“Unruly” Aussie woman kicked off flight from Phuket to Sydney
EricTh replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
It is horrendous that nobody offered to swap the seat with her and forced her to get off the plane. If I had a window seat, I would have swapped with her because I prefer an aisle seat. -
Unless you look like and have a body like Thor, the chances of you netting a rich Thai girl is almost zero. The culture and language are so different, that rich Thai girls prefer someone who can pamper them and not the other way around.

How can they not know if they have a driving licence? To get their driving licence they need to also pass the theory part.

Where is the lol emoticon?

In Singapore, if 95% (instead of 5%) of the people drove private cars instead of public transport, the situation would be the same as in Thailand. You can afford to stop because you are not in a rush. Thai people are in a rush to make ends meet. The roads don't get any wider in Thailand while the volume of the cars increases.

Many Thai people have never been to western countries. Most western countries do not have the road congestion level as in South-East Asia and China so of course, they can afford to stop at zebra crossing. In reality, most people in South-East Asia do not stop at zebra crossing unless it is at a red-light junction. It's so expensive to own a car and motorbike in Singapore because of the COE that only less than 5% of the population drives a car, they all use public transport. So you cannot compare the situation of one country with another when road conditions are different. Imagining being stuck in traffic for an hour and then you have to stop at all zebra crossings. Thai people do not have the patience, go to other countries in SEA and see for yourselves.

Thai people are notorious for breaking all these traffic rules. Let's hope that there will be enough enforcement this time or else it's just on paper and nothing improves.

Recommendations for expat health insurance?

Does it cover the cost for both government hospitals and private hospitals? -
@FolkGuitar Their English is very limited so they will say very short sentences - there, Maya, Nimman etc. Don't expect them to give detailed road directions like native English speakers. Even if you can speak some Thai, most foreigners won't be able to understand their Thai if they were to give detailed road directions. I once spoke to them in Thai but got some confusing answer when they rambled in Thai.

All these silly border closure by the government after most of the populations have got the vaccines is unnecessary. It's just paranoia, getting Covid is not a death sentence , it becomes just a flu after getting vaccinated. Starving for long time feels more like a death sentence than a few days of flu.

What has this got to do with China invading Thailand? China has never ever threatened to invade Thailand. Taiwan, yes but Thailand no. So do not create an imaginary bogeyman. The Thai are not stupid. There is a historical link between China and Taiwan; just like Russia and Ukraine; just like North and South Korea; just like North and South Vietnam; just like West and East Germany etc. The last two were united into one country.

Not necessary and a waste of money for fully vaccinated. I recently arrived in Thailand and they just looked at my vaccination cert. I saw some Chinese tourists who took Sinovac and they were allowed entry without any problems. Covid test is only required for those who are not vaccinated or partially vaccinated (1 dose)

At least two doses is enough. Sinovac is fine to enter Thailand.
