I can never work out why they dont do the logical thing and only sell to people-with a foreign passport. That way they can check the age as well.

Not one hit. I drove there one day and back 3 days later. It's not difficult, just have to concentrate and watch everyone else and be prepared.
Sorry, the way the post reads is that you did it in one day.

Thanks, I'll try that later.
I went there yesterday. Didn't have quite what I wanted but near enough. Since having my last helmet stolen I have been using my cycling helmet but I needed something that was better in the rain.

Speak for yourself. I am 74 and just as quick and alert as I was years ago. Just returned from drive from Chiang Mai to Pattaya, non stop and back, one stop for fuel. Will drive to Khon Kean next week.
You mean to say you drove over 1600Km in one hit. Christ you must be related to Superman. The most I drove in on day was just over 600Km and that was enough for me. And that was 20 years ago.
At my age now the most I can comfortably drive is about 450 and thats with a couple of 1 hour stops,

There's a good shop on South Pattaya road at the Khor Pai intersection (see map below).
Wide range of helmets, from cheapie scooter helmets to full sized modulars.
Might be a pain to get there now with the roadworks, depending on where you are coming from/going to.

You really need more than 10 hours a day drinking alcohol in bars ?
No, but I need them to be open in the afternoon. I'm normally home by 5 o'clock to cook dinner. And what are you going to do when its starts to pour down as we are in the Wet Season.

I want to know the name of something I watched long ago. Sometime between 1975 and 1980 (I think) I went with the girlfriend to NFT to watch a TV drama that was being shown in one hit. Its a story about a crime and subsequent conviction of a criminal boss. Shown in 4 parts .
I cant remember what it was called but each hour long segment told the same story but-from a different perspective. The criminal, the police, the lawyer and the prison. It was one of the most hard hitting drams I'd seen at that time. I thought it was directed by Ken Loach but I cant find it on Wikipedia.
Does anyone remember it. What was it called and the director.
Thanks

You do not need to inform Pattaya immigration of anything before leaving only a TM30 after your return.
Immigration in Bangkok would not know you were in Bangkok unless a hotel or a apartment building reported your arrival.
I'm not sure thats right Joe. I was told you didn't need to do another TM30 unless you had been out of the country.
I personally have been out of my province multiple times over the years and have never reported to Immigration on my return.

Doesn't seem like an appropriate thing to post on this or any other forum, mate.
Shooting politicians seems a sensible thing to do.

I always click on the New Content button when I come to Thai Visa. Only yesterday it had disappeared.
I changed the display yesterday from my monitor to my flat screen TV but this shouldn't have affected the content. I did notice the my account name had disappeared but I we still signed in.
Anybody else having these problems, and does anyone know how to get my New Content button back.
Thanks

I'm not excusing this but some of the mult-storey car parks are a night-mare to navigate. I used the one at Manchester airport and it indicated there were 14 places available. I drove around for 20 minutes trying to find one I could get my medium size van into before having to PAY before leaving without parking.
I know we 'knock' the Thais with their driving , but one aspect I've noticed here is that a large percentage of them reverse park which is far safer than the majority of people in the UK that have little concept ( or skills) of this.
My driving instructor told me Drive In, Reverse Out when I learned to drive 50 years ago. On the theory that your less likely to hit the car, wall what ever going in and reverse out because you have much more room.

They will probably use the "I was drunk"" as an excuse at their trial.

Replacement for Tony's Gym
in Pattaya
Posted
I have been a life member at Tony's for many years. When I was younger I used to go every afternoon . Walking machine a few weights and then a swim. Over the years it changed to early morning (no swim) and home for breakfast.
Not worried about air con at 6.30 in morning. Just recently I have got out of the habit. Put on 7 kilo. So I thought right back to Tony's.
Alas, no Tony's, so I'm looking for a replacement. Somewhere cheap, dont want a personnel trainer or anything. Just let me do my own thing.
Searching the internet I came up with the Fun Gym and Castro's but neither site Looked at had a map. Can anybody help me here or recommend an another cheap gym.
Thanks
