10 year warranty but have stopped making the parts
seajae replied to seajae's topic in General Topics
thanks everyone, we did try to have it repaired by the seller but they told us that Samsung no longer make the compressors for our model even though it is no where near 10 years old, go figure. -
We bought a large 2 door Samsung fridge 6 or so years ago and it came witha 10 year warranty on the compressor. Unfortunately the compressor needs to be replaced but my wife was told they no longer make them so will not be able to fix it leaving us with a fridge that doesnt work but still has s a few years to run on the warranty, The question is with the warranty still in effect are we entitled to it being repaired or if they cant repair it should they replace it, Samsung is a big company world wide so you would expect good back up service but being Thailand can make it a problem as I doubt they will want to do anything that would be a financial loss to them so dont really know where we stand, anyone have any idea of what can be done id all they will say is no longer make a replacement compressor, bad luck and refuse to honor the warranty. Mods, if wrong topic please move

had it since '93, L4/5 s1/2, couldnt do very much by myself for 6 months(shower, sit & get off a toilet, wipe my bum etc), wore a back brace(from bum to shoulder) for a couple of years, if I twist I collapse(lose all sensation below the waist), if I walk for too long my feet stop working(cant lift them off the ground and trip on grass), pain 24/7 in varying degrees, pain radiates through the groin down both legs into my toes, also intense pins & needles, did pain management as well as several other things but none of it helped so was on opoids for pain and meds to stop severe mood swings. After a little over 20 years I weened myself off the meds with the help of some home made "cookies" and now I just put up with the pain, some days are pretty bad and some not so bad, cant do a lot of physical things but I refuse to lie down and die, saw several top specialists in Australia, each wanted to do different things but I refused any ops after speaking to people that had had them and after what they told me they go through. Would love to be able to wake up with no pain and do some physical things I used to do again(used to be heavily involved in sport at state representitive level, even going fishing) but know its highly unlikely to happen, medical procedures are definitely a very last resort until they can guarantee my mobility will be better and pain free, until then I will just keep laughing and joking with a smile on my face to hide what I am going through, unfortunately what works for one doesnt always work for others

I was told by my wife a wai to the forehead is for monks as a sign of respect to them, everyone else it is equivelent to a hand shake/greeting in the west so if I am wai'd I always return it and it is how I greet others unless I shake hands, I imagine that there are a lot of farangs that simply do not respect anyone else from some of the comments but I suppose it is to be expected from the ones that refuse to respect others

Burmese worker cant renew expired passport
seajae replied to seajae's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
thanks again mate, as for the "agent" comments, our information was from the person we deal with in our local immigration centre, would imagine agents would want this to be not true as it will take away a lot of their profits if they are not needed. The biggest problem with many Burmese is that they cannot read or write thai so are unable to fill in forms etc, our worker/s and their kids do not have a last name either, kids were not registered at birth in Thailand because their parents cannot read/write thai but my wife has also sorted this out and got them into school. They are dirt poor because agents have been ripping them off blind of all their money so they can stay in Thailand along with the other Burmese they know and they didnt know any better or how to get away from it but with my wifes help they will finally be sorted out which is why I imagine many agents that deal with Burmese will be extremely upset and try to deny it can be done as they will lose all the money they make from them so easily. As for valid passports they havent been able to get them for a few years as the thugs that took over the country will not issue them so many have expired which is the big problem but it is being sorted out, our local immigration has already done a workshop previously to help them and another will be done soon so work permits etc can be issued. -
Burmese worker cant renew expired passport
seajae replied to seajae's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
update - local immigration office said they may be able to help, they said that there are a lot of Burmese workers in the same boat currently and that they will let us know when they are holding their next work shop where they can issue certificates. Virtually all the Burmese workers passports are over a year expired, many longer but at least immigration is prepared to help. -
Wise again
seajae replied to norfolkandchance's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
I did a wise transfer yesterday and it only took a couple of minutes from my aussie account to my Bangkok bank account, -
Around 10 days or so ago my mastercard stopped working outside of Thailand, I was still able to do thai payments with it but nothing outside of Thailand which makes it hard to pay for Netflix etc plus any purchases. I wrote to the Bangkok bank head office about it asking them to allow me to use MY money as I wished but they said I had to remove all limits off my card if I want to use it internationally(arent the limits there to stop accounts being drained), I have been using it for several years without a problem with a set limit I never go over so this was a real surprize to me as it would open me up to having my account drained. With all the money going missing from bank accounts lately it makes me wonder if something is amiss as my master card was working fine with no problems prior to this happening, have any other members had their international payments from Bangkok bank stopped

Burmese worker cant renew expired passport
seajae replied to seajae's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
thanks mate, appreciate that, trouble will be getting to Bangkok but at least geing able to renew them is good news -
We have been fortunate enough to find a really great worker, problem is their passport has expired and the Myanmar govt are not renewing any passports. We need to get them an extension of stay as well as extend their work permit but are not sure how to go about it, does anyone know if immigration are allowing Burmese workers to get extensions seeing their govt is refuing to renew any passports, they have been in Thailand for many years with their partner(passport also expired) & children that were born in Thailand, Any help would be appreciated

cant understand why people are trying to make this political when it isnt, children do not have the mental capacity to make these decisions when they at an age that can easily be confused or even pushed to do what others want. The problem is we are seeing older kids/adult that under went these changes to the opposite gender saying they should never have done it and that they regret listening to others for convincing them to do so, they were not mature enough to make that decision, these kids do not have enough life experience and always have others pushing them. I have no doubt that there are those that think they should have been born different and can accept their decision to live as the opposite sex but even these people are usually against doing anything to young children, removing breasts or re-assigning ones genitals is not something kids should have to think about and when you look at this it is usually being pushed by others onto them. I have had many gay/trans friends over the years, even used to have some that were part of the aussie "les girls" scene back in the day(used to get into their shows free), they were all great people and I really enjoyed hanging with them even though I am hetero, they would have me in tears I would laugh that hard but they were all adults and were my friends, kids need to be kids, they shouldnt have to think about gender especially when there are so many teachers etc now pushing their own agendas onto them. If a child isnt sure they should be getting help from professionals/counselors not teachers etc, they need independant help and they need to be mature enough to know all the facts before they do any surgery, this is not something young children can do. Even in the lgbtq groups there are those that think its wrong to push these kids, these kids need to allowed to have a childhood without being pushed by their parents, teachers etc into something they may regret later on, last thing we want is their lives destroyed by others pressuring their immature and easily manipulated minds.

wrong, if seeking asylum you are required to stop in the first country where they are no longer persecuted, not keep going till you find one that is more financial for you, these people are illegals and should be removed from the US, they have been sent to cities offering asylum for them then these cities are sending them away because they dont actually want them staying there, shows just how pathetic and full of shat democrats are

Question about a Thailandpost failed delivery attempt for a package.
seajae replied to Helios's topic in General Topics
if they dont deliver they are supposed to leave a notice of when and where you can collect it yourself, I have never had thai post try to attempt a second delivery but you never know, as you said strange they did not leave it at the office. If it is not dropped off today I would be contacting your local post office asap as some parcels tend to dissapear in Thailand post -
all too often we see bank staff involved with stealing other peoples money with the banks denying any responsibility, why wasnt she notified about these transactions when they happened, the bank has a lot of explaining to do and needs to replace all the stolen money.

its way past time that the police etc that help these criminals escape justice or are themselves involved in it are arrested and put in jail, maybe then they will start to realize they will not just get a slap on the wrist like they do now. Anyone that breaks the law needs to be jailed, doubly so for police as they are supposed to be the ones stopping it but in Thailand many are the ones organizing or allowing it knowing that all they will face is being transferred and not being jailed as any other country would do, graft and corruption reign supreme in Thailand and th govt refuse to do anything about it because they are part of it

well decomposed compost is probably the best natural way, sulphur is the other, these are probably the most used methods to do so, personally I use compost but only around each of my trees. Really depends on what you intend to do, if it just a garden bed its easy but over a big area it does become difficult, I have around 1000 trees(plumeria/frangipani), each has a hole dug for it, filled with coir chip then some sand and compost added and mixed in, I also add a small amount of fine rock phosphate dust(great for roots) at the same time. Every year I then add a slow release fertilizer & a good animal compost and turn it in, this keeps my PH around 6/6.5, I also add more coir chips as required.

Police Certain Tu Hao’s Wife, Other Suspects Intimidating Witnesses
seajae replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Thailand, graft & corruption are number 1, courts have received their bonuses so everything is ok and back to normal, the third world wins again -
maybe if thais wanted to actually work it wouldnt happen, most want to sit on the bums and do nothing, shop assistantsd ignore you when you are looking for help because their phone time is more important. Anything phydical is just off limits to many of them, they prefer money for nothing, in the west we tend to do what we are paid for, the exact opposite of Thailand

Paetongtarn Shinawatra says she is ready to be Pheu Thai’s PM candidate
seajae replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
yes, she is ready to do what ever daddy tells her to, what a joke, dumb as dog doo, just another shin looking at how much she can make out of it and doing exactly what she is told, time for thais to have an intellectual PM that will do what is right for the country and not themselves and their family/friends -
Cops boozing at the police station - would they be sacked like the nurse?
seajae replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
it is a police station, doesnt matter if they are not in uniform, there should be no alcohol being consumed in a police station at any time, we all know how pathetic thai men are with their egos, alcohol and guns re not a good mix. Anywhere in the western world they would be sacked as should happen, these cretins think they can do as they please bcause no one says or does anything which is why so many police(government workers)are involved in graft & corruption, they refuse to do what they are paid to do and actually work, even when they have road blocks they are doing the same thing, drinking, way past time the govt grew a pair and started sacking all the ones that refuse to work and do this sort of <deleted> along with their graft/corruption. Trouble is that would remove the greater majority of the police force..... -

Only Prayut, Prawit and Paetongtarn can realistically gun for PM post
seajae replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
what a joke this is, she is there for her name only because her father is the owner of the party and paid for her to get passes at her uni because she failed misserably, the other 2 are a joke at best. Again we see how pathetic thai politics really is if these 3 are the only choices -
Australian Woman Runs Over and Kills Street Painter in Pattaya
seajae replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
many year ago in Australia my mum was driving home just after 5pm(dusk) and as she turned a corner she nudged a pedestrian crossing the road wearing very dark clothes, luckily she wasnt driving fast so the pedestrian wasnt hurt. When she got home she cut up her driving licence and the next day put her car up for sale, she explained she didnt see the person crossing the road because of their very dark clothes but was worried her eye sight may not be good enough to drive any more and she didnt want to be responsible for hurting anyone, she was in her late 60's, she never drove again. Maybe this lady is in the same boat, eyesight failing but would also have to be totally brain dead to not feel/realize she was running over something.
