Pattaya mayor backs selling alcohol from 2 pm to 5 pm in hotels
LALes replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
4 am closing. Ok for Walking Street but a real pain in the a** for residents anywhere else. Just so a few alcs can stay out even later annoying nearby residents. If there was an enforceable "entertainment district", it might work but with the World Class Pattaya police force, this proposal will just bring more misery to locals trying to get a decent night's sleep. -
At last, someone who gets it!! Excellent comprehension, Redinvestor, and thanks for the tips. After 10 days of runaround from Lazada, I have moved past this affair. Bought a new phone at Banana and resigned myself to the loss. If I want to peel off the scab and get back into this mess, I will follow your suggestions but honestly, I can do without the aggravation. I will go back to the Police and see if they will do a further investigation with Best, Inc. but beyond that, I'm not eager.
-
I didn't move the transaction outside Lazada, the sender did. Obviously a scam in cahoots with the seller, who gave him my order info.
-
You're wrong. This was a Lazada seller.
-
The seller I bought from had the Official Samsung Store logo. I thought he was legit, but I guess not. Lazada does a terrible job of vetting their sellers if they even bother at all.
-
My order wasn't cancelled until a week after the incident. Their investigation convinced them that the seller violated Lazada's policy. But, that doesn't mean I'm getting a refund. They still refuse to take responsibility.
-
How else does a 3rd party get a hold of my order information? Probably the seller working in cahoots with a scam buddy.
-
Why is this relevant? The seller has already been cited for violating Lazada policy.
-
I took a chance on a new seller because he had the item I wanted at a good price. Last year's models are hard to find. At 9,600 baht for an M52, it was a good deal for a hard-to-find phone but not enough to set off a red flag. I still say the ultimate responsibility rests with the website for hosting scam sellers.
-
Lazada is denying my refund because it was not their delivery. I say they are responsible for my order information being leaked to a 3rd party. Lazada admits that their seller violated their policy.
-
It was a 3rd party courier. Best Inc.
-
You didn't read the OP correctly.
-
The item was "purchased" through Lazada's website. I agreed to COD with Lazada seller. He never sent it. Whoever did, got my info from Lazada.
-
The seller did not cancel the order. Lazada cancelled the order after their investigation. Their conclusion that the seller violated Lazada's standards is correct. Yet, they refuse to take responsibility.
-
Seller was listed as being in Udon Thani. Too new for a rating. 3rd party courier is Lazada's excuse. Not their problem, they say. They are conveniently forgetting that the only way the 3rd party got my order info was from one of their sellers.

I purchased a new Samsung phone COD from a seller on Lazada last week. The seller gave my information to a friend who sent me a scam package with a dinky, old phone like the kind you used 20 years ago. I tried to open the package before handing over the 10,000 baht to the delivery driver but he wouldn't let me. The package was in a Lazada box with Lazada packing tape all around it. Inside was the real Samsung box, shrink wrapped to look like it just came from the factory, but that's where the real stuff ended. I immediately tried to call Lazada but they don't have any operators on the weekend (this was a Saturday) so I had to do online chat and upload photos of the whole mess. I was told to wait 2 business days. Hearing nothing, I called them on Tuesday and they told me to contact the courier (Best Inc.) because they had no notification of a package being sent by Lazada. Best Inc. has refused any responsibility, saying they only deliver parcels-they don't know what's inside. Trying to locate the sender is impossible. Fake phone number, etc. If you think you are going to get a thorough investigation, forget it. Lazada doesn't bother to contact the courier or try to find the sender. After a week of back and forth with operators and supervisors, they are still trying to use the courier angle to deflect responsibility. I filed a Police Report on Friday and they even called Lazada. While I was in the police station, I got an email from Lazada saying my order was cancelled due to "Seller has violated Lazada standards" and I would be getting a refund notice within 24 hours. Of course, that never came. Yesterday, I contacted Lazada again and they have no record of that email. How convenient. Instead, they doubled down on the courier angle and refused my refund when they are totally responsible for this whole mess. Only the Lazada seller had my order information and the onus falls on them for not vetting their vendors. Trying to get the person who made the decision on the phone is impossible. Like most major companies, Lazada has a wall of protection to keep customers flailing at the gates and hopefully, they give up and go away. You have to go through the usual maze of automation to get a human and that person only repeats the company line. Be forewarned about Lazada. If you have a problem, it will take a lot of work and they will do everything to deny your refund. Even getting scammed by one of their sellers will not guarantee a refund if they have any lame excuse they can trot out. They are not here for you.

Tourism ministry to propose zoning for night spots to operate up to 4am
LALes replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
The plethora of bars that have sprung up in residential areas in Pattaya and Jomtien will take advantage of this, much to the chagrin of local residents. I highly doubt they are in legally classified "entertainment zones" but there is no enforcement anyways. -
Annoying Arab/Indian motorcycle gang busted by Pattaya traffic police

Starting to see these yahoos in Jomtien, too. RTP needs to nip this in the bud. -
As a former resident of Soi 10, I can tell you the closure of his park did deaden the lives of locals to a degree. The fact that its been closed for 6 years does not diminish the impact it had on residents of Soi 10 who used the park every day for exercise, socializing or just relaxing out of the din of Sukhomvit. More closures all the time, each one deadening the character of inner Sukhomvit until it becomes just another faceless street full of high rises.

If that were the case, the mask would only cover your mouth.

I started wearing a mask on all flights a few years before Covid. I was getting colds every time I flew a long haul. Too many bozos out there. Gotta protect yourself. I'm used to it now.

ferry possibility from pattaya to hua hin?
LALes replied to capcase's topic in Thailand Travel Forum
I took it once on a round trip. Neither way was anyways near full capacity. This was early 2019, long before Covid. Just not enough customers to make it work.
