schneider seem to disagree. https://www.se.com/ng/en/faqs/FA282621/ Note that if there is a neutral available on the supply side, just connect it to the N terminal of the RCD and it will work fine. Connnection in 3P RCCB.pdf
  21. Hmmmm, let me think about that ???? Gary Davies (sitting in for Ken Bruce this week) asked what the worst thing you've ever bought was (this after a guy spent 3 grand UK making Liz Truss doggie chew toys, which were delivered on the day she resigned). https://nypost.com/2022/10/25/david-farquharson-spent4k-making-liz-truss-dog-toys/ One chap bought a truck load of "Monster Munch" at a great price, only to discover it was vanilla ice-cream flavour!
  22. Do these things actually taste as revolting as they sound?? ????
