OP, I assume you want this in CM - a point that some of the posters before me seem to have overlooked. I tried what you want several years ago, it was possible but they would charge me double the fare as they were starting from the airport. Maybe things have improved, you can ask. Now I use grab to go to the airport, easy, clearly stated price. Grab allows to book for a specific date and time, but it will cost you some extra. I find that if you live in a well-served area about 10-15 minutes ahead of your desired pick-up time are sufficient. I use airport taxi from CNX to home. Prices are very comparable with the two options in the two directions.

Look, my last post on this. Clearly you are on your own personal crusade. Many years ago, in Europe, I managed to puncture one of my eardrums. Blood and all. I went to a local hospital, spoke with the ENT doctor (the guy with the PhD). He examined me, then he sent me to take a test in some "audiology" (?) test room netx door. Waited a while, a male nurse appeared. Forgive me if for the sake of brevity I call that a "technician". Certainly not a PhD guy or "doctor of Audiology". He switched off the lights, went into a cabin, rotated knobs and sliders and asked me if I could hear this and that for some ten minutes. Perhaps this is what you have in mind? I was summoned back to the doctor (the one with PhD) office and we talked about medication, recovery, and so on. btw, I was presented with a bill in comparison to which the ignominy of the package that you refuse from BKH would appear very sweet. It would have been impossible for me to see the "test-taking guy" by himself without seeing the doctor first. Fact, not opinion. And that's why I say that I find the response you got from BKH quite logical. Now this is my opinion, I admit. Good luck with your crusade.

Volleyball is a sport where height makes a difference, and watching the Polish and Thai girls compete close to the net couldn't have made this clearer. On top of that, the home advantage: it was amost scary too see the court full of red-white supporters. All in all, a predictable outcome and well done to Thai players. Wish them better chance tonight with Croatia.

There's no reason not to have more than one reason.

Just make sure you don't get confused and use the wrong one for yourself.

Wait until the floods come, then you may not find them so odd.

One question concerning a Last Will and Testament

It all depends on the compromise you want to accept, between making it easy and fast for you now, or making it easy and fast for your gf to benefit after your demise. -
One question concerning a Last Will and Testament
arithai12 replied to Keith5588's topic in General Topics
I just went through the same. The testament is written in Thai, only, for my Thailand assets. Redacted by a City Office notary, witnessed, translated to me by a person that I entirely trust, signed, a copy deposited at the local city office, the original with my wife. Unassailable by any hypothetical contestants. As the document pertains assets which are in Thailand, I find this logical. btw, although I do not read Thai in general, the document is simple enough (mainly condo, bank accounts) that I could more or less follow even the reading by the Thai notary. If you want it your way, then have the document written, witnessed and notarized in the UK. Be mindful that in this case it will have to follow the UK law (e.g., if you have descendants or wife in the UK maybe they cannot be excluded entirely). Then your gf will have to jump some extra hurdles such as to obtain a legally valid translation, possibly at your embassy, to act on it. You can't get away from the fact that, if you are leaving assets in Thailand to her, they can be released only upon presenting a valid Thai document. -

They used to say that history is written by the victors. Now, the news are those dictated by who controls the media. -
Excuse me, what corruption? I was perfectly entitled to it (we were, both me and my wife), we just preferred going the smooth way as we both didn't speak much Thai. It may have cost a few 100B for the agent's work, I really don't remember. You seem to speak a lot about things about which you have no clue.
-
If you say so. I vaguely remember getting the YB via an agent, probably paid a small sum, I don't remember any special hassles. But I do know it's a big help in many occasions, among others everytime a residence certificate is required, I could "list" them but I am not selling YB's, to each their own choice.

Heavy flooding in Chiang Mai on Friday morning
arithai12 replied to webfact's topic in Chiang Mai News
Drove by Immigration about 1pm, it was all dry again. A case of flash flood like it happens everywhere else in the world when rainfall is too intense to be absorbed, more than "heavy flooding". -
You can try calling e.g. CP, they rent m/bikes and also big scooters, good English. The prices might vary with rental durtion but I am afraid they will be not as economic as you hope. btw, I assume you already are in Thailand and have a Thai DL. If coming as a tourist from abroad, make sure you have an international driving permit from your country first. Not my business, but if you intend to "get about", why not something in the 150-160cc range, they are just as good in town and definitely easier in the traffic and on the wallet.

Do the right thing and stop at Zebras - campaign continues
arithai12 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
In CM things are improving. Far from ideal, but definitely improving. Just yesterday I saw cars and motorbikes stopping for pedestrians crossing on main roads (Suthep, Huay Kaew, Moon Muang) several times. It used to be zero years ago. -
Thailand’s teachers accumulate combined debts of ฿1.4 trillion
arithai12 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Then please explain why a teacher who is already loaded with loans to be repaid, buys a new car as the first thing instead of a used one. It's their mentality, their culture, they can do what they want, but it's a fact not a cynical response. -
OP, word of caution about the 800k. As you already know, you will need a letter from your bank to show to imm. You say you haven't been here since Jan 2021. I know people in similar situation, who upon their return found out that the bank had frozen their account for not being used more than 1 year. I am saying that, unless you have kept your account alive with some online transactions, you might find that some extra time is needed to resurrect it to full function, including said letter.

I find that quite normal and I don't understand what's the issue - or how it's related to the OP. The ENT doctor IS the specialist, not the technician performing the audiology test. The doctor will not only prescribe the test -if needed- but also see you after to talk about it. It's like you enter a hospital and demand to get an x-ray of your chest because you feel a pain, without seeing a doctor. Or a lady who has missed two periods and wants to get an ultrasound and take the result home without talking to an ob-gyn. If you want to skip the doctor, maybe you can try a shop selling hearing aids, I think they will do an extensive test and discuss it with you.

Mrs National Universe sounds a bit presumptuous... any participants from Proxima Centauri or Epsilon Eridani, just to stay in our neighbourhood? Or NGC 891?

Actually, the OP has not disclosed his naitonality and if he's eligible for visa-exempt, has he/she? OP, you can check out the countries eligible for visa exempt here. Note that from Oct 1 the duration of the visa-exempt entry will be extended to 45d from current 30d. If elegible, follow what UJ said. You don't need to do anything before flying, just present your passport at immigration on arrival.

I don't have an opinion about the Thai vaccine, I have no idea of the rationale behind it. But your comment omits that the case numbers are dropping exactly thanks to the vaccines. The virus itself doesn't show any sign of going away. Since afaik a Covid vaccine has a limited duration, it follows that (yearly?) recalls might be needed, see example the flu vaccinations. Perhaps only for seniors and those with risks, but still. You may say no more vaccines for you, but you don't represent the whole population. Moving on I agree, it's happening already, but a shot per year I wouldn't mind in the least.
