38 member junket to Hawaii! Just remember Thais these are their deeds. A certain General a couple months ago said in TV "Thais should make their 300 baht a day go a little further in tough times"
Sent from my iPhone using Thaivisa ConnectIronic isn't, when he told Thais to make their 300 baht a day go further, he was speaking about the peoples' money and funnily enough the cash squandered on the Hawaiian splurge was the peoples' money too and the junta is taking good care of it for them.

many decent, serious reports lose credibility by unnecessary, sometimes ridiculous pointing and how can anyone take this one serious when needless pointing is supported by a couple of grinning fools ?
-
Are Meechai, Prawit and Prayuth in some sort of competition to see who can get the most media coverage ?

What utter BS, he'll do exactly as he's told and if any ' irregularities ' are highlighted they'll be glossed over, excused or explained away etc as per usual.

There are some good drivers here but it still doesn't stop me thinking that a Thai ' driving instructor ' qualifies as an oxymoron.

Surely an ambassador's job is to represent the interests of his government to the government of the host country.
Looking after tourists, ex pats etc is the remit of the consulate.
The last ambassador Mark Kent seemed to think his role was protecting the interests of the Thai government especially against complaints.

I can imagine the reaction in some western countries if this was to happen there, the do gooders, community representatives etc would be up in arms
There were protests about the raids in Paris and Brussels immediately after terrorist incidents despite being part of urgent on going investigations.

Don't tell me anyone is expecting anything productive out of 'probes' into this matter !
There's no shame about what they do and no shame in how complaints etc are simply dismissed.

Way to go glasses the old shell game starts now. The people voted on the constitution not a blank piece of paper for you to fill in later. What a crock.
If he was a Christian the balloon caption would read " All our Christmases have come at once. "
I'm presuming he's Buddhist and have no idea what the equivalent might be although with a Thai it might involve something about money.

Great teacher. In my experience the newer teachers have a completely different (Better) set of teaching methods compared to the older teachers, many of whom seem to go through the day on 'Auto-pilot'.
This young lady better e careful because if she gets praise as a competent, caring teacher her colleagues will undermine her for spoiling it for the rest of them.

Picking up where Mark Kent left off.
Has he mastered the groveling wai yet ?

once again more effort will be put into punishing those who exposed the crime than will be put into punishing the wrongdoers.
It's just another element of control unfortunately.

Do the Thai people never, ever, ever, ever grow a moral backbone and say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH?! Do they like being defecated upon from head to toe, day after day?
For God's sake ....!!
There's was post yesterday, sorry can't remember the thread, crticising the Thai people for having no interest in what goes on which is quite true in the main.
However Thai govts don't exactly encourage the people to take too much of an interest and under the current lot taking an interest other than of an approved nature, asking questions etc is hazardous to say the least but the lid can't be kept on things forever and we must worry about what could happen when things kick off.

The relative was so cross that a gun was picked up and a shot fired.
Is that because there was already a gun in the vehicle readily available to be picked up or because the relative just happened to have one with him ?
Hope the BIB have their best resources on this one.

Quite right, block this as there should be many more agencies so that there's plenty jobs for family, cronies and incompetent people and if possible their family members. The trough's big enough and everyone talking at cross purposes means decisions can't be made and no one can be blamed for screw ups.
Anyway isn't this already a sort of standard practice as on a couple of occasions recently 4 or 5 committees have been set up to consider the same issue.

Let's cut through all the bureaucracy and red tape and enshrine into law that whatever Prayuth declares to be a law automatically is.
In a way it's not to much different than what's happening.

PM’s Office executives urged to work with transparency
Why is it always "urged" and not ordered ? Just wondering
Yes, and it's quite common to read that senior officers in the BIB urge their men to do their job.
It's a supposed disciplined organisation yet ordering things to be done seems to be a mystery.

There's a few that will never admit to being duped and not really knowing what has been going on since the beginning. They are just too deep in now to get back out.
I find it quite fascinating that educated Westerners actually believe that this junta is a better option for Thailand.
Yesterday was the 40th anniversary of the Thammasat University massacre, and subsequent cover-up that has never been fully investigated. I didn't see a single article on here while it was extensively covered by BBC, Reuters and even CNN.
It used to be that the senior officers involved in the massacre went on a trip at this time of the year, usually to China.
Not sure how many of them are still around now.

There wouldn't have been any delay if it were not for the details being released on social media.
All would've simply happened according to plan. It's hard for some to realize times have changed regarding information availability and even harder to accept the plebs may no longer accept everything they are told.
Your last sentence is a recipe for more control if the junta feels it's grip is slipping.
