  1. Not trying to make excuses for this woman, but my experience with dating sites is - don't expect that your profile is removed after you cancel your membership. The sites will continue to show your profile in order to boost their numbers (of people on their site).
Getting them to delete it can be quite a job.
Make sure you keep a record of your login details.

  2. My Thai friend went to the UK about two years ago to study. She said that sometimes when she told people where she was from they'd ask about/talk about the sex industry and ladyboys, etc (don't ask me why but they did). Anyway, she said it was impolite and that people shouldn't talk about it. Right or wrong, I asked her that if a visitor comes to Thailand and sees a lot of prostitution and ladyboys, etc, should they talk about it when they go home? She said they shouldn't.

I explained the difference in cultures. We all know about Thai culture, but in British culture, as with many cultures around the world, people will talk openly. They will criticise and mock, etc. You can't expect people to follow your rules when they go home because it benefits you. Again, right or wrong, if you want someone to think well of you, act well. I don't care about prostitution or ladyboys. People can do as they please. But if locals feel it's embarrassing and don't wanna address it, you will sometimes get a dose of the real world. You can't have you cake and eat it.

It's like when my brother messaged my missus to ask if she could get him some fake Ray Bans. Her first reaction was, "does your brother think Thailand is just full of fake goods?". I had to tell her that I don't know what my brother thinks of Thailand. But he knows you can openly buy fake Ray Bans. If you don't want people to think you can openly buy fake Ray Bans then don't openly sell fake Ray Bans.

Ha ha, luv it! I bet you weren't the top of the charts for suggesting they face reality!

  3.
Are you a farmer in Thailand?

No. I was a farmer in Oz and take an interest in farming wherever I happen to be.
Have visited farms in Thailand (NE) , seen their practices, talked to them, read about farming in Thailand.
Of course there is progress being made, but some areas are not seeing that.
Small holdings, lack of education, lack of govt involvement, many aspects need work.
Are you suggesting all is well?
  4. Quickly clears the field and is cheap.
Kills weeds, including those resistant to herbicide.
    Kills slugs and other pests.
    Can reduce nitrogen tie-up.

But what do the farmers know?  They only been doing that since people lived in caves.

Agreed a long held practice, but times have changed. Yields are down and chemical fertiliser use is rampant.
Fact is farmers don't know how to manage changing times. Old practices don't work forever.

    There lies the answer......

You are correct in that it's the Thai way. However, education into farming practises would show farmers here that in the long run it saves them money if they retain and use that valuable natural resource by nourishing the soil (giving better productivity) and reduces costs (don't need so much expensive fertilizer).
'In the long run' is the problem for the Thai mentality though, unfortunately. Agricultural practices are apparently not something the Thai govt is interested in. Yeild per hectare in Thailand is low compared to other countries.

  6. What bothers me about all this build up of equipment is maintenance.
So Thailand builds a drone, and who figures out the maintenance schedule and then writes the manual?
Given that maintenance is undeniably a weak point in the Thai psychology, how is this all gonna end?
What is undertrained Somchai going to do when he is required to read and digest these probably inadequate manuals?
If you see one of these drones in the sky, start praying that it passes you by.
