Does your Thai wife keep you on a short leash?
advancebooking replied to NorthernRyland's topic in Marriage and Divorce
I recently read a comment on this forum about a guy who says his thai wife effectively has her head in the sand when it comes to their marriage. I think some thai ladies are complacent, yet accepting of their farang husbands. Mine is really accepting of the fact that I need to spend time alone. She lets me go away once a month for a few days. We bought some land and we put one plot in my kids name. I paid for a caport and room to be built on it. Now I can go there and sleep and get away from the stress of family life. Its called detachment (from thai people). I would go nuts if I didnt have this escape. I love coming here alone and Im the only one with keys. Surrounded by walls and a gate. I come here everyday to be with my dog. Do gardening. Trying to stay sane. To sum up, It think thai women are, in general, very forgiving people. I think I have a lot in common with the OP and I think my wife would get along well with his misus. -
I recently drove my bar girl friend from Nana to Korat (nakon Rachisima). Its got to be the most dangerous road I have ever driven on. I thought the Pattaya to Rayong road was bad but its nothing in comparison. I experienced 2 trucks basically veering into my lane with no notice. Could have caused a serious accident. If you have any other 'awards' to grant please list the highway/ road below.

Can you help me do TM30 online
advancebooking replied to advancebooking's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I dont think there are any implications at all actually. The only reason I found out about this requirement was that I asked why my 90 day online reporting kept getting rejected. Now the officer is on my back all the time asking me to report tm30 -
I registered online with the TM30 system a few months ago. My home address is approved (covered up with the pink post it note in the photo). I went away for 6 days and returned last night. So how do I fill out the form in the photo. Its not clear at all to me how the hell Im supposed to do this. I stayed at 3 hotels over the 6 day period. So am I supposed to notify all 3 hotels? They all could have reported my stay to immigration obviously and thus I think I have to keep it accurate. Are there any fines for non compliance apart from rejection of online 90 day reporting? I recently went in to do the 90 day due to this reason. They officer said I must go see them the day after I get back blah blah. But if I dont whats the problem?? thanks

The benefits of living alone as an older man
advancebooking replied to simon43's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
My wife is doing the same to my 10 yr old. Almost too much love. I wasnt bought up like that. My parents rarely showed it. Maybe thats why I have so many issues? The bond my wife and child has is incredible. -

I like your attitude and probably be exactly the same when im in my 70s if I make it that far. But in my 50s its a bit too boring. I have tried it. I like to go away for a few nights away from my nagging wife and child. Thankfully she lets me do this once a month -

Thanks for the info. I know that toll to take on the right. When I drive past the landmark hotel I get in the right lane and turn right into the Mpass toll where your red arrow is. Usually I take that road and turn off when I see the airport symbol on the left (2km down) and go to Swampie that way. But to go to korat following your instructions: - Turn into that Mpass toll and enter the hwy - drive down for how many km's do you think until I see the 'Din Daeng' turn off? - keep right at that DD turn off and enter the tollway? - Then you say once off the tollway? What does that mean. How long do I stay on that road? Highway 2? - following the signs to Saraburi and then Korat. Is the above correct? If I have korat in google maps at nana will it take me that route? thanks
-
That google map is completely wrong. As member 'ballpoint' indicates above.... from nana bts get in the right lane when you drive past the Landmark hotel on the left. (it turns into 3 lanes). in that right lane you will go under the 'underpass' and see the toll on the right. Turn into that toll booth. Follow that advice and one does NOT have to do a google map circle past lumphini park and back around. Complete waste of time/ petrol

Im taking a break from Nana plaza and going to drive from there to Korat. If I drive from nana BTS sukhumvit and head towards MBK. Then turn right and stay straight, do I kind of drive past Victory Monument and then towards Don M airport? Is that the best way to get to Isan? Near that Victory M area is there a toll road? thanks
