  1. Seems like a no brainer to me. My GF is 33 years younger than me, and the spare is 30 years younger. The wife is only 19 years younger 🙂 I wouldn't be doing that in America.
  2. My cousin took his wife tp Pattaya to celebrate his 5oth birthday. They had a great time. I have also seen Farang couples holiday in Pattaya for the purpose of taking additional sexual partners. One size does not fit all.
  3. Apparently, they do have Sheilas in Oz.
  4. That seems like a fair summary of events.
  5. We are having a cold snap .............you won't be seeing me in flip flops and a Chang singlet.
  6. Jeez, I am almost shaking in my boots............................not!
  7. You are a classic oil industry visitor to Thailand - one month on, one month off.. The point is that, in these circumstances, you are married to a Thai and your homed is in Thailand; the appropriate visa/extension for you is one based on marriage.
  8. ....and those that voted for the 'losers'?
  9. No.....that bit is ideal for a first visit. I do fail to see the attraction of a national, of any country, visiting Pattaya and wanting to spend all their time with other nationals of his country.
  10. I am surprised that you are surprised by the IO's actions. The first principle of entry requirements is that you have the visa that is appropriate to your circumstances. VE or TV are not suitable for someone living in Thailand or making regular visits to see their Thai wife.
  11. Wombat & Kiwi bar
  12. I have joined the sourdough bread bandwagon.
  13. That is all you need to know at this stage. Ignore the potential for future issues, or prepare for the possibilty. I don't give a toss what you choose to do, I have made adequate provision for the unlikely event that the UK banks may take a tougher stance on expat accounts during my lifetime..
  14. I have only witnessed similar events in Scotland - where there is arguably a stronger daytime drinking culture.
  15. Lots of them were there? Which part of England was this?
  16. You have been here long enough to know that it was your fault. Rule 1: Expect the unexpected Rule 2: never try and cross the Sukhumvit Road unless via footbridge.
  17. Not tricky......................it is simply not possible to open an account with a mainstream bank.
  18. Don't treat him like a fool....................or you could be wearing the dunce's hat.
  19. It has happened. There have been threads on here in which it has been reported. So - YES - it has been shown to be correct. HOWEVER, at the moment it is not widespread and I have not seen one bank come out and state that it is their policy to close non-resident accounts....... Another HOWEVER, you cannot open a new UK bank if you not UK resident. Take that concept a stage further and a logical next step would be to attack low-hanging fruit i.e. existing accounts with an overseas address - or where non-residency has been declared. Compliance is the reason cited by the banks, or more specifically "much higher costs of compliance" where non-resident accounts are concerned. Everyone should have a WISE account as a back up.
