This monopoly recently reported a loss of 1.5 Billion Baht , the first such loss.

This means that the Thai taxpayers are now subsidising the company as it's a state enterprise.

How can the monopoly generate such a huge loss?
In a business where all other tobacco companies in the world achieve billions in profits? Who is just putting all the money in his bag?

  2. The entire watch theater has been running for over four months and almost all Thai people laugh about it.

The damage in terms of credibility is huge. And now, after four months, he comes out with the alleged truth?

Why did he not clear that up on the first day? Any other government would immediately fire such a member for damaging the government's reputation. This case has all the elements like Inability, stupidity, lies, negligence, etc. Is he still suitable to hold such a high office?

The golden mantra.....always be more worth alive then dead....

Never buy in somebody else's name.....leasehold seems a good alternative....have a will in both countries that clearly leaves the property to a family member of yours....and of course, avoid getting married, kids and if possible, pretend the house is rented even if it's on leasehold......any other good suggestions ?

Have everything you have enumerated, land + house in my wifes name (with a 30 year lease for me), 22 years of marriage and children. But only 30% of my money is tied up in it. If everything collapsed today, I could have fun in Nana every day until the end of my life.
I find the right budgeting with money much more important!

  4. Sad, Tragic, RIP.
Emotions and finances never go well together.
How many times has it been to read here, that many have ruined themselves financially in Thailand.
Be it with a business, buying land or just with an unfortunate marriage.
    Golden Rules:
Never invest your entire money in a project over which you have no total control.
Never invest more than 50% of your entire money in a single project.
Nothing is constant forever, be it love or the income from a business.
Plan not only for the best case, but also for the worst case.
When doubts arise, they are always entitled.
    Learn to say no.

  5. I've never heard anything like that before. Price for a new car and then plus more than 100% for maintenance? That can not be.

My Toyota pickup was original price 1 million. I then pay more then another million on top for 10 years maintenance?
    No way.
Obviously a case for the anti-corruption commission.

  6. Section 113 of the Thai Penal Code

Whoever, commits an act of violence or threatens to commit an act of violence in order to:

    (1) Overthrow or change the Constitution;

    (2) Overthrow the legislative power, the executive power or the judicial power of the Constitution, or nullify such power; or

    (3) Separate the Kingdom or seize the power of administration in any part of the Kingdom, is said to commit insurrection, and shall be punished with death or imprisonment for life.

    Thailand has quite severe penalties.

But 10 years prison for vaping is nonsense. This only promotes

    extortion and corruption.

  7. Maybe the rest of the world should start taxing unhealthy food like McD, Burger K, KFC, Coca Cola, Pepsi, etc. Also the malfunctioning Microsoft products, Intel spy processors, HD bikes, Nike, Lewis.
Incredible that the citizens of the United States let such a fart at the atomic buttons.
