Thailand is 'shocked' by Kyiv hospital attack
daveAustin replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Who is 'Thailand'? Clearly not this bogus government since they are in bed with that little shyster and the other beaut' in China. This bs happens daily but is brushed off. Putin is nowt more than a vile child murderer with a Napoleon complex. Put your kids on the front line why don't you, then let's have a one on one and see how your judo holds up! -
lol

Shouldn't be because, as with the lottery in the UK, tax is garnered at source (on the ticket). The Thai system will likely not see it like that though. 🙂 Not read rest of replies since it will just be negative tripe like the first comment. Sorry, just don't get it. Clearly a nice lady who has worked her A off and been with him with years.

Yep, that was disgusting but can and will happen because of the actions of a sober nutcase. While understandable if you are victim’s family/friend, people are trying to stimmy everyone’s pleasure through the actions of the one or few. Why not ban it altogether and be done with it? Why not ban the sale of kitchen knives also? Personally like to have a beer (usually just one) with meal on train; like most. I’m not driving the thing. Alcohol buying hours and the curtailment on trains is bewildering to tourists. It is silly.

😴😴😴 Yes gawd forbid some English having the audacity to talk about their achievements. Esp not the English, anyone but England right. We’re not even allowed to wave our own flag or mention much of history even among other English folk for fear of upsetting some fragile soul. 🙄

That’s mostly the media, but it would be the same if any team anywhere had won one world cup, heaven forbid the sweaties… they’d tell you about it every single day! Yes bit naff the inventors not winning big for so long but tournament football is notoriously difficult to go all the way. Then again in recent years back to back Euros finals and a WC semi ain’t bad. They’ve got this far by idling against mostly sides that park the bus, Slovenia etc, quite hard to break down and find space. The Dutch first half was more like England, playing an attacking side. Expect similar with Spain who England beat 2-1 in World Cup, mostly same squad. Anybody’s game.

PM Srettha highlights key achievements in first year of office
daveAustin replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
What a total self-aggrandising waste of space of a, albeit bogus, statesman. Who does he think he is? You’ve done nothing tangible but piss off large swathes of the populace and the best of it is you weren’t even elected! What a loser. -
Cannabis Shop Owners Plead with Government Over Drug Reclassification
daveAustin replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Government should be rightly shafted for this. If recreational use was against the law, then these shops would’ve been shutdown ages ago and THE GOVERNMENT (same one as now, only overseen by a different crook) shouldn’t have given away a million plants! I mean, F-a-doodle-do, what an embarrassing shtshow, even for Thai politics. Then you have the usual dopey suspects on here lauding the decision to re-ban this relatively benign substance, yet they probably think nothing of drinking and driving. Pfft! -
Thailand Ranked Sixth Best Country Worldwide for Expats
daveAustin replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Many things are more expensive than the West but overall it’s still cheaper. I’d still be here if it were more expensive… can’t handle the constant politics, wokeness, seriousness, crap weather and that whole staid culture no more -

Why do retirees marry in Thailand ?
daveAustin replied to Franck60's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Didn't read replies, but guessing most marry due to pressure from the other half, who in turn are pressured by family. She would be considered a tart if she didn't marry (whether she is or not) and it would bring shame on them. These guys are already balls deep and loved up so will do what they're told. 😛 I'm with you though, dude, keep em at arm's length and vet them first... own property, career, no overbearing family, or 'brothers', and wear the trousers at all times. Wind them up and see if they bite under pressure etc before you get serious. Your English is spot on, btw... better than 90% of the numpties (respectfully) on here. 😀 -
😋 The Aussies won't like that. Much of your successes/inventions are borrowed (or had a helping hand) from the Brits or Germans... the nuke enrichment, von Braun in the rocket, examples. Look in the history books for who did what.

Me, too! Have warned before on the perils of posting late/inebriated ... nothing good happens after midnight! 🙂 He lauds what I consider dross 'lift music' (subjective and only my opinion) and then castigates what I, and many, consider a great artist. Nowt as queer as folk. The 'nothing is good anymore' is a throwaway, old man syndrome line. A classic can be, and is, written at any time. One has to get out there and listen.

UK wood pigeons are massive (compared with your typical scrawny Thai thing) and actually quite attractive when they mean to be. Best method for stopping them landing on my balcony was to string a fishing line about an inch high. They will not attempt to land.

How can the already hub of the universe become a hub? 😋 -
Reconsideration of afternoon ban on selling alcohol in progress
daveAustin replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Just off the boat? Article not meant for public consumption, dude, since anyone with half a brain or who has spent time here knows how to drink 24-7 if they so wish. Thais will not suffer (deary me, in what way?) since it is all around them ALL the time. -

Remember it well, in the days when a 6am emergence from a bar wasn't a thing. But you could bet your bottom dollar that this current relaxation murmur is all him, too. -
Mid-air mayhem: Turbulence terror hits global flights
daveAustin replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Perhaps because there’s not much chance of a head-on collision in the air? 😜 Used to be a thing, esp in Asia, where numerous people would take the sign being de-lit as their cue to unclick. Like to think people have taken heed that it only means one is free to move about. -

Thai transgender woman causes chaos at Taipei 101
daveAustin replied to webfact's topic in Gay People in Thailand
Perhaps ‘she’ was just doing a bit of dusting. -
Most westerners would assume farang men with Thai ladies are sex tourists, and Thais sadly also tend to think that way... reason many 'normal' Thai girls don't want to be seen with a farang because of the stigma. But, if this is not a wind up, why would you give a flying one what anyone may be thinking, esp salty western females? F them. Life's too short. Just do your thing and carry on.

Yada yada out of touch macron. The French people are rightly pissed off with having their country overrun, all the while dictated to by horrid numpties with an agenda. The rise of the right is a direct consequence of having left wing tat forced on ordinary people with no real persuasion, with services stretched and communities diluted etc etc. Extreme leftwing and rightwing are as equally repugnant, but Macron himself has helped to cause this mess.

What are the positive aspects to living in Thailand?
daveAustin replied to bob smith's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Anywhere can be if you let it I guess, but I find the west especially plain. No magic.
