Musk is bang on. He should be running Britain. Heck, I'd sooner have a baboon in charge than the unfeeling, smug git that is currently in Number 10 ... BY DEFAULT!!

Man busted in UK smuggling cannabis from Thailand to clear debt
daveAustin replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Doesn’t matter. I’ve had cabin baggage checked & swabbed Dubai in-transit, or they could’ve had a tip-off. If positive, they’d haul his checked in bags. He’d be banged up for years. -

Should have gone through the red ‘Declare’ lane and asked if it’s ok to bring a packet of Mama noodles in. Less suspicious. -

There’s a few of these around; trolls, bots and the deluded, various countries. Some of those Dutch fellas tend to be quite ‘special’. Just put on ignore. Used to filter tap water in Chiang Mai environs and brush teeth unfiltered. Where I am in the south now, similar filter got clogged in a week, metals and all sorts, but likely the condo’s borehole and tank. Those guys that are drinking it direct, if you’re not getting nasties in there, the chlorine is not doing your gut microbiome any favours. I stopped drinking unfiltered UK tap water (which is generally very good and cool) because of it.

What a load of codswallop. So Russia can continue to blast away at Ukraine from over the border AND employ soldiers from another country, but Ukraine dare not defend itself? Britain and France have both been calling for Ukraine to use their longer range missiles to help thwart attacks. Let the b’stards have it! If it were to provoke WWIII (which it won’t, they’ll threaten and threaten and wait for a Trump deal), then so be it… by sitting back, it’ll happen anyway.

Immigration System Overhaul Underway at Suvarnabhumi Airport
daveAustin replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Yes, believe it or not. Have rarely, if ever, had a problem with them especially in recent years. My last entrance was very pleasant... the lovely young lady was most smiley apologetic on realising her error when asking how many days I'd be staying, having previously seen that I was on an ext' of stay. When I said 365, it tickled her pink. It was so gratifying that I was nearly tempted to ask for her LINE. I guess it depends who you meet and what kind of day they're having, and if the imm officer finds themself staring at an unkempt, loud, tattooed & ancient wife-beater-wearing whitey. 😋 -

Came through couple times this year and despite long lines it was pretty quick and polite. Peak season another matter I guess. Just let the Chinese walk right in… as we all know they’re squeaky clean. 🙂 -
Thais in Los Angeles Protest Against PM Paetongtarn’s Visit
daveAustin replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Pretty messed up reply, dude. In fact it is ‘garbled, confusing and quite frankly duller than an in-flight magazine produced by Air Belgium’ 😋 Don’t blame them for getting out there since she is erroneous and they’d be eviscerated if they tried it on here. -
Thailand Considers Nuclear Energy as Gas Supplies Dwindle
daveAustin replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I’m sure they’ll miss you. ‘They’ said similar when the Skytrain was built and Suvarnabhumi Airport. Some very capable engineers here and this kind of venture would likely be well safeguarded and have international help. -
Just find it sad. The guy should not be president and should be privately resting with dignity. Trump may be fitter both mentally and physically but he’ll be in his 80s soon as well and is a far cry from when he could speak well as a 40y old. Have an amendment to the constitution… no fogeys to run for president.

Gawd, you gotta be pretty shallow to move out of your country based on this kind of thing. How is it affecting one directly? There are also people of generally sound mind (I know some) that will not travel to the US because a certain person is in office. I mean, what the actual F? Sorry, but it is just puerile stuff. If a load of Americans do move out, although I've nowt against them, please consider somewhere other than here. Can't have too much of that mindset here.

Harris, Biden camps blame each other for loss
daveAustin replied to riclag's topic in Political Soapbox
De Niro went right down in my estimation after this. Left or right, as an actor stfu and stick to your day job. On actors and their opinion, Ricky Gervais (who is actually left himself) had the measure of it: "... if you do win an award tonight, don't use it as a platform to make a political speech. You're in no position to lecture the public about anything. You know nothing about the real world. Most of you spent less time in school than Greta Thunberg. So if you win, come up, accept your little award, thank your agent, and your God and f*** off!" - Ricky Gervais -

Posit they failed because people are just sick and tired of the direction the left is taking us (let's face it, however good their intentions, all they seem to do is blether and sow discord) so they went with the alternative however drastic that may be. They will now whine and fight tooth and nail rather than try to find common ground and move forwards. -
BBC iplayer completely Blocked even with VPN's
daveAustin replied to liddelljohn's topic in IT and Computers
If you care anything about genuine unbiased content, the BBC is no longer the place to go, with its post-2020 agenda writing. Not really worth bothering with nowadays outside of shows on the natural world... though I guess it won't be long before they start dressing up man emperor penguins in tutus and lipstick. Even period drama, of which it was unrivalled, is being trounced. Very difficult watching. -

What is one thing you learned from lefties?
daveAustin replied to Celsius's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
That they do not do opinion along with humour as evidenced by this post. They immediately go on the attack if something doesn't fit their small field of view with things like 'you are so thick' etc. 😴 Very strange breed, indeed. -
That's what the left does. They do not do opinion very well. Yes, Trump is a douche, but he just has a different opinion and people clearly like the guy. And what is wrong with wanting to make one's country better? This whole maga thing (highly stigmatised now--if Obama invented it it wouldn't be a thing) is what America was wholesale back in the day... you guys have just forgotten what you are about. For supporting Brexit (yes, sorry, very off topic) and wanting my own country to have say-so on its own policy, I'm apparently racist. It is divisive and damaging as is the inflammatory tat coming from the democrats. All you guys whinging at Trump and his supporters ad nauseam need to come together a bit and find common ground. Op, just say you're a yank that does not agree with its leadership and would prefer to make America worse. Btw, did he open up the FBI files on JFK yet?
