  1. Odds of anything that creates economic activity and does not create risk for status quo of society being stopped indeed are low, especially so if it creates revenue streams for RTP or people in administration. Might be banned in law but not enforced at all (just collect envelopes) But but then if the activity in question is a concern for the system, it is a different ballgame. Just look at future forward and likely to happen to its successor as well.
  2. Education system is exactly as it is designed to be by those in power. About same as in 19th century Europe.
  3. Really no need to say much more, but I this story tells quite a bit about Buddhism in Thai cultural context, pretty much covering all angles.
  4. Motorbike repair shops take off old cover and staple new one in place in about 20min, just need a proper stapler (pneumatic usually). I have had mine replaced twice at pratamnak Soi 6 motorbike repair shop due to cats ripping it. They have covers for common models in stock. You can get your own cover from lazada too and have that installed if want specific style. I paid 200 baht for the work with my own cover. I recall 300 incl the cover (was for click). If you fuzzy about type of cover, texture, color etc bring your own cover if you don't like what they have. https://s.lazada.co.th/s.MRBjD
  5. ... Or third optijn: if the sex is worth the money in quality and quantity, just adjust your thinking about the relationship and your behavior a bit to match the situation. If you are treated like a customer then treat her like a hooker.
  6. She succeeded in what Putin at least so far has failed, even if he did pick the spot right next to entrance. Straightest path is not always the shortest maybe.
  7. When will the one-way Buakhao happen? Have details about the traffic arrangement somewhere?
  8. Immediate reaction after seeing the headline was that now they want to do the same smart "name upgrade" thingy as they did for Bang Sue station, but seems not. So far anyway.
  9. Believe when I see it approved. Until that just talking among many other talks.
  10. I understood from the OP (maybe erroneously?) that water was being supplied by truck to cover for water shortage, and concern was air possibly being mixed to get bigger meter reading for the bill from that guy. Just like the tuned taxi fare meters running double speed. After the meter sure nothing changes.
  11. If a thai is in a position to get cash by selling air as water based on baht/cbm deal, certainly there is a solution to this. if nothing else then a separate compressor!
  12. If water level in your tank is low enough so that the foot valve is not properly under water, 100% sure you get air mixed in. If you just want to know if the water pumped to your house has air mixed in, disconnect the bum gun from the hose and put the hose into a bucket that has enough water to keep the hose under water, and open the valve so that water can flow to the bucket (keep end of the hose under water). If you don't see bubbles, not (at least much) air. If see bubbles, has air mixed with water. You should also hear it by listening the pump, it gets noisy if air mixed in. I would expect to be able to hear it also e.g when toilet is filling, not quiet any more.
  13. What kind of power crypto is giving back to people?
  14. Isn't that required to support people selling crypto?
  15. ... Or before account in your name used to receive bribes, drug or gambling revenues or something of that nature once your daughter gets a bit older and gets assimilated to local business habits (if she lives here)...
  16. You must be misinformed. It must be dirty farangs, or at least farangs. Or possibly farangs disguised as Thai. How else could you blame someone else?
  17. I would reckon Pattaya Beach should be higher on the list for the very reason the writer thinks it mayeb should not (not have stunning beauty), actually Pattaya Beach have many stunning beauties. At a fairly affordable rate. What Beach can beat that?
  18. Probably the starting capacitor if it does not run or run slow. If you can not replace yourself this guy can do https://maps.app.goo.gl/r9L8SRWc5Cn9hrU29 Have many small electric repair shops around, all can do simple 5 min job. Take off the motor cover. See small black block connected with 2 wires. Snap it off and get a replacement (amorn, lazada, any electric shop) and connect back. 20-30 baht part
  19. You can just go to city hall, tell your condo address number (123/456 Moo 00) and voila they print the invoice and you pay cash on the spot. Did for myself and 3 of my neighbors (none of who had received the invoice, nor me) after Songkran
  20. I had reported my tm30 (myself online) day after my arrival in Feb. Officer did not say anything about tm30, just said new system such that every time after coming to thailand, can not do first 90 day report online. TIT
  21. Just out from immigration for the 90 day report. Asked why got rejection even if always worked OK online for many years. Answer was that hab new system (software) and now need to do first 90 day report after returning to thailand in person, after that presumably can do online. Stupid if you ask me... Before was so that you had to do in person after entering the country with new passport first time, after that ok online.
  22. ... And if you are in Jomtien, and if the part is steel, this shop off watboon probably can fix it (weld) too. Or possibly make replacement one if some special alloy that can not weld (try if magnet sticks, if it does it is steel) https://goo.gl/maps/KnA837WVWmGkrdvm9
  23. Filed a new one Monday morning with same results, came back rejected afternoon. Need to pay a visit to Soi 5 some day.
  24. Some european countries did similar move some years back. To deal with that, Alibaba created a system that they handle the VAT payments automatically for all the millions of parcels the sellers sell on their platform. No work at all for buyer. If you choose such euro country as your shipment location, price is different than e.g Thailand, and stated that it include VAT. Parcels come home in mail like before, just VAT added. So this is actually (relatively) favourable to Alibaba as they have system in place, whereas some smaller sellers may not. The question how will Thai govt officials enable that system to be connect to their system, as if all done automatically, not much chance to extort bribes from buyers. Alibaba sure need to pay something to customs to compensate the losses of course...but to block off Alibaba from selling to Thailand, wont happen as big brother will come remind who is big brother if they try! So, as long as they allow the IT systems to talk, this is no issue, and fully understandable for Thai govt to do it, though of course I would prefer to buy tax free.
