  1. Madamme, was also upset at loosing MyDootv, but a quick google brought it up in a new format. A new sign in (with her old details) and she was away again. She also retained the remainder of her subscription.

  2. Yeah TiT, it's a complete mix and match, if you are going to change your plugs, make sure you have the right socket to suit.

I like the snieder range as they can take my UK plugs, but you cannot use side by side.

So almost every location in my house has a different type of socket.

The 3 pin snieder with the haco flex coming down is very good.

I cannot find Sneider on the net, do you mean Schneider?

  3. I recall asystem in Bahrain about 25 years ago whereby any candidate for a driving licence had to show a "pass" certificate from one of half a dozen "approved" driving schools before taking an officil test. These schools soon became extortioners and the idea had to be scrapped.

However thai driving standards are poor and some form of pre-test instruction is necessary.

  4. I am a beer anorak. When I first went to Thailand in 1978, there were 3 beers availble:- Amarit (occasionally available on draught)was sweet, Kloster was tasteless, Singha @ 6% was the best of a poor bunch and I still prefer it although it is less tasty since they reduced the strength.

The best would be an Export Pale Ale of the type that UK brewers used to supply to the troops in India in the time of Empire. These Exports were extra strength and well hopped since both of these ensured that the beer kept better. The high alcohol also allowed the use of ice to cool (not chill) the beer without diluting the taste too much.In the days of empire refrigeration was rudimentary but ice always available.

I look forward to a proper Pale ale being brewed in Thailand.
