  1. You didn't read the OP correctly.
  2. The item was "purchased" through Lazada's website. I agreed to COD with Lazada seller. He never sent it. Whoever did, got my info from Lazada.
  3. The seller did not cancel the order. Lazada cancelled the order after their investigation. Their conclusion that the seller violated Lazada's standards is correct. Yet, they refuse to take responsibility.
  4. Seller was listed as being in Udon Thani. Too new for a rating. 3rd party courier is Lazada's excuse. Not their problem, they say. They are conveniently forgetting that the only way the 3rd party got my order info was from one of their sellers.
  5. I purchased a new Samsung phone COD from a seller on Lazada last week. The seller gave my information to a friend who sent me a scam package with a dinky, old phone like the kind you used 20 years ago. I tried to open the package before handing over the 10,000 baht to the delivery driver but he wouldn't let me. The package was in a Lazada box with Lazada packing tape all around it. Inside was the real Samsung box, shrink wrapped to look like it just came from the factory, but that's where the real stuff ended. I immediately tried to call Lazada but they don't have any operators on the weekend (this was a Saturday) so I had to do online chat and upload photos of the whole mess. I was told to wait 2 business days. Hearing nothing, I called them on Tuesday and they told me to contact the courier (Best Inc.) because they had no notification of a package being sent by Lazada. Best Inc. has refused any responsibility, saying they only deliver parcels-they don't know what's inside. Trying to locate the sender is impossible. Fake phone number, etc. If you think you are going to get a thorough investigation, forget it. Lazada doesn't bother to contact the courier or try to find the sender. After a week of back and forth with operators and supervisors, they are still trying to use the courier angle to deflect responsibility. I filed a Police Report on Friday and they even called Lazada. While I was in the police station, I got an email from Lazada saying my order was cancelled due to "Seller has violated Lazada standards" and I would be getting a refund notice within 24 hours. Of course, that never came. Yesterday, I contacted Lazada again and they have no record of that email. How convenient. Instead, they doubled down on the courier angle and refused my refund when they are totally responsible for this whole mess. Only the Lazada seller had my order information and the onus falls on them for not vetting their vendors. Trying to get the person who made the decision on the phone is impossible. Like most major companies, Lazada has a wall of protection to keep customers flailing at the gates and hopefully, they give up and go away. You have to go through the usual maze of automation to get a human and that person only repeats the company line. Be forewarned about Lazada. If you have a problem, it will take a lot of work and they will do everything to deny your refund. Even getting scammed by one of their sellers will not guarantee a refund if they have any lame excuse they can trot out. They are not here for you.
  6. The plethora of bars that have sprung up in residential areas in Pattaya and Jomtien will take advantage of this, much to the chagrin of local residents. I highly doubt they are in legally classified "entertainment zones" but there is no enforcement anyways.
  7. Starting to see these yahoos in Jomtien, too. RTP needs to nip this in the bud.
  8. Independent restaurants all over the area. Pomodoro, Mrs. Balbir to name a few. As with change anywhere, it rarely is for the better.
  9. As a former resident of Soi 10, I can tell you the closure of his park did deaden the lives of locals to a degree. The fact that its been closed for 6 years does not diminish the impact it had on residents of Soi 10 who used the park every day for exercise, socializing or just relaxing out of the din of Sukhomvit. More closures all the time, each one deadening the character of inner Sukhomvit until it becomes just another faceless street full of high rises.
  10. If that were the case, the mask would only cover your mouth.
  11. I started wearing a mask on all flights a few years before Covid. I was getting colds every time I flew a long haul. Too many bozos out there. Gotta protect yourself. I'm used to it now.
  12. I took it once on a round trip. Neither way was anyways near full capacity. This was early 2019, long before Covid. Just not enough customers to make it work.
  13. Edward Snowden detailed how the NSA was spying big time on any and all American citizens; collecting data at will. Did he get a medal for his whistleblowing? No, they wanted to string him up. Don't expect any Thai Snowdens to come along.
  14. A lot of the young hotties leave the country for big bucks in Japan, Korea, Dubai, etc. You are right. It ain't the same scene it was 30 years ago.
  15. Its not pointless for the high-ups in the Gov who are reaping big profits from this charade. Don't expect them to give up the gravy train without a fight.
  16. I heard that the insurance companies are raising the rates for Covid insurance and the coverage stays the same at $10,000. If this is not the most brazen scam, I don't know what is.
  17. The insurance requirement is a scam, plain and simple. Even at 650 baht it is worthless. Try making a claim with this insurance if you get Covid while in Thailand. You will be denied. Some high-ups in the Gov must be raking it in. Reprehensible behavior.
  18. OK, here's the deal. Theoretically, you need to cover the length of your visa-in your case, 42 days, which means you would have to buy 2 months of insurance. BUT, some people are getting approved for the Thai Pass, including yours truly, with only the minimum 30 days insurance. You pays yer money, you take yer chances.
  19. "some hotels might lose their privileges". Translation...lose their place at the feeding trough. Watta racket this Test & Go is. For $150, you get an airport pickup, a $20 swab test, and a crappy meal in the morning. You're gonna have to pry this away from their cold, clammy hands.
  20. I submitted my materials on Saturday with Agoda confirmation. Early Monday came the hotel's official confirmation which I submitted as an add-on using my Thailand Pass number to access my account. Got approved late Monday morning.
  21. I tested negative 11 days after recovery. I only got tested because I needed to for travel. After 5 days, I felt fine. As for fever, I probably had a mild one. I broke out in sweats a couple of times but nothing serious. I didn't have a thermometer to take my temperature.
  22. I'm pretty sure I got Omicron about 24-36 hours after contact. I had two doses of Pfizer but that was 9 months prior to the Covid. The first two days were the worst. Heavy cough, upper body ache, hot and cold, extreme fatigue. 5 day ordeal and done. I stayed at home the whole time. Tested myself the first day and I was positive.
  23. Just bought some cheapo insurance for 650 baht. Here goes nuthin'.
  24. I'm looking at the fine print on the AXA website and it says that the insurance is only good until you leave and does NOT start up again when you return!! This can be a problem for a Non O who has to buy insurance for the duration of the visa. What if I go out multiple times? Am I going to have to buy long term insurance each time? My extension expires in December. I don't want to be buying long term insurance each time I want to go out. Something doesn't seem right here. Can anyone clarify?
