I'm sure the arrival of the Russians who like to head up to Tesco Lotus and the Thepprasit Market is a factor.
I hope so.

Proton; I hope you do realize that Pattaya is a seaside resort and mode of dress is going to be that much more relaxed.

Glad to see you're not biased. Because I carry a phone and a couple of other things it's either a bum bag or a shoulder bag. I prefer to have neither and have everything in my pockets. By the way I have never worn a vest in my life apart from when I was little in winter under a shirt.

I saw 2 baht buses today while going up Thepprasit so I"getting hopeful. One was pulling away from where they used to turnaround near Thappaya Road.

Best shop/market or store to buy Cargo Shorts. It used to be Made in Thailand (Night Bazaar) is it still the same or are there better places now. By best I mean cheapest I don't wear them to be fashionable but to have multi pockets.

Only confirms what we know about Thai police.

They will probably make a decision one day after the Wold Cup finishes.

I use Bolt a couple of times a week. I don't give a monkeys about the license as long as they have adequate insurance. Which Bolt says their drivers must have.

Never very many baht busses on it though!
There was enough. I used to use it 3 or 4 times a week if I was going to have a drink.
If I wasn't planning to have a drink it was mu motobike.

The problem at the moment is that we are in a Catch 22 situation. The Baht Buses wont return until there are customers to pick up. Conversely the customers wont return until they are sure there will be Baht Buses running.
What we need is some wealthy local firm to sponsor some Buses for a period of time (guaranteeing a income for each driver). After that period let the drivers decide if there is enough customers to continue.
There must be one or two large local firms that could help. I can think of at least one.

I think the moral of the story is DON"T TRUST POLITICIANS.

The one thing they could to is to extend the opening hours temporarily for the duration of the World Cup. This would then give them a chance to evaluate the consequences and make a more informed decision on whether to continue after.

When I'm typing a post it feels unnatural to post something like "a idiot" I always correct it myself to "an idiot". I guess it was drilled into me in my English lessons 60 years ago.

Those Thais who can speak English can watch and listen to live matches on the BBC and ITV.....with a VPN of course.
Sadly, not too many Thais can understand English.
You don't need to listen to watch football.

I'm looking to buy a Salang to fix onto my Click. There used to be paces on Sukumvit near the end of Jomtien 2nd Road but they seem to have dissapeared. Anybody know where I can buy one locally?

Lack of staff at the Immigration Desks is down to the government. Nothing to do with AOT. Lack of staff at Security (and their attitude ) is more likely due to low pay and miserable working conditions.
My last year of work at Heathrow (while waiting for HR to sort out my pension) was in Security. As I was earning the same salary as in my previous position (and not normal security salary) I put up with it. As soon as HR said we have finalized your deal I was off like a shot.
Wild horses wouldn't have dragged me back under their normal pay and conditions.
I suspect that in Thailand it's pretty much the same.

I always go 6 or 7 days before to make sure. I thought it was 15 days after was still OK.

Correction. I've now heard Chow Soy will still be a restaurant after renovation, run by a Scots guy.
When I went past yesterday it doesn't look like Chow Soy at all. It looks more like a bar. I can't remember the new name.

Knowing how quickly road markings wear out I take it they will have a team of painters on permanent standby to rectify the worn out areas.
