  1. I thought that the losers accounted for more than 40%?
  2. Not judgemental at all then? Understand that many couples, especially in rural areas, are not legally married. What does a 'village wedding' do to your stats?
  3. Sihanoukville is the the only place that comes close......but I hear the Chinese have forked that up. Still if you are OK with hoardes of Russians................................
  4. Who 'taught' them to do that? Millions of Thais who have never met, never passed on information or tuition...................... From Phuket to Pai and Buriram to Hua Hin they do that - and have been doing so for decades.
  5. Not worked up at all, I just hate inefficient systems and a decision process that relies on one person talking to another, Any criteria that starts with the assumption that the applicant actually wants to emigrate to the USA is both misguided and arrogant, Having been involved in obtaining somewhere approaching 100 visas I can safely say that the US application process is the worst I have come across.....on top of that ....133 days to make an appointment - pathetic. Discriminatory against Thais - most certainly - I avoided using the term "racist"....now go and look that up.
  6. Oh, I don't know.....it perhaps puts the posts into perspective.
  7. A good post. Whilst you may well be right (in the changing your mind scenario), DWP will not confirm this. They will say that each case is determined on it's merits and there is specific rule covering it..............................Personally, I don't believe that but I have yet to see anything 'official' published on the EXACT criteria for retaining the uprated amount if you subsequently decide to return to Thailand.
  8. No......there is nothing to back it up.
  9. ....................failed the exam!
  10. Where there's a will, there's a way....................
  11. It isn't on their website. If you have a link to prove me wrong I will be happy.
  12. Yep.....2 UK bank accounts plus WISE should see you OK. That said, surely MOST people living in Thailand have a relative or friend who will provide an accommodation address.
  13. Personally, and based on a wooly reply from DWP, I would say not. The pension would revert to the original frozen amount.
  14. Oooooh, I can't possibly imagine.....
  15. !00% spot on.......and I think that @ukrules is throwing in a red herring with the unrelated 'offshore banking' - Offshore banking was separated from "UK Banking" some time ago. In the UK it is simply a case of the costs of compliance with 'non-resident' accounts - the UK banks' response - take a sledgehammer to it and insist on UK residency as a requirement for opening an account.
  16. Titled a benefit but treated differently.
  17. Googling would have offered you "Department for Work and Pensions"
  18. You have made separate statements - neither of which provide any evidence that what is happening in the UK is connected to K Bank's current request. All departments have the ability to interchange information; it just that they only/usually reserve it for high value situations. A friend recently returned from the UK. The length of his stay was uncertain (family terminal illness) so he advised DWP of his arrival. He was told to advise them when he returned to Thailand. He didn't advise DWP on his return ( he was going to take advantage of one more higher payment) but a few days later his payment came through at the previously frozen amount. DWP could only have received that information from Immigration.
  19. Unconnected. This has nothing to do with false/non declarations to the DWP.
  20. Thanks. I would have thought they, like central Pattaya/Jomtien, would be clued up. Rural areas less so.
  21. You are full of cr4p.
