  1. Wannabe what? Why are foreign nationals always jealous when they see a farang doing something useful with his time in Thailand? Even if it means wearing a uniform? My mate is a paramedic in the UK and he loves to help out the odd night when on holiday, and the guys who he goes out with love him helping out. He tends not to waste time writing crap on here like me and you my son. He utilizes his time constructively.

    if you say so.

  2. Hi

I was told you can buy parts and ready made phins in China town Bangkok in the music shops there. ( not been myself )

Now my advice to you is buy a ready made one and modify it yourself. The most important thing is find one with a straight

neck, they do not have a truss rod . So this is the number one thing. also the cheap Phins don’t have real frets set into the neck,

Just wire laid on the neck in a slight groove and varnished over, fret it yourself. There is no separate fret board on the cheap Phins.

its all done on one bit of wood with a dragons head glued on the at the machine head end.

    Hope this helps.

  3. Do you want to be very old in Thailand.

    Not me.

Check out 70-75 good enough for me

maybe you can live a lot longer , for what !!!!!!!.

a load of old peoples diseases, loads of problems for your family , no thanks.

Live life a bit brighter and burn out a bit shorter , way more fun.

go to sleep one night never awake up., best way.

even better if in a St room !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! smile.png

    who wants to live forever.

  4. Perception is everything. If I'm walking down Beach Road and there are two men on one side of the road and two katoeys on the other, I will move the side with the men, regardless of how large or intimidating they appear to be. @2fishin2's table makes absolutely no sense to me unless Pattaya's katoeys have suddenly stopped taking drugs en masse - as for a single reported assault by a ladyboy in the past 6 months, that is nothing short of laughable. Sadly, when I tried to get to the PattayaOne site it appears to be down for 'a major upgrade', but any sane adult who follows the news items here will know that table is very poor reflection of the number of negative news items featuring transsexual prostitutes in Pattaya. Feel free to carry on defending the indefensible and blaming a woman with a potentially life-threatening wound on her skull.

First lets get this straight. No where in my post did I defend the violent actions of the ladyboy. I do not defend or condone violence in any way. What happened was wrong and the ladyboy should be punished.

The facts do not lie. They are straight out of the same news source that many of the Pattaya news stories come from Pattaya News.

You are very much more likely to be cut, robbed, stabbed, murdered by a man or woman vs a ladyboy actually over 90% more likely. Those are the facts and truth. Your statements are based in assumptions, innuendos, and hatred of a group of people.

The perception of people just because the are "different" is prejudicial and inflammatory. If you would rather walk to the other side if the street please do so.

The perception of bad ladyboys is a misperception. If the news reported by TV was balanced you would realize it. Unfortunately it is not and the sensationalism of reporting ladyboy stories is a norm here and is what causes this misperception.

    It is what it is.

    http://pattayadailynews.com/category/hot-news

In Pattaya ladyboys are a scourge and responsible for a disproportionate amount of crime.

Blokes with frocks and bolt ons full of hormones and drugs looking for easy scores from tourists.

You would be well wise to be very wary especially later in the night when they are marauding around looking for easy pickings.

Yet not according to statistics. I personally think that the phobic reactions so many men have may be linked to their insecurity surrounding their sexuality

Is your boyfriend a Lady boy ?

if so is he violet towards you when you disagree over something.

has he ever hit you with a shoe ?

  5. Has anyone stopped to consider that perhaps the Polish woman started the fight. Sure the ladyboy may have propositioned the husband but I'm thinking he was standing single at the time and not with his wife. He may have even been flirting with the ladyboy. Thinking it's a joke or something along those lines. Then the wife comes along sees a ladyboy grabbing her husband and provokes a situation. It's easy to forget these ladyboys are born men; they look so much like women.

I've never had a Thai girl or ladyboy hit on me when I'm with a lady in Pattaya. I'll walk past a bar and they'll appear to not even notice me. Walk past the same bar by myself and I'm considered fair game. I think there is a lot more to this story and the Polish woman is far from innocent. She'd definitely guilty of "talking when she should have been walking."

Sure she did , come on holiday look for a fight with lady boy.!!!!!!!!

    Rubbish.

She was attacked by one of the nasty out of control lady boys of pattaya, who do what they want. when ever.

You never had any problems with a lady boy in pattaya.!!!!!

Then you have never stayed here for any long period of time and never left your hotel room for the little time you have been here,

they try it on with anyone who walks past!!!!!!!! with physical or verbal abuse .

They are the ever increasing pond slime of pattaya. bah.gif

  6. Professional racing car drivers wear helmets, professional motorcycle drivers wear helmets, professional bicycle racers wear helmets, professional jockeys and show jumping riders wear them, professional snowboarders wear them, professional skateboarders wear them, professional BMX riders wear them. Can they all be wrong? Helmets make sense.

Michael Schumacher was too, did it help him or prevent the accident?

And if he had not been wearing a crash helmet he would have almost certainly died.

According to Mirror, Michael's family is planning to build him a £10 million hospital room in their home for his continued treatment and recovery. But the home care for Michael is already straining the family's finances and Corina has no other choice but to sell the family's Norwegian holiday home to help finance the said hospital room

Maybe it would have been a mercy if he had.

    Little bit off topic but.

Michael may well still pull through

Time is a big healer, lets hope .

  7. Depending of how you dress and what you ride can make a difference of being stopped or not being stopped.

If you ride a typical rental scooter and dressed in shorts and flip flops, they will likely stop you, because you look like a tourist.

When I ride my big bike, I am dressed up with biker boots/biker gloves/mesh jacket and expensive full face helmet and they very very seldom stops me.

On the scooters, I often rides in jeans and sometimes light gloves and good shoes and again, they very seldom stops me.

I think with big bikes, its not so much what you wear, but the fact if you do not return on time with paid ticket, having it towed is not as easy as a scooter.

I never ever get pulled over if i am with one of my dogs. NO matter if i do not have a helmet or half naked, they wave me in, but when see a dog, let me go.

When its a hassle, they do not want to bother and waste time when plenty of other fish to fry

that's not nice to talk about thai people like that!!!!!!

    very bad man.

Changing safety equipment for different bikes why ?

the road is the same and other drivers are the same, the scooter you have can go fast enough for you to die, why the change?

or is it just a biker image thing ?

    Sorry could not resist it.

think all bikers would look great on a Fino in full leathers and full face crack hat and gloves. biggrin.png

  9. OP, the reasons why he stopped foreigners are

    1. Thais would not stop for him and most likely run him over as well.

    2. Stopping a thai requires ability to speak thai , which he does not.

    3. Fine for thai is 200, foreigner 400,pure economics

    4. This area is full of rental bikes driven by foreigners without license and no green book, so it's 1000 at least in fines.

On 3 road, corner Pattaya tai, there is a daily police check point, everyone gets stopped.

To answer why he would, because he deeply thinks and believes by "assisting " police he is one of the boys with "connections"

    Not true .

    Passed many times not stopped.

  10. After months of nothing but a coming soon sign, I see there is large plastic Foodland sign that has recently been placed on the site, Good news, I hope.

Let's hope soon, because the nearby Food Mart staff nearby are miserable.

I get the feeling that all those customers are ruining their nice quiet afternoon. They will be pleased when all their customers go elsewhere I'm sure.

Maybe the boss not nice to staff ?

  11. I would like to avoid drug trafficking, prostitution, robbery, and live in a quite community.

Thanks for the laugh...I know your are serious...but this is a matter of everyday life for the Jomtein/Pattaya area...I would not recommend taking young children to that area...try Hua Hin...nothing ever happens there...

This is true . nothing ever happens

But your kids will be so bored they will just want to play games on the internet all day, or on your smart phone all day

Hua Nin is so boring for kids !!!!!!

    don't do it.

  12. My big bike and 2 scooters all run original exhaust silencers and I will stand my ground if they try nailing me on that.

If you do and you are in the right, they will back off in +99% of the cases.

Some small bikes are very noisy and I hope they confiscate the bikes and keep them until the owner shows up with an legal exhaust and fit it himself and can then ride off without the noisy one.

Yes the no left turn on red is something to be careful about, downtown the police are often waiting just around the corner.

    Ha Ha

Yes but its the same corners every time !!!!!!!!

if you been here a few years you know them, its well funny when they go round past me, only to be pulled over 400 baht please !!!!!!!!

  13. This is great news, clamp down on the noisy bikers.

Hope we can see minimum 3 years in monkey house and 10,000 baht fine for all idiots that have them

only dreaming but good idea yes ?

  14. How old are the kids?

We had a family come to stay at our house in Jomtien- had a brilliant time- lots of things to do, Art in Paradise, if they are young Teddy Bear Museum, water park ( it's very expensive) Tiffany etc, go- karting is good. Day out snorkeling- very reasonable.

Trip out to the open zoo- great day.

    Nong Nooch , Wat Yarn.

Avoid the tiger zoo , dreadful place.

As other advise I would stick to the pool, or perhaps go swimming at the islands, you do heard of eye/ ear infections which can be miserable for children.

Cinemas, ten pin bowling is good. Ripley's at Royal Garden.

Loads of restaurants- such as Hard Rock if you want Western food, go to Cabbages & Condoms if you want somewhere very pretty and the rabbits there are fun for kids.

The place is safe, certainly a lot safer than inner city areas in most major cities.

I can't imagine you are going to be wandering around at 4 in the morning in some dodgy part of town, take no notice of the Pattaya bashing brigade who think they are holier than thou because they live in the back of beyond achieving enlightenment by watching rice grow.

Think your out of date mate, as I was till last month.

Tiger zoo is the best of the lot for what you get for what you pay.

    kids loved it.

it was total crap years back said I would never go again.

very good now, elephant show is way more funny than Nongnouch !!!!!
