  1. What's the point of this? It is widely publicized in media that Bout was captured in Thailand, which naturally means thai officials were involved. Asking for some special thanks looks pathetic. Like a narc begging for attention on matters old.
  2. well, not based on personal experience. but read quite a few comments that they do not, incl. from people who swapped due to the throttling
  3. Wishful thinking if you ask me. Thai immigration not arranging visas with kickbacks is about as likely as peasant revolution here, just won't happen. Too many impacted and too much at stake, and the national corrupt culture as it is. Temporary measures yes, but longer term I see no chance. But who in 1775 would have believed France would be a republic in less than 20 yrs, so you never know...
  4. Considering whether should change from TRUE to AIS due to TRUE seemingly throttling speed in evenings. Looked at AIS web pages, looked very confusing to me, just could not manage to find much details of the packages in English, rather clicking leading to jumping between graphical pages without much detail... Anyone with AIS service could comment: 1. How is the channel list for the (presumably?) free included Family TV channel package? Can see the list in some website in understandable presentation? 2. Any idea whether the remote control for their TV box is BT or Infrared? (I have HDMI extenders with IR support to control my current TRUE box from 3 floors of the house, and would like that in future too). 2. Any idea whether it is possible to suspend the service if out of the country for extended periods of time (like TRUE can do I think max 2x 3mo per year)?
  5. Comedy continues... This one might well give many more good laughs! Soon one govt department sues another, and maybe the smaller operators sue govt too. TRUE sits and smiles as do the envelope recipients... TIT.
  6. ... He probably did, incl his own share of that, and concluded that with surging prices they need to increase either their kickback percentage or the total spending to keep their income aligned with inflation. Seems they going for the latter...
  7. If you really want complete non-visibility of bars with girls, in reality you need to substantially limit your mobility or go a bit out from city area to south jomtien or beyond. Thus, you should define your expectations a bit more to get good advice. But sure possible to visit pattaya without seeing them.
  8. crushing the beans vs sucking the nipples...extreme ends of the pleasure scale 555!
  9. You answered your own question... Fixing roads have far smaller kickback that these very expensive lamps... Follow the money answers almost all questions here...
  10. okay seems like a powershift dejavu! anyway I not followed this trans at all, but all too familiar with powershift...
  11. Oh okay, have to admit I really dont now much abou that, just that the T6 ranger (that I was considering to buy in 2016-7) used the 6-speed auto that was licensed copy of ZF 6HP26 that is good trans widely used in euro and US cars (and also have Aisin copy for Japanese) Newer 10 speed I think some kind of joint job with GM, not aware of details nor possible relation to 6HP26 or issues of it.
  12. Ranger gearbox nothing to do with powershift, it is conventional torque converter trans. I'm not aware of any major issues with any other Ford gearbox than the DPS6 that was put to use before development and verification properly completed. The Jatco-made CVT gearboxes most japanese now use in their compacts now is another thing I would not touch even with a stick...
  13. Absolutely. Probably the best way to get proper free media visibility for the real thing without saying it. The "Kremlin approach" of denying something in real world actually mean confirming something does not work as well pattayas case, even if they have tried to preach the Family Resort thingy. It just confuses people. Harassing Beach road streetwalkers and ensuring media reports about that works much better.
  14. All Fiestas in Thailand have powershift DPS6 DCT gearbox, better stay out esp now when warranty end time even for latest models is coming due soon. At least I would. Focus pre-2012 and about 2015 onwards (with new face and 1.5 turbo engine instead of the 2.0L) is with torque converter that's OK. 2015 kind of like a bug fix facelift - unfortunately not many sold here as reputation for the model gone with the 2012 powershift disaster. If you want to learn more about the worldwide issue, just google Ford powershift recall or problem. I have 2013 foxus S I bought cheap 2nd hand early 2017 with about 50km in odo at the time, driven about 30k since. Great car to drive and so far lucky without trans/clutch or any other major issues, other than the free software update. Engine and trans mounts are the other weak spot, mine were shot when bought and replaced right a way, since that OK. Ex Gf has fiesta 2012. Trans control unit failed, luckily few months before warranty expiry. Also, some plastic cooling system part failed resulting to water out and conseuqent full engine job costing 20+k baht overall. I would not buy powershift equipped ford now in any possible scenario even if like my car. But likely to keep mine as long as it works ok. But 2015- focus I would consider. Issue is limited quantities in market and spare parts price/availability concerns due to that Get a Mazda, 2 or 3 about same car with Fiesta/Focus without trans issues and spare parts concerns, looks of course matter of taste. Mazda does not use CVT either unlike most new small cheap japanese sedans do.
  15. quite funny these survey rankings...city like Mexico City on top 10, whereas Vancouver in bottom 10...
  16. Sure... But this one is strange as the whole back wings are black, yet the main wing is occupied. And I do not believr in coincidences... I doubt because of foreign quota, rather a regulatory or legal reason of some kind would explain. Just curious.
  17. Okay... You remember if the price vs the main wing were off in value? Anyway something strange must be behind of the empty wings as for a developer hard to understand why not sell at market price. Also, wonder how they count or not count towards maintenance fees.
  18. Sometimes wondering why the back wings are still empty - do you have any idea? Must be some regulatory/legal reason as otherwise does not make sense to keep empty for years. Effectively about half of the units in the building not in use, not sure if sold but no lights ever in side wings.
  19. Talking about milk, some subejectively scientific observations: I've had the habit of only buying the Meiji milk until couple of weeks ago, purely out of curiosity, thought I would try if any difference between different brands and started to buy different can every time until can not find new ones. Bought a can of the red-labeled stuff, packed in cylindrical 2L can from BigC -> down to drain after taste. Too 'milky' odd taste to my mouth Then tried the Foremost rectangular can -> same result, too much of the odd taste. Next in line the Party Dairy from BigC (indeed 10 bath cheaper for some reason) -> taste identical to Meiji Then the black-capped stuff in similar shape can with Meiji -> again, no difference to Meiji in my mouth. Next Thai-Danmark in similar shape blue capped can as Meiji -> same taste with Meiji again. Still to test at least the Chockchai brand I only use milk for coffee - but drink A LOT of coffee. Surprised the two odd tasting brands actually make even coffee taste not good to my mouth.
  20. Follow goverment news and announcements, it's like April 1st every day!
  21. Just to follow up on this one - did my extension the other day, and indeed the IO carefully checked my balance during past 12mo, and after checking said 'you need to be careful not to let the balance to go below the required levels'. Thus, at least in Pattaya immigration they indeed seem to be serious with this requirement.
